So i was in third period today at school and i needed to take a picture of some notes from a school textbook and when i opened the camera application all i got was a ton of green horizontal lines... The front camera works fine, its just the rear camera. I've rebooted about three times already and nothing happened. Any suggestions? Has this happened to you?

That's weird, never had that happen before. Are you on the latest camera firmware? What's the one you got?
I had this issue with one of my primes. When I called tech support regarding this problem they instructed me to do a factory reset and a reset (pressing the reset button located under the micro sd card 3 times) Nothing helped so they wanted me to RMA it. I ended up doing an exchange since I was still in my return window. It could be a result of a bad camera firmware upgrade or just a faulty camera. You can also try clearing the camera cache under settings/applications. Sorry I can't be more help, I never got to the bottom of the issue myself.
Hi everyone.
I would like some help or ideas on this question:
I have a problem with camera at my galaxy SII. I have it since it was released, more than two years ago, and now camera mess up. The camera doesn't focus at distant points, but have no problems focus with close shots. (Macro option is disabled)
Not everything lasts forever, so I find out this post and I bought a new module camera (model GH96-05176A, same as the original from my SII).
I have no problem disassembling devices, but when it was done and I check it, the same problem was there. Camera doesn't focus either...
I softly cleaned up module lens, and even test it without rear case. Rom was changed, wyping and formating system and data. Nothing has been solved.
I know that probability for same problem on two modules (doesn't focus at distanced points) may be lowest. Anyone have an idea what I should do?
Thanks a lot.
On MK2, rooted, safestrapped, running stock rom, debloated (frozen) with TiBu
Has anyone else experienced failure of the rear camera? I noticed it intermittently last week, but now fails every time I try to use any camera apps. The stock camera app loads/runs but the screen is black and it will not take photos. Flash works. Front camera works. I'm afraid I got a bum hardware issue and will have to ship back to Vzw. Any ideas?
Thanks.
Hi guys.
I've bought a galaxy grand 2 two months ago. For those two months phone was doing great. It was jelly bean so i upgraded it to kitkat. It was working better after upgrading. But after I've rooted it, it gives me some problems like google play cant get into internet, over heating or battery draining .
However it was good though that i was getting extra advantages for rooting it. But I thought using official binary will be good for now.
So I re installed Kitkat version of it.
After installing official firmware, everything was working fine except camera's focus and accelerometer's direction.
Camera: When I try to focus the camera into close objects it can't focus it. Tries but fails. Thought it might not be able to focus the object from that distance. I tried other camera apps. I tried using Google camera. Google camera can take the photos of far object. But when I try to focus on close object it tries to focus and the app crushes. No idea what happened to the focus feature.
Accelerometer: After Re installing, I've noticed a problem in accelerometer. That is when I hold the camera 90 degrees it actually calculate wrong. It calculates that i'm holding the phone left side slightly. Though i'm holding it straight. The problem appeared when I was playing temple run. The character was running on the left side. Sometimes when i restart my phone the accelerometer get fixed. But after some while the same problem appears.
Dont know if these problems are hardware issues or software. Dont know even how to solve it. Any Solution from experts will help me a lot. Thanks in Advance....
So I got the V10 on T-Mobile the day it was announced that the bootloader was factory unlockable. I love it so far with one somewhat concerning exception (apart from the laughable battery life but *shrug*): the majority of the time when I try to use the back camera, I'm not able to focus it. In auto mode tapping to focus does nothing. In manual mode sliding the focus dial also does nothing. Third party camera apps won't focus either. I have to pull the battery and reboot and it *might* work then, and if it does it'll only work the first time I open the camera. Front cameras work fine and the focus on the back camera when it works is excellent. Has anybody else run into this or know if it's worth messing with or if I should just exchange it?
Also for clarification I was running the stock rom (rooted) but with very little frozen. Switched to black hole yesterday (triple wipe) which has been lightning fast so far but having the same issue.
Thanks!
Same
Got it last week and Ive been having the same problem. I dont have many apps but I do let my battery drain due to laziness. Thats the only bad thing I do. I'm thinking of exchanging it because ive also messed with all the settings in the manual camera and nothing. Its set to a very close 1 inch distance to focus well. Front camera works marvelous.

Yeah close focus is exactly the problem. I can take passable pictures of stuff right in front of me by physically moving the phone closer and further until it's in focus but that's useless. I'm going to go by the T-Mobile store this evening or tomorrow and see what they say.
