Galaxy Player wont detect on Resurrector - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

So i followed all of adam's instructions, beside downloading virtual box, well i didn't know how to install it on linux , nor i didnt know what to do with it if it was installed, so i downloaded unbrickable resurrector, drivers , on linux , i plug up the player but it wouldn't detect. PLEASE ANYONE HELP ME! i really miss interacting with my player.

Try holding the power button for about 5-10 seconds after/before you plug it in.

Nope nothing/

new to the vibrant, maybe i bricked it

i picked it up used with stock rom, no mods. i rooted, then installed nero v3 with voodoo and then v5 with voodoo.... then i tried a custom battery mod and it screwed my phone up... cant get past the vibrant start screen, cant read the ext sd and the phone drivers will not work... computer detects it, but no drivers are installed. i have used the 32 bit driver 64 bit drivers, kies, kies mini, odin v1 and v1.7, still nothing... i can get into cwm recovery, but only with voodoo enabled, and can get into download mode, but i cant seem to get the computer to read it. have used 4 different computer, win 7 and 32 bit xp....also have tried drivers with pdanet and easy tether, but still no luck... can you offer any help to me??? thanks in advance.
as of u have done so much and nothing helped i would cry , and for not readin on how to unbrick your phone right on top of the forum you should cry too .
and if look good enough every 3rd thread that is made is how to unbrick the phone
@bartek
OK...OMG dude... you had like 5 posts 3 days ago...how are you helping this individual out other then giving him all your illegible ramblings that you are posting and ridiculing individuals as you go .. I'm sry, I don't mean to rant but damn...
Anyway OP, your just soft bricked. If you can get into d/l mode then I would either go ahead and ODIN back or if you can get into CWM recovery and you still have Nero 5 in your root, I would just reflash it and it should take care of it...enable voodoo when you flash Nero 5 ..you should be ok.
First off, I have been searching the forums for almost two weeks now and cannot find a solution....I have tried everything......the first problem is that no matter what drivers I use, the computer still says usb device not recognized, so I cannot get odin or heimdall to communicate, neither kies or kies mini.....
Well, now I turned it on this morning and I cannot get into cwm or dload mode.....just keeps bootlooping and linda talks and says riskful operation, then reboots......I am lost, don't know what else to do, I'm gonna throw this phone out the window

I gotcha.... not to sound like an idiot but have you tried a different usb port? If your using one on the front, try ones in the back if your on a desktop.. if that doesnt work try running ODIN in XP SP3 compatibility mode

I think he's saying that odin doesn't detect his phone and therefore doesn't light up yellow. Happened to me too. I'm on the epic. I tried everything. But odin finally found my device. Try different usb ports, a different wire, reboot both phone and pc. Switch between usb debugging on and off. Try it with sideloading enabled and not. I eventually found a combimation that worked. These phones are fickle. It'll work eventually.

As far as I know, ODIN wont recognize your phone without being in download mode and drivers installed on your computer.

No I believe you need the correct drivers installed. At this point either your missing something or don't have the correct driver to install. Maybe someone can point out where all the proper drives are for you to download
speachless ....if u wont follow what i wrote im helpless.goodbye. and why u turning your phone on dude download mode is battery out phone connected to ANY usb port hold vol up vol down hold all time and puit battery in
if that doesent help your phones usb is **** or the cable is ****
btw, i have tried installing all the proper driver from the proper threads... 32 bit, 64 bit, ive tried kies and kies mini for vibrant, heimdall drivers also.... NOTHING WORKS...
i appreciate everones help... thank you.
This is what I do to get it working. I open odin first and load all the needed files.
I then plug the usb cord into the usb first before plugging it into the phone.
with odin open and the phone completely off. I hold down the volume rocker and plug in the usb. I get download mode to work almost everytime.
For me the stock cable I got with mine doesnt work. I have to use a different cord or it acts like it doesnt see my phone.

[Q] Bricked S5830 ! Abnormal brick mode ...

Hi guys and gals !
So a few days ago i rooted/flashed my friends s5830 regular way and uploaded VillainRom, yesterday he came by my house for he has tried to upload LucaRomv2 by using Rom Manager.
As a result the phone stays dead at "Samsung" logo on regular boot, altough if we plug it in the pc it will detect the modem, sd card(not acessing it for it must have usb debugging enabled) and all, just the screen that doesnt pass "Samsung" logo.
So the logical next step is if we have communication is to press the magic buttons VOL- + Home + power ON, and it does work for it goes to download mode, the only problem is has soon has i plug it on my VM (VBox 4.0) it just spits out usb error on VBox and does not connect.
I have tried all combinations Volume+ (flash mode) all enters, its just that when i plug it to VM it spits out an error.
I can even enter recovery mode by HOME+POWER (and for the looks of the register that show when i enter it it complains it cant find /data, /cache .... so my guess is Bootloader is still ok has it enters all these modes and just need to re-upload rom(basically the os)
So leading to usb error in VM i prompted to fully test my VMUSB everything works ok connecting it (storage drive, my vodafone smart, usb cam) and even the s5830 itself while on regular usb connection. This has worked ok before for this is the computer/vm i used it to flash it originally.
Just to relief up i will try the following today:
Clean format a physical computer with winxp and try do the process without VM in the middle
Should i make the usb jig with 301K ? Has anyone actually tried usb jig on ace ? Whats different from this mode to regular vol- + home + power ? From what it seems its factory download mode i guess, an alternative bloader.
In case of JTAG needed does anyone have flash specs ? I mean offsets and such ... i have access to JTAG tools here at work, just a matter of pinout and see if cpu/flash supported.
What is your general opinion about this ?
I have launched this thread for i have not found any info on this kind of situation, people usually have fully bricked (black screen) or can still access download mode and communicate with pc, i have not found similar characteristics.
Thank you !!
Did your friend a wipe after flashing the rom? If not then go to recovery and wipe Dalvik cache - cache and Data/factory reset.
If this doesn't work put the phone in Download Mode and flash with Odin and after this make a wipe.

steini81: I dont know exactly what he did, i have tried to wipe it via recovery manager but still no go, it still complains on missing mounts /data /cache .... as for flashing with odin i can start download mode on the phone but has soon has i connect it on the usb port of the computer it just gives out an error and does not go online.
Lovetz: I already read that post, the difference is i still can go to download mode, my problem is when i plug on pc it doesn´t go thats why i opened another thread.

Maybe it´s just Virtualbox playing it´s pranks with async usb, can only eliminate this chance later on for i dont have the sga with me.
how about using a different machine? a machine with the drivers from Kies..
Try it on a Windows PC with Odin and Kies Drivers installed.

Mundix: I´m already using skeys drivers, tried killing processes and not killing them, but this subject goes further then that because i think i have usb connectivity issues, now, it worked ok when i first flashed this device maybe something corrupted my usb1/2 modules for virtualbox (btw running debain squeeze-> virtualbox -> xpsp3, with full usb 2.0 extension loaded (already tried only usb 1.0 only has it has helped before on the first flash). Plus all usb devices work ok, including the samsung itself on "normal" boot so i dont know, maybe has its a raw dump vbox doesnt like it Later on i will format a computer with xpsp3, load skeys, odin and start from there,so basically you agree with my point
Steini81: yeps thats what im gonna do, but i do not use any windows machines all obsd/debian at home and work so ... only virtual, i´ll grab an old borrowed laptop and format it just for this.
-------------------------
Once again i just opened the thread because i havent found anyone with same situation, either its fully bricked or they can usb plugin. No post until now for usb download mode crash. I will follow up here maybe it might help someone in the future, or will confirm brick altough bloader boots and phone detected on "normal" mode.

My sister's Backflip had a similar issue . All I did was to wipe EVERYTHING then reflash .
Sent from my Awesome Ace with fla.sh ROM and TAPATALK
SOLVED !
1 st Run:
Clean XPSP3 *Laptop* - "Unrecognized USB device ...", exactly has ocurring in VM.
No go.
2 nd Run:
USB JIG (tried 299K, 300K, 301K and 302K accurate resistors 1% tolerance) followed by above method.
No go.
3 rd Run:
Load WIN7PRO on a desktop for s-kies was giving problems with framework4 on XPSP3.
No go. "Unrecognized usb ..." just like on the laptop with XPSP3
Thats when it hit me, "some" devices(MODEM, STORAGE) load ok, odin driver does not, so it does have partial usb communication, this made me go way back in time when i had a USB MSI WIFI that would only work stable under USB 1.0 and was buggy under 2.0, so ...
Step 1 - Take the dust out that powered USB 1.0 Hub from drawer;
Step 2 - Make pigtail from internal desktop 12Vcc to power usb hub for Vcc stability
for power supply been lost like 4 house moves ago(yes i could go external powerless but ... just in case);
Step 3 - Cook a good home meal and mix it with some fine red wine;
Step 4 - Hook up usb hub, let win7 install, hook up SGA while on DOWNLOAD MODE (Vol- + Home + Power) and you can have the batery installed, no need to hot plug it, connect to usb hub.
Step 5 - Be amazed has it detects "Odin" has a new device and Odin square turns yellow just waiting for you to press start ...
*Personal Note : Do not stand up quickly after step 3 !
Now, the funny thing is if i move the USB 1.0 HUB to the XP SP3 Laptop its also a go, same results for in my Virtualbox install. Notice i tried it on 2 physical/1 virtual computer under VBOX4.
In conclusion:
If your SGA still boots to "samsung" and lets you get in Download/Flash/Recovery but gives out an USB communication errors, but still installs some devices like MODEM/Storage, all of this after a run from ROM MANAGER, please *DO* try to put an usb 1.0 hub between your computer and your SGA.
At this moment it works like a charm and i´ve just uploaded coderom.v2x-02, altough if i remove the USB HUB its back on the same problem, trough the hub it works ok aside i have 1.0 transfer speeds ...
Now, some help on debugging, arent there any logs on the system i could analyse? Should i dump trough JTAG ? What could of happened so that it has this symptom now ?
Anyways thanks for those who tried to help, just hope this helps someone in the future !

Yes usb debugging is on but it still wont pick it up in downloading mode.
Try a different computer or try using a different version of odin3. I use version 1.85 and it works perfectly with my galaxy player and my friends s2

First of all, make sure you've got the right version of odin that works with your device. I can't remember which one it is, but searching the forums for player, odin version should get you the answer you need.
Also, if you've used heimdall before (and installed the libusb drivers for it) you'll need to turn heimdall's usb driver off.
If you haven't used heimdall before, you might want to try that instead of Odin. I've never had any luck flashing a kernel/rom with Odin, but heimdall works for me every time.

[Q] Where to find someone to recover Galaxy Player 5.0 stuck in dev. mode?

I have a Galaxy Player 5.0 stuck in SEC S5PC110 Test B/D mode. I went through Adam's process for UnBrickable Mod - installing virtual machine, Linux, etc. and can get the PC to recognize the device as a Samsung device, however, when I get to the steps in Odin, I keep getting a repartition operation failed message. After searching the forums, asking questions, etc. for over three weeks, I'm ready to quit.
Is there anyone who restores devices stuck in this mode who knows a lot more about it than I do? If so, who and about how much would it cost? Don't even know if it's worth the time and $$.
Thanks in advance.

I used "GalaxyPlayerPart.pit" and "GalaxyPLayerDownloadModeOnly.tar" listed in this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1386669 Galaxy Player 5.0 Bootloader *ONLY* Hard Brick Recovery
I just noticed in the list of steps, it said to load:
-Your OWN copy of Windows installed in Virtualbox
-Samsung drivers installed on Virtual Windows Machine
-The GalaxyPlayer-Bootloader.zip downloaded into Windows
I have Linux installed on a virtual machine and Windows on the PC itself rather than having Windows running in Virtual. Would that make any difference?
I had to select the Galaxy S option in UnBrickable Mod because that's the only option that will allow the computer to recognize it as a Samsung device. If I select the Galaxy Player option it still shows in development mode.

If you don't select Galaxy Player, then I don't think it's going to work. Did you hold unto the power button? Did you install Ubuntu? You have to install Ubuntu, run the Unbrickable Mod in Linux/Ubuntu, and then force download mode in Linux. Afterwards, you switch to Windows (you could do it in the VM, but it worked for me when I switched to the REAL Windows - used my desktop computer instead of my laptop, too) and flash the stock ROM below.
Stock ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432936
Iirc, I don't think I got the files in the Hard Brick Recovery thread to work.

I did install Ubuntu on the VM, didn't hold the power button (it won't power on at all - not just stuck, but I'll try that). No matter how many times I try it with the Galaxy Player option, it still shows up in Ubuntu in the VM as in dev mode rather than a Samsung device.
This will really show my stupidity (if it's not already obvious), but if I can get the Win7 computer to recognize the player as a Samsung device using the Galaxy S mode in UnBrickable Mod, can I use pit and bootloader files for the Galaxy S in Odin?

The same thing happened to me, twice. The only difference was, my Galaxy Player froze up, rebooted, and got stuck on the "Samsung" screen. I wonder what caused this. There may have even been a time where it wouldn't turn on, for some time.

Not sure what the rules are for posting links/urls so I hope I'm not breaking any but here's one to some blank flashes just incase you didn't already visit there.
lolinet mirrors - firmware, software, iso etc.
lolinet mirrors - powered by h5ai
mirrors.lolinet.com
The one I used was: blankflash_borneo_usc_RZBS31.Q2-143-27-11-1.zip
I use Ubuntu and occasionally Windows 7 because I'm not a fan of anything made after that but I was having some trouble getting it to work through Linux. (possibly because I'm an amateur and didn't want to work to hard to get it to work). As soon as I switched to Windows 7 and started the .bat file it worked first try so hopefully that helps a little. Try them all if one doesn't work.
The build I was on prior to brick was: motorola/borneo_retail/borneo:10/QZB30.Q4-43-35/7ad68:user/release-keys
But like I said the one I posted worked fine but I had to do it on windows not Linux so I'd highly recommend giving that a try.
After it flashed and rebooted back into fastboot I used LSMA (Lenovo Smart Assistant) and had it detect and download the correct firmware and then just flashed it through fastboot.
If Windows doesn't detect the drivers press and hold the power+volume down buttons together for about 20 seconds or until you see it appear. Unplug and plug back in and then do that again if it didn't work but it should without having to download drivers separately I believe.
I'm not sure if it's required but I had "driver integrity checking disabled" and it was in "test mode build 7601" both can be set through the windows command prompt but I don't remember windows commands at all so Google would be your friend on that one if it's even needed. That was also doing it on Windows 7.
Just a reminder I'm not an expert just a normal guy who's dealt with it and this fixed it for me. Try at your own discretion although you don't have much to lose once your in hard brick territory I suppose.
Best of luck.
still don't recognizing my devices when i have windows 10 install and i hold volume down power
Look up Qualcomm QDLoader drivers for windows 10. Possibly called QCOM HS-USB Loader 9008 or something along those lines. If it's not even throwing an error just says waiting for device it's a driver issue not even being able to notice a device is plugged in.
Like I mentioned also make sure driver integrity enforcing is disabled and Enable test mode build 7601 if that's still a feature(s) that apply to windows 10.
i have anther issue it don't show ports on windows 10 after i install drivers
no port tab at all and i have the drivers install and it still don't recognizing my devices when i have the drivers install and i hold volume down power for 2Min and 1Min still nothing
