Hey!
I´m developing an application for backing up different kinds of information stored in a smartphone.
Therefore I need to send the data from my device to another hardware, I want to realize it via Bluetooth but.
I use a bluetooth - module called "JY-MCU" for the external hardware I send the data to.
So faar so good, the only problem I have is the bluetooth connection which breaks up while sending the data.
E/bt-btif ( 905): unknown send() error, sent:-1, p_buf->len:93, errno:32
That's the LogCat entry I got.
I googled the errors but was not able to find any answer...I hope you guys can help me interpreting this error.
Thanks

Hey Guys,
I'm running WM5, 1.50g for more than a week now.
Its simply wonderful.
there are some compatibiltiy issues witih the S/Ws now; but that'll be there. we were able to use this OS before the release thats the big thing.
I'm looking for two piece of info here.
1> Wireless USB modem is not working - does anyone have any idea? inputs on this? (i didnt try to mix this topic with non-woking buttons; hope thats okay and we can close the topic as soon as its resolved)
2> I'm on 1.50g now and able to use large amount of storage mem. I was running 1.60a earlier and cud not use large mem (just about 14M for storage) where I had to store all my email data and the loaded S/Ws. due to the space crunch; I had to come back to 1.50g.
As the 1.60a is faster (i heard so - cud not test and fall back to 1.50g imm.) and i'd like to go for that. Does anyone has got any idea how to make use of the 120MB memory in 1.60a to be used for my email storage and to be able to load S/Ws and data on it?
Thanks in advace.
Wireless USB modem on WM5
hey guys,
just reviewing whether anyone has contributed!
I saw another thread "Warning WM5 1.60a and Extended _rom" and I think, I can get around a way on how to make use of that 120mb program memory in 1.60a and i'll definitely going to try that once I hv the steps with me.
as regards the Wireless USB Modem; I think i'm the only person who's facing this issue or may be fewer ppl. if anyone's using I-mate PPC phone with WM5 with working application (wireless USB modem) please share ur configuration with me.
thanks.
Updating the topic to expand the audiance and expacting at least one response
I am also having a problem with the USB Modem... It says "com open error (8)"
hello Duan,
have u found any resolution yet?
Nope... And after searching around the net I still have had no success.
Hey Guys,
I'm switching back to the WM2K3 SE now. I think its high time; we do not have any idea about the USB modem functionalities that's most important while we use the device as a modem while away from home or office.
I was okay with Camera, Record and all other facilities not available. I'm not in for all those flashy features but I have to have my Voice and Data connectivity inplace thats more than important for me anytime.
So, Guys; please please let me know once we have a solution for the Wireless USB / BT modem.
Thanks.
Wireless Modem on WM5
Went back to the 1.60b now coz i thought I have now got the BT adapter / dongle.
However, I'm not able to use the BT wireless modem with the adapter itself.
as I said.. as soon as i start the wireless modem application the signal indicator doesnt show the cross mark on it and continue show the signal strength. otherwise I think my lappy is able to detect the phone and everything works fine except the modem application.
I downgraded to a couple of versions of SE now (I have now forgotten how many times I flashed my device - guys let me know if its harmful to flash the device multiple times - now a days its about almost everyday I flash my device, thanks to my exch servr that hold my data). I tried 2.20SE I also tried the latest one thats been converted to english by Buzz and tried to start the BT modem application - no luck - same symptoms.
and again I flashed my device with 1.60b (along with the DCR ). However, the BT modem or USB modem issue is not resolved.
I'd really appreciate if someone can help me with the Modem application PLEAZEEE - PLEAZEE.
THANKS A LOT IN ADVANCE --
Yeah forgot to tell ya - I'm using iMate Pocket PC Phone Edition.
Guys, please try this configuration on WM5 as bluetooth modem, remove any connection on 'My Isp', start wireless modem application & dial...
FYI, I use 1.06b rom & billionton usb dongle. Btw I can't determine which modem type it use (cell line / gprs / etc.).

while i have not gotten the wireless modem to work, i have successfully started and seen the connection icon turn yellow. having written that, i started getting the "com open error" after adding com ports under bluetooth set-up. deleting those ports under bluetooth eliminated the error for usb in wireless modem application.
separately, in order to see the modem in my phone & modem control panel, i had to press start in wireless modem prior to tethering the device to my thinkpad.
btw, i am running wm5 on a ppc6700 (cdma/ev-do version of the htc apache, i believe.)

I upgraded to Spiaatie WM6.5 v3 - I get this message when I turn on my hx2750 - 'Unrecognized Card'
In the HP Wi-Fi Manager the link status says - 'Driver Not Loaded'
and in the version tab all three fields in the wireless LAN Information say
'Driver Not Loaded'
I have tried reinstalling v2 which worked before - Same problem and not all aspects of v3 removed such as the start up screen.
I have installed a wm6.1 version and this still did not solve the problem.
I have also tried going back to wm2003 from the HP site and again still missing drivers.
NONE of these options have worked.
I have searched all sorts of forums and even though others have had this problem NO solution has been posted.
Is this a hardware, Software or Registry problem?
If will test any options provided as I would really like to get it working again.
Any solution found will be posted in detail.
Many thanks in advance.
It would appear that if you went back to WM5 and even WM2003 and it still does not work then it's possible its a hardware issue. You may be out of luck with software fixing it. I'm running it with no problem and have not heard of anyone else having these issues. Especially with every version of software.
Thanks for getting back to me. I guess I will try taking it apart and seeing if any wires have come loose.
I anyone has any suggestions as to what to look for that would be good.
or if anyone has any other ideas as to how I might fix this please let me know.
I might go in Ebay and see if I can get a cheep Compact flash wireless card but would prefer not to as I use that to store data and music on while I use the SD card for Programs and TomTom data
Thanks
Update

Is there anyone who speaks russian who can help me?
File up0015.cab
Here is the file you are looking for.
I have seen the same problem with the "driver not loaded" message on my
HX2790. Solved the problem by doing a hard reset if I remember correctly.
Since I haven't used this file myself I must stress that using it is at your own risk.
The file was made by the great cook Yurrix and can also be found on his website. That is where I got it from.
Website is: http://all2me.blogspot.com/2008/02/15.html
Hope this helps.

Update
Hi
Many thanks for the file.
However unfortunatly it did not work.
In my settings screens it updated my Network Adapter list to include a SAMSUNG WLAN CF CARD (SWL-23x0)
Did a Hard reset after - Calendar + Message + Power and reset - to get to Formating PS screen.
Now Network Adapter list says HP iPAQ Wi-Fi Adapter
However the HP Wi-Fi Manager says
Status - Link Status - Driver Not Loaded
Version - Wireless LAN Infromation - Driver Version: Driver Not Loaded
F/W Version : Driver Not Loaded
MAC Address : Driver not Loaded.
I then ran the inbuilt self test. This seems to give a false result if I test only the Wi-Fi it hangs but if I test it with other items it says it passes. But i don't believe it.
I now think my card is dead as someone told me earlier.
But I had to try.
Thanks to all who helped.
Here is the 0016wifi cab made by Yurrix.
same problem
Same problem as above, but I tried switching wireless cards with another hx2795 (one that won't charge the battery) and found they both work (just not connecting through the software or possible hardware path). I applied both the xxx15 fix and the xxx16wifi fix and neither one works.
if I can't find the answer, I will just have to use one as a battery charger and the other as my pda. . .
if anyone knows of a fix, please let me know.
thanks
Working on modding a rom, but I can't figure this out - the internet works, I can browse just fine, send and receive text messages and calls, but when i try to set up Google I get an error saying I don't have a network connection OR a reliable connection can't be established. here's the logcat from the portion I think is causing the problem.

Anyone know what might be causing this? Do you need any more information from me? I've checked and double checked, my APN information is all correct and I have a connection from T-Mobile.
OK, I think I figured out the problem - Google settings provider says (logcat) it was built for SDK 7 and this rom is running 6. I tried to simply trick the system to think it was 7 by editing the build.prop but that didn't change a thing.
I've also gotten several logcat errors on boot that say "wrong APN" even though it actually has the right APN (I can receive calls, make them, browse the web, etc) and I've confirmed by APN settings with T-Mobile.
Finally, I'm also getting some errors in logcat saying that the apk's were made for AOSP, but this is a release (Hero port). Not really sure where to start looking for a resolution.
I'm still reading through pdk.android.com, all of cyan's information and a ton of other documentation from other coders, btu I can't find direct reference to these problems. How do I delve deeper into my logcat? Where do I find information on these problems?
Any suggestions on the best way to track this down would be helpful and more than appreciated, I'm still elarning HOW to debug.
I'm just looking for a point in the right direction, something I can research - you don't have to fix the problem for me
EDIT: I think it might actually be the libs - specifically android_runtime and android_servers
Hi everyone,
I have searched far and wide regarding this matter, and I have not found anything useful regarding the Vibrant. I'm relatively new to Android's internals, I've only started messing around with my Vibrant 5 days ago.
What I'm trying to do is write AT commands to my modem and read the response. I found that apparently many Android devices (mostly HTC from what I've read) have a serial port called /dev/smd0 which can write and receive information from the GSM modem. I've been trying to search for the equivalent /dev/smd0 in the Samsung Vibrant (at least in my device there is no /dev/smd0).
I'm running the stock version of Android (2.1 update 1; Eclair). Baseband version T959UVKA2; kernel version 2.6.29.
So far I've created multiple programs to help me log information and pinpoint the device used to communicate with the GSM modem. I've been using an arm compiler and statically binding resources to my programs (C code).
So far I have attempted to log communication through different devices and serial ports that are owned by the radio group. The only device that I was able to successfully read traffic from was /dev/dpram0. I created a program that acts as a proxy between communication from and to this device (is this a serial port?). All the communication is encoded, which is the main problem I've faced to determine if this is actually the channel to send and receive AT commands. I've time-stamped my log and checked it against logs from logcat -b radio, and I believe I have found encoded AT data... but I cannot verify this.
I have tried writing to /dev/dpram0, but I receive no response. I'm guessing that because I'm using plain text AT commands, the modem does not parse the data. I would expect some kind of response that indicates an error code, but nothing has been received so far.
I have confirmed, however, that data regarding my contacts saved to the SIM card is transferred through this device. Logcat's output is nicely decoded, while the raw data is encoded (I can see plain text strings though!).
Because the data is encoded and I have no idea if there is any kind of sensitive data in the streams received, therefore I'm can't post my whole logs... However, I'll be posting examples that I believe contain nothing sensitive or personal. If anyone is able to decode the data, and find sensitive data, please let me know!
logcat -b radio: excerpt
Code:
...
E/RIL ( 3181): ril.sw_ver=T959UVKA2
E/RIL ( 3181): ril.hw_ver=REV0.3
E/RIL ( 3181): ril.rfcal_date=2010.7.5
E/RIL ( 3181): ril.product_code=SGH-T959ZKBTMB
...
my program's captured stream: Please see uploaded file.
The file contains what seems to be some type of encoded code.
Nutshell: Where are AT commands written to so the GSM modem can read them?
If anyone is willing to point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks in advance!

I've been using a Galaxy SIII, already rooted and installed Omega 5.2 without any gsm service provider restrictions. (It's "Turkcell" by the way)
I've been experiencing a problem with BT.
There are no problems with enabling the BT, searching and pairing with any devices and also receiving files. But when I try to send any file to any device, I always get a message as "the file could not be sent". No more explainations..!
Here you may see a screenshot of my device properties as attached. (It's in Turkish but I highlighted the needed info).
What may be the problem and how can I fix it? Thanks for any tips and help.
Regards,
Burak
I'm getting this on stock as well. Looks like no one else is getting the same issue? I might need to get the device to the service center...
