I am currently running CM10 FXP203 on Mini Pro (sk17a). I tried to make my first video call with Google Talk since loading CM10 yesterday. I could hear and see the other person, but they could not hear or see me. My video feed was like a scrambled TV station - static. Occasionally a still image of my face would pop into the screen, but then shortly after right back to static. I tried the front and rear cameras with the same results.
Front/rear cameras work fine in the camera app.
I saw this similar thread in the NEO forum, without a resolution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2123222
Any ideas? I will try updating to a newer FXP but I'm not expecting that to solve it as the change logs don't indicate any work on this.
Thanks.
I installed FXP210 and can confirm the same problem. Do others have this problem?

Today I wanted to use skype (the newest version) on my flyer with videochat, I recently upgraded my flyer (BB version) to honeycomb and didnt use skype since then.
Well i know that skype was working completely on Gingerbread, but when i tried videochat today, the camera lighted up (the small green led besides it) and voice and everything worked, however i was not able to get a picture of my camera.
Does anybody have skype working with the flyer and the release version of honeycomb?
Or does anyone know whats causing the problem?
Best regards
Marius

I have the BB Wifi Flyer and Skype works perfectly including both cameras, for me on HC offical release, rooted.
What version HC are you using?
The standard stock release version that globatron posted in his thread. So its the official HTC release with root.
Ill try wiping the skype data and see if it works then. Its really weird, can't use either of the cameras it just gives me a black screen nothing else
Ok I got it fixed, I just wiped the data reinstalled skype and now it works ... weird.
Has anybody managed to get Skype to work with a bluetooth headset and mic?
I can pair and use my BT headset for listening to media files and can make a Skype test call but the audio bounces back to the speakers after the first word..?
Skype has some weirdness with Bluetooth on many devices and since the phone functions for Flyers are not yet working in HC, the Bluetooth profiles may not be fully functional as well.

I've found another problem with Skype on the Flyer.
Audio during a call is only mono.
This is true for both a wired headset and the speakers....
Any ideas?

The Audio from the other called? Isn't it coming through a single mic? How could it be stereo?

What I should have said was that audio only comes thru on one channel. The left side only when using the speakers, earphones or a headset w/Mic.
When I use Skype on my android phone it comes through on both channels, same with the pc too.
The audio routing and libraries are a god awful mess in linux and therefore android. Who knows if its a Skype problem or a htc or a HC problem. At least it works, even this is a miracle in Android audio
I think it must be an HTC problem. I called tech support and they gave the standard answer that it might be resolved in a future update...
i have a lag on my front camera anyone else experience this with the hc upgrade? i tried wiping skype and reinstalling but its not helping...any fix for this??
I am experiencing the same lag on my View (running stock HC). The lag appears on both front and back cameras. I've tested the front cam video with Google Video Chat and it works much better.
Can someone else please let us know how SKype video is working on their View/Flyer, on official HC, GB or other ROM?
Thanks
I use stock GB and all appears to be fine - other than the sound only coming through on one channel (left side).
Are any of you guys getting sound on left and right channels during a call?
Stock HC , rooted, it just works. Just installed and both front and back cameras work fine.
Hello,
Recently got my hands on a secondhand SGS2 and it seemed to work perfectly, except for the following;
There is no audio when recording a video or using the memorecorder! The mic seems to work fine since I have no problems with calling people, they can hear me just fine.
This was all with the stock ROM (4.1.2), so I thought it might be a software problem, rooted the phone and installed CM10.1. Still the same problem! So I went back to the stock ROM and while playing with the FM radio I noticed that when I press the record button in the FM radio there is no audio in the recorded file either!? I also tried playing the files back on my PC.
So to me, it seems like it's an encoder problem (is that even possible?).
I've also installed an app called igCamera to tried and change the mic options / encoding but that didn't make a difference either.
Any ideas on where to go from here? Anything else I can test?
Thanks!

I bought it from my sister-in-law for an extremely low price, so returning it is no option Besides, since I can make calls the hardware seems to be ok. Or is there another mic used when recording video?
Anyone? I've tried various testprogram's to test the microphone but they none of them can detect any sound! From what I understand the SGS2 has 2 microphones, can someone tell me if the second mic is only used for noisecancellation, or is it also used to record audio? If the same mic is used to make calls as for recording video then it must be a software problem I guess, but I have no clue how to solve this.. :silly:
Hey, guys.
I've recently installed CyanogenMod 10.2 on my phone (I9100G), and when I tried to record a video, there was no audio at all. Just a really low static noise. The Sound Recorder works fine and people can hear me through a call, so I figured it couldn't be a hardware issue. Unless the camera uses one side (which is stupid) theeen maybe it's be a hardware issue, because my left microphone (when Home button on the right) is busted.
I've checked out the other threads in this forum and I never really found a solution. Anyone mind helping me out here?
Cm10.2 has problems. Go to cm10.1 builds till there working well. Video is a problem ATM on 10.2
That's what I did, but it still won't record with audio. You think it could be a compatibility issue between the device and the camera software? Because the camera looks way different than in 4.1.2, unless that's what the 4.3 camera looks like.
I have tried 4.3 cm build and gone bk to 4.2 and camera video sounds works fine here. I've also used 4.3 camera and that work fine too. Try camera modual software. Did you flash a clean ROM or dirty flash from 4.3? Maybe hardware problem.
Did a clean flash.
I'm gonna try and flash some Camera APKs and see if it would fix things.
try some other. apk file of camera e.g fx camera
I've already tried flashing other camera APKs but none work. I guess I'll have to wait till CM10.2 gets official and mostly bug free. Lol. I'm sticking with 10.2 still, though.
Thanks, guys.
So my front facing camera has been broke for a few months now, tried factory resetting and even replacing the module itself and nothiung worked. Everything involving the front facing camera would crash if I tried to use it. Today I tried the "one-way video chat" that pops up when you make a phone call and was shocked to see it was actually working. Only the right camera was showing video, not the left. Is there a way to disable just the left front facing camera?
I've had the same exact problem I've never dropped my phone or anything I factory reset and changed the module but have not gotten it to work I searched everything I could and thought I was the only one with the issue but how did you do a one way video chat? Is it working with the other apps now at least?

When you call someone that supports it you just press one way video chat on the dialer. I'm assuming other apps are attempting to use either both or the left camera. I am guessing my left front facing camera is broken because when I do the one way video chat, it does not display video from the left front facing camera., only the right. It is also working with an app called "BestMe Selfie"
I run Cyanogenmod 12.1 on the latest nightly on my Xperia Z1 and suffer two weird issues that I haven't encountered, or could find. My problem is that the GPS on my phone doesn't seem to work and nor the video funcion of the camera.
On all modes the GPS can't get a fix on my location and whenever I try to take a video I either get a "Disconnected from camera" error or it takes a photo. I have tried with a few other older nighties dated back till January but with no avail.
I couldn't find anywhere else with this problem and a solution so hopefully you can help?
Sorry if this is in the wrong place.
