Would be most grateful if anyone could lend me one.
Please please please, for 3 days Im trying to revert it back to stock but I reached a point where its just not possible.
I will paypal $10 to the person who can give me a backup or I don't know.
I'm desperate now.
Sorry for the rant.
Iirc.. NANDROID is device serial # specific.. Someone please clarify and help this guy out
Sig:
What do you mean I can't say that??!!.. It's the fkin Internet!
It still can be flashed in other devices. Back on my Moto Cliq days, a few developers created Nandroid Roms. If any one is going to hook it up then be sure to delete your data.

I need some help. I am not a noob. I have just rooted my girlfriends Samsung Fascinate and installed CWM 3.0.0.8 I went to do a backup / nandroid of the stock rom before I made changes and it came back that there was an error during backup process. Can someone help if you have come across this before or if you my just know what to do to get the backup to work.
cwm3 will not do nandroid backups of stock roms. You need to use cwm2.5.1.x if you want to nandroid a stock rom.

your welcome. Im probably on xda way more than I ought to be lol. I wasnt necessarily waiting on a reply...its just the simple fact I have given help or advice to many posters in the past and then they never respond to the thread. That pretty much makes the thread useless at that point. I thought this thread was going the same direction, but you responded. Thanks
I have had time to try the different CWM and this has fixed my issue. Thank you

Roughly a year ago I got my Sprint EVO 3D. As soon as the first *successful* root procedure was posted I followed it to root my phone. Nearly a year later I have had ZERO issues with my phone/service until about 2 weeks ago. My data speed is nearly non existent. My wife has the same phone with same root. Using the speedtest.net app "HER" phone will get 4 megs download. Mine.....0.12.
I called Sprint and they said they can find nothing on there end to indicate a problem. That it has to be a problem with my phone and I am to take it in and have it checked out. Obviously I can't take it in rooted. I am seeking help/advice to unroot my phone. I feel confident that I can do it, but am confused as to which procedure to use as I cannot remember the name of the root. To re-clarify, I used the FIRST working root that was ever posted.
Any/all help is GREATLY appreciated. I would like to apologize if this is posted in the wrong area. I mean no harm, no foul.
This should have been asked in Q&A. You have to download the ruu and relock your bootloader.
I am so sorry for the wrong area. Should I delete the thread and repost over there? Also do you have a link or push in the right direction to get the PROPER ruu?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20233529&postcount=1
Or do a Google search. Good luck.
Thank you so so so much (thanks button clicked on both your replies). When I first rooted my phone I was like "yes I did it". Now I feel like such a noob.
After some searching and trying my best to remember the root I used I believe I have found it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192245
Will the information you gave to me UNroot THIS particular root method?

Why not? According to internal documents, Sprint requires their employees to treat rooted users equally as unrooted. From everything I've read, no one has had problems taking rooted phones in (especially recently). Of course, YMMV.

Lesson learned man, no sweat a mod moved it for you. Any luck?
I never said Sprint said I couldn't take it in rooted. I am just trying to be thorough is all. The way my luck runs, had I posted I took a rooted phone in for servicing and was told I was screwed because it was rooted it would have been an absolute flame fest of replies LoL
At least this way I know. I can feel confident in what I am doing instead of going at it blind.

Thanks for the info. This seemed to help. I found a local shop through a friend that doesn't care if you are rooted or not. Still am going to try to unroot as it is just nice to know these things.
I have not got around to unrooting just yet. I have been extremely busy. Rest assured I will post as soon as I do (am hoping I can on the 4th) attempt it and share my results.

SORRY it has taken so long to reply. I have been dealing with some health issues. YES thanks to a a guide I found elsewhere I was able to unroot the revolutionary method I first used. Took my phone to Sprint today and they found several issues with it and ordered me a new one. Thanks so much everyone for all the help
Ok some of you may know me and i probably yried to help some of you so here is a guide for the new/inexperienced rooter.
welcome to xda youve probably found yourself here because youve rooted your shiny new LTE. Congrats. Now you wanna install and mod it. Follow these rules and you *shouldnt* have issue.if s-on anf hboot 1.12 flash as normal or use lazypanda to get soff while you still can!
1. Read read read
2. Unless s-off use fastboot to flash boot.img
3. Make sure boot.img is compatible with your rom/firmware i.e 1.13 1.22 2.13 *boot.img is kerne*
4. Dont post new thread for the same question asked already use search function
5. Enjoy your new rom
Side note use sense kernels with sense roms aosp kernels with aosp roms
Follow this link for fastboot instructions (thanks rxpert)

Any questions pm me oh and if i helped hit thanks lol
If anyone wants to add to this please do as ill be maintaining this

Its a decent start. The problem is most people having the kernel flashing issues dont know what most of that means.
You have to give them the directions step by step as I have done here
http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-lte-all-things-root/606748-how-install-kernels-h-boot-1-15-a.html
Also, S-ON users with 1.12 do not have any of these problems and can flash normally

im waiting for the day that someone writes the most anti-rooting, blatantly hostile disclaimer like dont do this you will void warranty, you will damage the health of your phones nand memory, you will corrupt the file structure cache and dalvik you will destroy recovery, do not under any circumstances assume that rooting, installing recovery or flashing any rom through the action or inaction there of the developer is at all safe at any time. do not ever do this under any circumstances. without further ado this is how to root and s-off your htc evo 4g lte
That would be epic lol

you know, today i was actually thinking about starting a google hangout specifically to trouble shoot for these people but my clear reception totally sucks and it kept kicking me off the net before i could even try. im really likeing the idea of starting hangouts specifically to help troubleshoot and educate, though it could be because i volunteer to teach kids on the weekends and i quite enjoy the job

Of course it is, I thought of it and I only make stupid decisions when Im tanked or Im trying to impress the gf. Really the only reason I thought it would make such a good idea is because I run a small business on the side, I repair and upgrade computers and most of my customers are small business owners so as a sort of bonus I will look at their business and migrate them to linux. I very often use some form of desktop sharing to help ease them into the new software when im on a tight schedule but they need help.

My husband and I are getting a couple of new phones. He decided to go ahead and transfer his number to a dummy phone until it arrives, so he can work on getting rid of it. The phone was previously flashed to Page Plus and I'm curious how to properly revert to Sprint. I flashed it back to the original ROM on the phone when we got it - all stock, but bootloader/S-OFF did not go back to locked/on, is that normal? It looks as though the phone is up and ready for Sprint use again, but I'm curious if anyone could fill me in on the appropriate steps to take? Don't want to sell it to someone online and find out that it will not properly work.
I made an attempt to contact the flasher, who guaranteed a flash back to original service at any point in time when the phone may be resold, but the person has been of no help whatsoever aside from telling me to do a PRL update (which catches an error & I informed them of this problem) and to do something else, but gave me the wrong passcode.
Just doin' a little bumping...

You do realize I could do without the attitude, right?
I was on mobile, on Tapatalk, did it really quick by simply going to my "subscribed" threads instead of looking through the entire section... In other words, that means: no I did not know there were no other posts/responses/new threads that may push it down.
But thanks!
Hi @Luna_Sky,
I'm not seeing any attitude from ElMadre.
Let's keep it civil please.
Thanks BD619

Not a problem. Could you please delete this thread? Don't think I'm going to get a response any way.
Not sure if this will help you, but probably worth taking a look at. Flashing phones from one carrier to another isn't my area of expertise.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2195107
Also, based on at least one post I saw in a PP thread here, you may be able to RUU to put the device back stock with Sprint service. I'd give that a shot.
