I'm on an ATT Galaxy S3, Jellybean, rooted with TWRP installed but stock otherwise. Yesterday morning I installed Google Wallet using the method in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044362.
Install and sign up went fine.
Went to the store late last night and my card was declined. Checked with the bank and discovered that someone in Toronto Canada had made 3 purchases with my number, a little over $700.
Is there a security issue with Google Wallet that I've not heard of? It's not like Google didn't already have my card number; that's how I pay for apps in the Play store. And the phone hasn't been out of my sight since I installed Wallet. I'm thinking they got my number from some other means, and the timing is coincidental, but don't really know. A search for Google Wallet security turns up nothing recent, and nothing relevant.
Any ideas?

I know people have asked questions similar to this before, but all of those threads seem to be from a while ago.
Does anyone know if there is anyway to get google wallet? We have NFC, why can't we use it?
Is there any other option to pay with NFC?
Thanks
Both Google and VZW say it's not our fault or we don't know, I asked a rep why they listed Google wallet as an advantage of having a smart phone but it wasn't offered and I got a non answer.
For other NFC VZW is part of IRIS which just launched but only in Salt Lake City and maybe one other place and it should be active on Inc 4G's there I think, it was part of the last update.

Isis tells me my device isn't comparable, I got the otb update at the beginning of the month. But it says I might need a new SIM card for it to work.
For anyone who wants to store gift cards like on google wallet or apple passbook, pass wallet does a great job.

You will need a new SIM, there is an encryption method used by Isis stored on the SIM.
Hi all. I noticed the other day that the option to bill directly to my account when purchasing something from the Play Store is no longer available to me.
It used to work but I hadn't bought an app in a while so I don't know when this happened. I called Verizon and they have no idea.
Anyone else have this problem? I'm on the 4.4.4 GPE ROM.
I just purchased a phone via ebay and it has been locked. The good news is that the Google locking seems to be pretty good. The bad news is the Google locking seems to be pretty good. I have found that some other phones have flaws that allow bypass of this lock. Anyone aware of something for the Moto e 2015?
I bought two XT1526's from Best Buy for $10 each on Black Friday for my two sons. I reset them both when I was going to activate them and one of them asks me for Google password. I have tried everything and I even believe we are using the correct password. OTG doesn't work on this phone so that method is a no go. There was another method that involves killing the wifi connection in the middle of verifying but I can not get that one to work.
If anyone does know a method for this phone I have not seen it posted anywhere.
have you tried any other method such as unlocking bootloader, flashing a custom ROM on it, etc....I just bought one off eBay for $7 and it said "Google Account Locked". This is the first time i've ever heard of a Google Account Lock on a phone...
Can confirm. There's a persistent security feature to prevent stolen phones from working after a reset. I'm not sure how to get around it.
Yes I bought a phone off a friend more acquaintance. It's not stolen or reported lost. It had no sim card nor micro sd card inside it was hard rest when I bought it. I can not get passed Google sign in. I typed my email over and over again nothing I accepted the device on my email alerts. I called Google to ask what can be done they said take to AT&T. I called AT&T explained again what the problem was. They said nothing they can do on there side take it to retail store they can crack it for me. So I took it to the store they looked at me like I was stupid. Left now on here hoping there is a solution. I called the company who made it they ran again the IMEI code again obviously same result not stolen nor lost. They can't help me they wanted m e to pay for shipping it in to where ever for a repair they claimed lol.
Other things I tried multiple hard resets clear cache. Same result. I tried even putting in a working sim card AT&T that I bought for it try clicking use the AT&T network to get the process started same result can't get past Google older email protection. I can not ask the dude I bought off for his password nor his gmail. Due to he uses yahoo. Now only and doesn't remember any of the sign in info.
Yeah, I feel ya there. This one so far has me baffled.
So I recently bought a Galaxy Note 8 for T-Mobile from someone off of Facebook for $350.
Everything seemed legit. Ran the IMEI to make sure the phone wasn't stolen, blacklisted, or still had any payments due on it. Everything came back fine!
After meeting up with the person and making the transaction I went inside, put my SIM Card in and powered on the device. So far so good. But once I got to the Google login page of the initial device setup an error message popped up stating.
"This Device was reset. To continue, sign in with A Google Account that was previously synced on this device."
Does anyone know how to either fix/bypass this???
I don't want to be out $350 and I would very much appreciate it!!!
Thank you.
