My phone was working, I had MiniCM7Pro V21 Installed and I tried to install the CWM Recovery Version 5, because in my installed version the Battery Stats Wipe wasn't working and my battery was draining very quickly.
After the CWM Recovery Version 5 Installation my phone got bricked because it's getting stuck in Sony Ericsson Text.
I am trying to Reflash but only Flash button is active and it doesn't show any firmware though I have copied both zip and unzipped files in firmware folder in FlashTool_0.2.9.1
I tried to use SuperOneClick to root but it gets stuck in Waiting for device. Kindly help.
It gives the following error :-

Press home+power button until you see black screen, then immediately press and hold back button plugging your phone into computer. When you see black screen and green flashlight-> your phone is correctly booted into restore mode. From this mod, you can restore your phone, using SE restore tools: SEUS and Sony Ericsson Pc Companion, or flash stock kernel using flashtool.
P.S. If you wont see black screen and green flashlight for the first time, try it again, again until you putt your phone safely into restore mode.
Thank you for the reply, the black screen do u mean the black screen with Sony Ericsson Text ? When I Press Home+Power Button I can see the Sony Ericsson Text Black Screen and then I press and hold the back buton Pluging my phone into computer I keep on seeing the Sony Ericsson Text Black Screen with no green flashlight.
I am still trying.
Black screen without any logos. Just black screen. Don't forget to hold back button.
Doing that, but it still gets into Sony Ericsson Text Screen, I press home and the power button, black screen for a while and I press back button and try to connect the phone the Sony Ericsson logo appears.
But When the cable connected and back button pressed the I can see the charging image and green light flash.
and in Flasher it shows the following :-

reflash to stock kernel and ROM
- install PC companion.
- connect phone in repair mode
- install drivers.
- after driver installed, reflash stock kernel using flashtool
- after stock kernel installed, reflash stock ROM using PC companion
- after stock kernel and ROM flashed, your phone should be like just when you bought it.
- bootloader should be locked now
- Root again
- unlock bootloader again
- Flash nAa again
- Flash cm7 again
- DONE!
Thank you for your reply, I have PC Companion Installed, I have a Generic Firmware downloaded, I have no idea what a stock kernel is ?
I am not able to get into this repair mode, I think this mode is when the flash light flashes ?
from the Bootloader part, I think I can do it because I did it before following a tutorial. If you can lease help me with the prior stage to bootloader lock would be highly grateful.
Thank u
Ones again: to enter restore mode you have to power off your phone, using home+power buttons or powering off like I have on picture. Then press and hold back button, while plugging it into computer.

- To relock bootloader you need to flash stock kernel which is 2.1.0.a.06 kernel.
- You need to flash stock kernel because if you have nAa kernel or any custom kernel installed, you wont be able to repair your phone using pc companion.
- After flashing stock kernel:
1. open pc companion
2. click support zone. (click start below it)
3. after clicking start, there should be a new window which also has a "start button"
4. on the 2nd start button, there should be a button under it which says "repair"
5. after clicking repair, just follow the steps for you to connect your phone in repair mode.
6. complete the repair installation.
7. DONE!
8. Bootloader should be locked now.
Thank you I was able to restore through PC Companion by getting into repair mode, however I didn't use flashtool to flash prior to usin PC Companion.
Thank you both for your kind support, Highly appreciated.

You are welcome my friend
And how should I proceed if I have a really hard brick (u20a)?
I tried to flash nAn on it, followed some instructions to unlock the bootloader, but something went wrong, the results were not the ones that should had been, and I made the mistake of turning it off. Now whenever I try to power it on, it doesn't do squat.
The only thing that makes me think it's still alive is that (after several months) I plugged it in and it began blinking on red (perhaps really low battery).
I've tried to pull the battery, put it back in, press back (keeping it pressed), and then plugging the cable to the computer and nothing.
Any ideas? Or should I flush it down the toilet? :crying:

Hi all..
I was trying to root my device (using FlashTool), but after doing the step when you have to hold "Back" button and turn the device on (while FlashTool is still running), it just lost the ability to launch Android properly and instead it gets stuck on boot screen (black background with white "Sony Ericsson") and I'm not able to continue rooting my device afterwards..!
Any idea why? I did the same just yesterday and got the same problem ,so I had to restore system using SEUS tooll, but I still need to root my phone, any comment is welcome and thanks in advance for everybody..
I was following the instruction mentioned on this link:

And my phone is running GingerBread.
I assume your phone is X10i (if it's X10a let me know)
1.- download stock generic firmware http://minus.com/mAla782XK/1f
2.- download and install flashtool http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool/
3.- inside flashtool you'll find several folders, unrar your firmware (X10i_3.0.1.G.0.75_1241-1846.ftf ) inside firmware folder, do not connect your phone yet
4.- run flashtool and click on "flash" icon, pick flashmode, then OK
5.- On the left side select your firmware and hit OK (It will say "preparing files for flashing")
6.- A window giving you instruccions will pop up, just press and hold the back button on your phone, connect the USB cable (which is already connected to PC, of course ) and don't let go the button until you read flashtool started to flash
7.- wait 'till it finishes
8.- It will only take a few minutes, the only moment it seems it's stucked is when is flashing "system" , don't worry, it takes a little longer that the other files.
9.- after is done, just unplug, turn it on and wait, don't forget first boot always takes a little longer too!!!!!!
10.- If you want to, use flashtool to root your phone and install xrecovery afterwards, that's it, brand new
Hope it helps and is clear enough, any question just ask, I'm usually here.
Don't forget to hit "thanks" if I was helpful!!

I got that same problem when I tried to root my phone. Apparently I had forgotten to enable USB debugging on my phone before beginning the process..you can resolve it by clicking on flash in the flashtool and selecting kernel upgrade..your phone will boot after that. Then close flashtool and restart the process with USB debugging enabled. I did this and it worked for me
thank you very much
i did enable USB debugging and i repeated the process but unfortunately i faced the same problem i stuck on boot screen "black background with white "Sony Ericsson" text" i assumed that its default to stay on this screen for a while but i Waited for several minutes and nothing happened..
any idea why ? and what i have to do in order to root properly ?
thank in advanced.
Which version of flashtool r u using...
Xperia X10[LB, DoomV06-FS with FeraV19]
First upadate ur phone using SEUS..
Or(if the above don't work)
flash it using flashtool( put ur desired firmware in firmware folder and then flash)
Use the latest flashtool(0.7.1. something) just one click to root ur phone using this flashtool.
Click on the second folder from left(padlock) in flashtool.. Ur phone vl b rooted.
For installing xrecovery click on the second from right folder( plus symbol)
Take the desired one and install it..
When a door is closed definitely there will b another door in open..
For all first u should have COURAGE.

Relax. Be confident.
Restore your phone with SEUS first.
And then use this method to root your phone :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1319653
Other methods involve confusing things. While rooting through this method, remember a few things :
(1) make sure u have installed adb drivers for ur device
(2) enable "USB DEBUGGING"
from (Menu\Settings\Applications\Development)
(3) enable "UNKNOWN SOURCES"
from (Menu\Settings\Applications)
(4) make sure flashtool is not running in the background.
It'll root your phone with just one click.
Then you can download xrecovery through flashtool.

after i turn on my phone it get stuck on black screen like arch.ahmed90 i try to waiting for a long time, almost 1 hour. but nothing happen my screen stuck at sony ericsson logo.
But the real problem is that my usb doesn't work now and i cannot connect the X10i to my computer. Is there a way to fix it?, i already read from other post but that doesn't help my problem.

Dear All,
I have a Sony Xperia U (European).
I used the update service to first competely update the phone to stock 4.0.4 (6.1.1.B.1.54)
Then I did the procedure to get the key and unlock the bootloader. That all worked fine.
Then I tried to do the root of the backup and restore. But I understand that doesn't work anymore.
So I found the following:
1. Flash ics 6.1.1.b.1.10 Kernel
2. Root with flashtools
3. Flash ics 6.1.1.b.1.54 Kernel
I have the drivers installed from the Flashtool folder. And the fastboot mode and flashboot drivers work in order.
After flashing the older kernel with the Flashtool the phone reboots and after that I when it boots everything become distorted and unresponsive.
I can see part of the OS and try to touch and 'something' will happen. But it doesn't seem to be normal.
The only thing I can do then is use the flashtool to relock the bootloader and then the update service to reflash back to stock again.
I have first search the whole subforum and read everything. But I can't seem to fine something about this.
Am I missing something?
The screen does go dark and awful using the older kernel. Just let it take its time to load and u can just about make out the screen to use the root tool. Although.... If you're bootloader unlocked just fastboot an auto rooting kernel

Phone Died?
Well for some reason the phone doesn't turn on anymore.
I thought I 'overdrained' it, so I put it all night long to charge it. But this morning still the same and it won't turn on.
The small red led just right of the camera lits up when I connect the charger so he sees something but what?
Cannot get in flash or fastboot mode. However sometimes I see the phone out of itself turn on the illumination bar (green) for just a few seconds.
The phone itself does nothing. But I'm thinking of a brick, unless someone else has some ideas?
Take these steps...may help

Try this...
1. Take out the battery and sim and leave it for minutes...then take in the sim and then battery.
2. connect the phone to a charger and wait for minimum 25 seconds and see what happenes...if some positive response you get...leave it charging as it is for some time minimum half hour.
[Before doing 3rd step download latest stock firmware 6.1.1.C.1.0 for your phone.(Please be sure for thats a stock original firmware)] - Search It-> [Stock ROM] Firmware 6.1.1.C.1.0 FTF ICS Xperia U - T-Mobile (Croatia)
3. connect your phone with the pc in flashmode and flash this firmware.
4. After flashing Restart the phone and wait for the setup and then you get then the power off button on your mobile screen, power off it.
5. Download TheBrains Recovery - Search it [Its a kernel having CWM Recovery Prerooted]
6. Now connect your phone in fastboot mode [While connecting your phone to pc press and hold Volume Up button]
7. Select a kernel to flash [Kernel that you downloaded just now]
8. After flashing unplug usb and restart your phone, when Sony logo appears and phone vibrates press Volume Up button again and again then you will come to CWM Recovery Menu.
9. Then from recovery wipe cache. and wipe dalvich cache [In advance option]
10. Now restart your phone and wait...and leave it for 5 mins.
11. Now your phone is updated and prerooted safely and smoothly... and yes ready for installing any stock based ROM or Custom ROM[which are based on latest C.1.0 firmware].

Unfortunately I cannot do step 3.
He just will not go into flashmode, tried different cables but that doesn't work. He won't go into fastboot either.
I've taken out the battery and sim for 5 days. Just to be sure . But I'm thinking it's bricked. This has never happened to me before.
I have unlocked and flashed many phones (mostly HTC's and Samsungs), but this is a first with Sony, hmm and first time a brick.

I had the same problem while rooting my phone too.
Follow These:
1.Install the latest PC Companion on your computer. It auto updates if you have it installed on your computer.
2.Download the kernels 6.1.b.1.10 and 6.1.b.1.54 and Flashtool. Make sure you have usb debugging on even before you flash the kernels.
3. With the help of flashtool flash your phone on .10 kernel reboot. The launcher might turn black and become unresponsive so enable usb debugging before flashing itself.
4. Start your phone after flashing .10 and connect to your computer.
5.Start Bin4ry v17 or v18. It a cmd file developed by a dev on xda. Just search for it. Rooting via flashtool wont work. Use Bin4ry
6. Press 1 and follow the steps. after the phone finishes rooting it it'll restart and confirm it.
7. Switch off your phone and flash 54 kernel
8. Pretty sure it'll work!
Worked for me! Hope it helped

I had the exact same problem, I created a guide to help other people with this problem. Here it is. I can't post links yet but if you want to have a look, search for this on google ( oneplus : Xperia z2 bricked help!! ) It's the first link ( fourms Oneplus Net )

To get Sony's UI/ROM back:
Download and Install Flashtool from here.
Download a proper ( official ) ftf firmware for YOUR phone ( eg Sirius ).
Now copy the downloaded ftf firmware file to ( C:\Flashtool\firmwares )
Open the Flashtool and click on the little lightning rod and choose Flashmode.
Now a window will pop up and ask you to choose firmware for your device, Choose the one you downloaded and click flash.
--------Choosing a wrong one WILL further brick your device--------
Meanwhile, turn your phone completely off, To do this hold the Power button and the volume UP button until you feel your phone vibrate 3 times.
Flashtool will pop up saying you need to put your phone into flash/fastboot mode.

Now put it on fastboot/flash mode ( connect the usb to your computer and hold down the volume up button while plugging the other end to your phone. Your phone's LED should be blue at this stage.
The flashing process will start and once it's done, Flashtool will ask you to unplug the device and restart the phone.
