How to totally silent Android Jianyu G2 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all
I bought this phone after reading many good reviews. Happy with it. But I need a little help.
I am using a pre-paid SIM card (Singtel Hello). And each time I call out or use SMS, the balance in the card is reduced (of course). Issue is that G2 will pop out a message with a LOUD melody (from Telco I guess) to remind me of the remaining money balance. This is fine in most cases.
BUT I want to silence that as I am using this phone in a quiet environment. I set to silent (yes, no ringing tone, key touch etc) but still that operator message of balance left is still as loud as before. I even downloaded apps that silence the phone like Silent toggle Widget still not avail.
Any way to set to really NO SOUND for the Telco message?
Thanks a lot!

Bluetooth options and vibrate mode modifications.

Here is the deal; my girlfriend is deaf, we both have Moguls (they are awesome). We have a couple of things we are trying to tweak.
1. We purchased a Bluetooth Bracelet (http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/cellphone/9e31/). It is pretty neat, it vibrates when a call is coming in so she can have her phone in her purse or whatever. However, when she gets an SMS it doesn't vibrate (since she is deaf, she doesn't get calls, just gets SMS). The bracelet details say SMS alerts work on some phones... anyone have any ideas to change the SMS to act exactly like phone?
2. (disregard bracelet for this option) We would like to set certain contacts on her phone SMS to alert diffently. For example, if I SMS her it vibrates once, for 3 seconds. If her mom calls, it vibrates twice, for 1 second each, etc. Any suggestions?
You may want to try putting Jetware Mobile on the phone. The reason I say this is that it does have options for transmitting SMS via bluetooth (which does not come standard). Can't say whether it works well because the handsfree in my car doesn't support SMS either.
For the vibration settings, I know that PhoneAlarm has a way to modify the vibrations on the phone, but don't know whether its for all, or can be customized for each contact.
Both of these products are well supported by the developers, and allow you to try before buying.

Not getting missed calls?

Hey guys,
I'm with Vodafone (Australia) and lately I've been working in my garage a fair bit where I don't have reception. During this time numerous people have called me, however I don't receive any notifications of missed calls at all. And when I go into phone log it doesn't show any call logs.
Is this a setting on the phone or should I contact Vodafone to get this sorted?
Cheers
Good question Jonno. I'm also with Voda & honestly couldn't remember if this feature was working properly or not as I haven't missed a call for ages (people know not to call me at unsociable hours when I have the phone switched off ).
Soooo...I plonked my mobile broadband sim into my Nokia backup phone, turned my SGS2 to flight mode (to mimic not having coverage), called it from the Nokia & let it ring half a doz times then hung up.
Switched the SGS2's radio back on & haven't received a missed call notification (it's been almost 5 minutes). I've searched high & low thru my call settings & can't find anything that would turn such a feature on/off so I'm betting it's a network related thing. I'll update this post if the missed call notification comes thru at any stage tonight.
Yeah I've never got any missed call notifications with the phone. I have people trying to get on to me regarding some recent job applications so it's not very useful if I miss their calls and don't know who to call back!
Might try calling Voda tomorrow to see if they know anything about it...
Jonno...The thick plottens
I was ferreting around in the dialer/call settings & had a look at the call forwarding settings. Basically, forward when busy/unanswered/unreachable is set to that Voda number people who try to call you get when you don't answer & it asks whether you want Voda's "call catcher" to txt the person you're try to call to let them know they missed your call (with the number to call back on).
When I try to disable this feature on any of busy/unanswered/unreachable it tells me the network doesn't allow the feature to be turned off. So it seems Voda thinks their way of people being able to notify you by txt when you miss their call is the best way (only way by the looks of it) for this situation to be handled.
So I'd say people obviously haven't been choosing the option to send you a notification txt (via Voda's call catcher) and have simply been hanging up when they've been unable to reach you.
I guess the only way to get around this is to tell people to use the send notification txt option or to simply send you a txt themselves to say they tried to call & couldn't get you.
Unless you want to have fun calling Voda's uber helpful support ?

[Q] Phone Rings Once, then stops

Hi!
My phone rings once, then stops ringing. I can still answer calls, but I have to be looking at the phone in order to see that there is an incoming call. I use Zedge and switched ringtones to make sure it wasn't a corrupt file, but no luck so far.
Thanks for your help
You probably have quiet ring on pickup activated so when you move the phone the motion silences the phone.
If you want to turn it off go to settings-sound- scroll down to quite ring on pick-up and UN check, that should take care of it.

General question about "do not disturb" mode

Hello, I have a question here,
Got marshmallow running on my HTC One m8.
There is no silent mode anymore as in no sound and no vibration. What's there now is the do not disturb feature which basically does the same. But Accidentally I had it set to accept calls only from contacts.
What I can not find out now is, does this actually and actively block and deny any calls of unknown numbers without logging them or showing in any way that this person tried to call me, or does it just not show full screen call notification when I receive a call of unknown numbers?
Hope someone can shed a light on this.

Hi! Google replaced Do Not Disturb feature with Silent in Lollipop 5.0 and it was reported that they will bring Silent back at a later stage. Anyways, the Do Not Disturb feature in Android phones does not decline calls automatically like iPhone's Do Not Disturb, it only silents your phone and if you have selected 'Contacts Only' then it will only ring if someone from your contacts call you otherwise it will remain silent and notify you of the call or text (or whatever) and your screen will turn on while a call is being received.
HIT THANKS IF I HELPED YOU!
Okay thanks! Was worried I'll miss calls or something.
I tried it out in the meantime, asked a friend whose number I don't have to call me. I didn't ring loud regardless whether I set accept all calls, or contacts only. It rung silently but the call came through in both cases.

why does my phone hae two ringers?

i get two separate ringers when I have an incoming call the one that is set by the system and another that is just a chirping ring. I don't understand where this chirping ring is coming from or how to disable it. Here are some log files that I have been scouring to try to find what sets off the secondary ringer even if Do Not Disturb or total silence is enabled. The chirping ring will stay active through the entire call until you end it. i am using CM13 for the boost mobile samsung j3, sm-j320p.
this is the link to the rom.
