I think all minicm7-based ROMs support usb hosting... Of course, before being able to use minicm7, you will have to unlock your bootloader, flash a new kernel, etc.
If you don't understand what I just said, search the x10 mini forums, there are many tutorials regarding this...
Please press thanks if I helped .

There is a thread in the x10mini pro dev section for usb-host, with circuitry for the cable, but it won't work, it's not android related, it's just that our phones don't have a usb-host controller. They were trying to work around it but i think they've given up. Our phones don't have power-out on the usb-port for certain, so you would have to use an external power-source, but even then i doubt it works.

Can´t you use WIFI tethering? I know that definitely works.

You should test the Kernel from sibere, with this many devices including hdds should work, if ot your usb port is toasted...
You can find the kernel at urukdroid developement thread
@77claudio77:
You can't just use a normal microusb cable.
You need an OTG cable for example the Nokia ca-157

I have a micro usb cable from nokia the Ca-101D...
I reed that the usb port has only 100 ma of power...
can i increase to 500ma, like the 10.1??
thx
That cable doesnt work.
You really have to have an OTG cable because only if a Micro A cable is used the Archos goes into the other mode.

Good luck finding an OTG cable for Ray... you will have to make a ghetto one.
Hardware-wise it might most-likely be compatible, OTG is an MSM feature and the Ray has the same chipset as the Xperia Neo for example which has OTG.
OK i can only port the Kernel but I think this is only disabled in the Kernel.
I can copy the needed defconfig data into the ray defconfig
guys I brought a usb otg cable yesterday. I tried to connect pen drive it is not working but mouse and keyboard are working fine can somebody tell me how connect flash drive and what are the requirements and which kernel supports otg feature.....thanks
Try to download USB OTG Helper, then connect your flash drive, open the app and hit the mount button. It's working for me with Rage kernel and ICS

Hardware problem
I think your problem is a hardware problem.
I bought a cable with mini at one end and female usb on the other end, i guess is the same as you got.
It wasnt working at first and I had to strip open the mini tip of the cable to short pin 4 and 5 so the phone would recognize host mode.
Search for how to do a otg cable on the forum.
*****NOT SURE IF THATS YOUR PROBLEM****** but it happened to me so....
Good luck.

(ROOT+BUSYBOX)
FXP kernels don't support USB OTG by the way. And high memory (power-consuming)
flash drives cannot be detected. So if you hadn't, better try a 2 or 4gb drive.
If that doesn't work then I'm curious to know your phone model, ROM and kernel combo.

Hello, I'm new.............sorry for my bad english!
Some days ago I bought an OTG cable to connect a pendrive to my phone.
It doesn't work.
I think that 5380i doesn't support this type of connection.
Is there a program or a workaround to make it possible??
I downloaded this file from the forum, but I'm not sure that it works, and I don't want to damage my phone.

Dear All,
Does anyone know how to mount USB Stick to our device with OTG-Cable?
I have the cable, connect my LWW to USB Device but nothing happened.
I have tried some applications such : USB OTG Helper [root], [root] StickMount, USB Host Controller, Paragon exFAT, NTFS & HFS+ but none of them works :crying:
Please anyone help, I'm on LWW Fluorescent Feather ROM_Luminosity.
Thanks in advance.

I'm using stock kernel mate, my bootloader is still locked.
I didn't know that usb-otg has specific kernel requirement.
So, is that where the problem lies mate? the kernel?
Thank for the response
