Z1 Video and GPS not working - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I run Cyanogenmod 12.1 on the latest nightly on my Xperia Z1 and suffer two weird issues that I haven't encountered, or could find. My problem is that the GPS on my phone doesn't seem to work and nor the video funcion of the camera.
On all modes the GPS can't get a fix on my location and whenever I try to take a video I either get a "Disconnected from camera" error or it takes a photo. I have tried with a few other older nighties dated back till January but with no avail.
I couldn't find anywhere else with this problem and a solution so hopefully you can help?
Sorry if this is in the wrong place.

[Q] CM10 Google Talk video problem

I am currently running CM10 FXP203 on Mini Pro (sk17a). I tried to make my first video call with Google Talk since loading CM10 yesterday. I could hear and see the other person, but they could not hear or see me. My video feed was like a scrambled TV station - static. Occasionally a still image of my face would pop into the screen, but then shortly after right back to static. I tried the front and rear cameras with the same results.
Front/rear cameras work fine in the camera app.
I saw this similar thread in the NEO forum, without a resolution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2123222
Any ideas? I will try updating to a newer FXP but I'm not expecting that to solve it as the change logs don't indicate any work on this.
Thanks.
I installed FXP210 and can confirm the same problem. Do others have this problem?

Latest nightly for cm10.1 (20130611) gps fixed

I noticed the lastest nightly fixed my gps, did he help any of you guys out? I know there are a few people who were having issues with it, then finding alternate ways to get it to work again. Any of you have any issues with the headset that came with the phone not working for call sound?

[Q] No Sound When Recording Video

Hey, guys.
I've recently installed CyanogenMod 10.2 on my phone (I9100G), and when I tried to record a video, there was no audio at all. Just a really low static noise. The Sound Recorder works fine and people can hear me through a call, so I figured it couldn't be a hardware issue. Unless the camera uses one side (which is stupid) theeen maybe it's be a hardware issue, because my left microphone (when Home button on the right) is busted.
I've checked out the other threads in this forum and I never really found a solution. Anyone mind helping me out here?
Cm10.2 has problems. Go to cm10.1 builds till there working well. Video is a problem ATM on 10.2
That's what I did, but it still won't record with audio. You think it could be a compatibility issue between the device and the camera software? Because the camera looks way different than in 4.1.2, unless that's what the 4.3 camera looks like.
I have tried 4.3 cm build and gone bk to 4.2 and camera video sounds works fine here. I've also used 4.3 camera and that work fine too. Try camera modual software. Did you flash a clean ROM or dirty flash from 4.3? Maybe hardware problem.
Did a clean flash.
I'm gonna try and flash some Camera APKs and see if it would fix things.
try some other. apk file of camera e.g fx camera
I've already tried flashing other camera APKs but none work. I guess I'll have to wait till CM10.2 gets official and mostly bug free. Lol. I'm sticking with 10.2 still, though.
Thanks, guys.

Help - Sound issue with CM 11

Hi All
First up, many thanks for any help and for your time.
I am running CM 11 Nightlies (currently at 20140517) but this issue has been happening ever since I installed CM 11.
I use Apollo for music. The player will play fine for a period (sometimes more than an hour and sometimes just five minutes) and then suddenly the sound will disappear while the player keeps playing. I then have to reboot the phone for the sound to come back as manually shutting the app down does not work.
I don't believe it is an Apollo issue but think it is a sound issue as this happens with Google Music as well as Ginkgo Audio player as well (which I use for audiobooks).
I have already searched the net and the forums but haven't found anything yet.
Would be grateful for any advice.
You're far more likely to get an answer that will help in the CM11 discussion thread.
This sounds like an incidence of the well known and thoroughly discussed music bug which is present in EVERY build / version of CM11....some people it affects, some it doesn't..... You either have to live with it until a fix is found, or you revert to a JB based build.......
My wife says I'm a phone geek....She's probably right

Front facing camera and music issues

I have been rooted since the phone came out and have been on skydragon rom currently on most updated version and have not had any problems but all the sudden I am having 2 issues one being when I play music that is saved on phone or SD card on the stock music player the song stops about 15 seconds in and goes to the next song, I never had this problem and can't understand why I would I have reset the phone completely and it still does this. Also just recently my front facing camera will not work and if I try to switch to it the camera app completely crashing and I have to clear cash and data for it to even work on the back camera, I'm very baffled by these issues and can't figure it out. Side note I did try cm 13 rom and the music seemed to be okay but front facing camera still wasn't working. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be... Thank you in advance I'm really not ready to get a new phone
