Has anyone found a solution to run multi-window, like on the LG G4 or LG V10? I know q-slide a solution was found and also the app drawer downloaded LG launcher. I want to buy this phone but only if I can run two apps at the same time.
Thank You
Everyone
you are aware of the fact LG did not implement it for the LG G5 yet because android N will bring it out of the box?

That's a bad excuse by LG if that's their reasoning. However, I don't really miss the feature, on a phone it's kind of useless.

It is one thing that Android M is gonna bring some features, multi windows included, it is entirely another that it's gonna be implemented across all boards, especially when you look at some heavily skinned UI.
Like, app drawer is a native feature, what about the G5 and the plethora of Chinese smartphones? Adoptable storage? No worries, Android 6 has it. G4? G5? Galaxy S and Note series ?
So, no, it is not a given that we'll have multi windows feature when N comes along. Features are not there until they are, and at the moment, I don't see as to why LG would make us wait so many months until N is out to offer us a proper multi windows solution.
It is like when manufactures release new phones with a outdated Android version and saying "update is coming shortly", sometimes, it is a trimester... We've been to long into this game to get caught time and time again by the same catchphrase.

Has anyone searched the system files to see if it exist in the software just hidden as such?
The Xposed module: XMultiWindow may work for you... I have yet to try it tho, so tread lightly.

Hey Guys!!!
Ever heard of BOOT TO GECKO?!
Mozilla created Firefox, Seamonkey, Thunderbird, and now a smartphone operating system, known as Boot To Gecko, or Mozilla OS...
I am planning on working to port this amazing operating system to our smartphone, it will probably be a BIG project; which is another topic.
Is any developers here in our LG Optimus One area of XDA willing to work with me to get Boot To Gecko on our P500s? It would be amazing, even if it is on a linux/android based port (or themed ROM maybe... port itself is better)
So yeah
Also, I have not a lot of spare time during day between 9am-6pm because of work, so around nighttime I am free, so is on weekends...
I would love to see this on our phones, even sideloaded (multiboot) capability would be amazing, then we could have endless possibilities! I would have DoozzzedUIv4 and Mozilla B2G, and it would be amazing.
I would say good luck, but I'm the one to be working on it

on B2G GitHub, there's a pull request for adding support for the P500 in the build process, so it should be compatible if someone compiles it.

Man someone did all that work only for it to never see the light of day, its been so long that not only the phone died but the os too. Hard to believe that my 150 dollar phone is more than 16 times more powerful than this.

I used to have an LG P500, the battery bloated a few years ago so I got rid of it thinking I wont miss it. Oh well that was a mistake. There is cyanogen os for the LG P350 so it would be easy to port firefox os overlay to the phone, it should run great as all the applications are minimalist. I am currantly trying to port Lineage 18.1 for my Samsung A11 but I am having issues with the camera, phone calls, etc. Android porting used to be so much more simpler back then, or I am just too unfamiliar with the new environment. The phone is armv6 so the maximum android version it can run without being extremely slow is android 4.4. I could get the lastest twrp version working but it would be useless on it. Postmarketos should run nicely on it.

actually b2g can't be even built because of the repositories being down, while archives exist you need to patch the source to use the correct paths and that's something most people won't do to run an outdated os
btw I also got twrp3 on some armv6 devices, a nice but useless things indeed
I'm Chinese on mainland of China. Today I read a news about the so called "Android Window System ". First of all I just think it would be a ugly copycat of floating apps or something similar, but while I was watching the demo video I was totally shocked. It might be really a breakthrough for android tablet in my eyes. I don't know how many of you can read Chinese and can link to this video site due to China's Government Firewall, but if you can, you must have a look.
The news site : http://www.cnbeta.com/articles/244878.htm

(there are three demo videos in the news, I post one of the video address here, you can find all the three in the last of the news. If anyone interested in helping me to post in YouTube, just contact me. )

This is no different than Samsung releasing their devices with multi-window.
What you've shown is a Rockchip's device running Rockchip's version of the Android OS on 4.2.2 with the multi-window UI implemented.
This is not Android 4.3, 5.0, 6.0, or 9.0.
Please do not spread misinformation! Do your research! It'd be nice to have but...

I didn't mention it is any official Android version. It's true that it is for Rockchip's devices and use Rockchip's own sdk. I just wanted to show you guys what these devices can actually do. Multiwindow may not be useful on phones, but I want it on my tablet, and I believe many nexus10 owners think the same.

I understand. I was just saying it's similar to what Samsung released with their multi-window. They already showed it can be done. Rockchip just did there's much better. N10 is capable of anything but unless someone that can do this, for free, it's just more eye-candy. Cornerstone was there but Google intervened, more or less, and we're back to square one. Devs can most definitely utilize cornerstone but they don't. Why is that? Google.
Cool, but not going to happen just yet.

It is highly desirable that Google implemented in the next version of Android (4.3 or 5.0) MULTI management of native to their Nexus devices.

Cornerstone was stopped by Google because it supposedly caused lots of issues

I know they did. I said they intervened.
CM tried to but Google stopped them. It was mostly due to the integrity of app Window resizing.

There's new button on navigation bar called MW-button. When it is long pressed a new screen appears that is split in two. Each having an application drawer where all applications can be scrolled. On clicking an application, it appears in the split view on that side.
Would love for Paranoid Android to have MultiWindow but the developers involved have stated a few times that Multi Window won't be implemented.
I love this mock up! wish it can come true
This can be done with Xposed and the XMultiWindow module.
Or xhalo floating windows, also an xposed module, mostly works a treat.
The Nexus 5, like the Nexus 4, is based off of another LG phone, right? Namely the G2, as the N4 was based on the Optimus G. And people have been porting the Split Window feature from the Flex to the G2 since they're essentially the same phone, so is it possible to port over again?
I like the idea but I won't implement it till it can be proven that haven't two apps are useful while using only half the screen.
Let's assume that another app is only one click away. Under want circumstances would having two apps at be useful understanding that you can see half the content you usual do are useful? For most apps I have found the screen size to be small for two applications especially while utilizing the keyboard. There is simple not enough space for two applications . Until this can be proven more useful than having a temporary mini application then it won't be supported in PA.

Would love this option. Mostly to be able to listen to Youtube and using the phone for whatever else at the same time. But there might be easier solutions for this 'problem'...

I use multi-window a lot on galaxy note 8. If you are learning a new language you will find it invaluable. In fact any ROM without multi-window capability is unsuitable for a tablet.
I feel like this feature is far more relevant with the Nexus 6 in the game...
Has anyone learn if this is in the making?, would love to have this on the nexus 6....to put this on top of all Androids' Family

I will never install lollipop as xposed does not work nor the plugins i used to customize my g2. I'm happy as is.
Besides, lollipop looks like it is designed by my 9yr old kid. Lots of bright overexposed colors with childish icons that look like someone would draw during pictionary.

You could go with CM 12 when the theming engine is ready.
I had heavily used xposed as well, at least in my opinion, sometimes as much as 20 modules. Normally about 5-7.
Now at CM 12 I disabled even root and am happy as it is.
No matter what I tried the original LG rom with custom kernel, or not, was always laggy to me, incoming call screen as hell..
Might have to do something with the apps I had to install ... Maas...however CM is something completely different..
Or might not have been laggy, now perceived as laggy after I tried CM
Only thing I miss is the custom camera apps... or camera fixes.

Hello, so I've heard the V35 is getting Velvet UI Android 10 from LG, my question is about how possible is it to port the official rom to the V30?
From what I understand the V30 and V35 share most of the same components except the chipset, front camera and wide angle. Cameras seem to be reasonably easy to fix even if with GCam, chipset would probably be the hardest.
Does someone have an idea of how possible this would be? What are the limitations on this approach?

Someone who is technically proficient can do it, but that's different from someone will do it.
Most devs don't like to work with stock-based ROMs. They prefer to work with LOS-based custom ROMs.
The only current V30 stock-based ROM is A.I.X. The A.I.X. ROM dev -- who has already ported many V35 libs to V30 -- would be your most likely bet.
He does not post his ROMs on XDA.

I imagine these come from those Russian forums that keep getting linked? Will be interesting to see if someone at least tries it.
We should start V35 port operation
Some really should port the G7 One Rom. Stop wasting time with LG stock libs etc unless they're needed. The G7 One is the same hw and running Android 10.
I would love to get a V35 port. I just don't understand why people want a stripped down version of Android.

Because for them, having "Android 10" is more important than having the premium features of LG flagship phones.
I don't understand that philosophy. I bought the phone for the hardware features and software tricks.

The stock libs are necessary in many cases. Like the DTS Surround Stereo, which LG accidentally put in and never enabled. We enabled it with root.
AIX dev showed a lot of latter Oreo and the botched Pie is simply LG port of V40 firmware (which would also be V35). For Pie they LG was just too lazy to clean it up before they left. But the AIX dev showed we have libs for stuff LG never intended V30 to have -- because it was ported from newer models.
LG is still doing that. He showed V35 and V40 have libs for dual display, which doesn't exist for those two phones -- but which were "accidentally" ported by LG from V50 for Android 10.

I get that, my point is I am fond of Android One. The LG UI over top of that which includes the "premium code" that LG is known for just makes icing on the cake. DAC support, AOD, etc. The LG UX is definitely not low grade. I won't dismiss that either. My point being is that someone has a G7 One dump and I am wondering how much more time or effort it would be to port or build a V30 ROM from that than a V35 port.

The botched Pie to me always looked like Oreo slapped with a custom ****ty implementation of the pill navigation full of bugs that never got fixed... They really gave 0 ****s about giving a stable and fast Android 9, they just wanted to say "hey we gave you 2 major updates".
****ing sad honestly, not sure I can come back to LG after this.

Yeah, unfortunately LG has had something going with their HW design for a long time that I personally cannot look away from yet. Then they started in on the notch/hole punch trend that came up about 2 years ago, so I have stuck with only up to the V35. The headphone jack alone is one core reason users still stay here, and I think they understand that....that and the DAC itself are only found in their devices and maybe a few other Chinese devices. Will be interesting to see what they decide to do after these Velvet "marketing trended" devices go aged....
