Hello guys!
I am able to pick a new android phone through my insurance, since I dropped my HTC Desire HD in water
And so I am thinking about a white Galaxy SII, but I am wondering if it's worth it?
Will we be seeing an official ICS update for the phone soon?
Is there an MIUI port for the phone?
Which other phones could be a good pick?
Thank you
hey mate you,re talking about the best of the stuff just go on

Well you are asking on the Samsung Galaxy SII forums if it's worth getting this phone i think it's safe to say everyone will say yes.
There are leaked ICS ROM's on here but they are not 100% stable, most people at this stage thought we would have ICS for our phone but we're still waiting and at this stage it's anyones guess when we'll get it, im not even bothering to think about it anymore.
Yeah as far as im aware there is an MIUI post for this phone although im not 100% i don't really bother with MIUI.

No other phone is as good as this even the Galaxy Nexus, this phone remains the king of smartphones so to conclude yes highly recommended.
PS - Assuming you do get this phone and come on here be sure to search the forums for any questions
go for it as i did although btye DHD is a great device the GS2 is in another class and you will know once you get it, also touch wiz isnt as bad as some make out . Running stock atm rooted and just reading and learning until i decide which rom to flash unless ofcourse official ics turns up
Hello all!
Im not sure if anyone else has had this issue, however i will state it anyway and feel free to close this thread if it has been mentioned previously!
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 on O2 in the UK and have recently updated it to the official 4.0.3 via KIES.
Everything looks like it has updated fine, and it does say im running 4.0.3 - the only thing that seems to be missing as far as i can see, is the 'live effects' for the camera and video capturing - things like the silly faces, background replacement etc that i have seen on other 4.0.3 devices, such as the galaxy nexus. I know this isn't stock only to the galaxy nexus as i have seen other people with galaxy s2's that have a hacked rom on it that is based on 4.0.3.
Can anyone help?
Many thanks!
You should wait for cm9 to get video camera working then you can have the same gnex rom on your s2(with all camera things you are talking about)
Samsung ics was crap without ics features
Hi there!
Thanks for your response!
I don't really want to use a custom firmware on my phone and void the warrenty! Thank you for your suggestion though!
My girlfriends mother has a Galaxy S II I9100G, and the default configuration seems to be really bloated. Since I´m new to the S2 scene I would appreciate help to find my way in this jungle of roms
The aim is to find something stable and fast which isn´t built with a super user in mind (as mentioned, my girlfriend´s mother will use it..) Any suggestions?
Its wrong forum but try codebox Rom.

You could keep the phone stock, but remove all the unnecessary bloatware through Titanium Backup.

RootBox 3.0 is awesome

If you want a pure and fully working rom, i'd suggest CM9, works smooth and I have not encountered any issue yet.
JB roms are still stable enough for daily use, but if you really want a rom that works to the fullest, go for cm9.

RootBox V3.0 is amazing you can try it with Dorimanx kernel
I good ICS Rom is GOA ROM 4.0.4 based on Samsung
Its works stable and smooth. I have used for a long time with Siyah 4.1.1 Kernel.
+ 1
Root - > Debloat - > Unroot
It's probably going to be the most stable configuration, meaning you won't have "service" it and she'll a phone with the current stability and security.

First post on here so no angry clever devs saying I'm posting in the wrong place
Anyway, I'm sort of new to rooting, I know what pretty much everything does, and enjoy flashing my S3. I've had CM10 for a while now, and am currently on the latest 2nd of December nightly build of CM10. Works fine. Tonight I've flashed the 4.2 camera with photosphere and stuff, because I have a thing for the Galaxy Nexus. And due to this love, I really want to get the virtual buttons on the bottom of the screen (the ones that are on a little bar) and I want the actual Nexus ones, the 3, not the search and menu and stuff. I've searched on here already and cant find anything. I tried flashing this one earlier and just got stuck in a boot loop. This always happens every time I try flash the buttons. I've read that its not as simple as just dumping onto the S3, but can anyone help me flash them onto the international i9300 Galaxy S3 on CM10? I really want to try it out.
Any help is appreciated
Cheers

Thanks so much! It worked and looks so cool!
Goodmorning,
I'm going to flash a costum ROM on an i9300 of a friend of mine, because it's really really laggy.
But this guy needs to keep using his Samsung Gear, then he is a little scared of changing from stock.
Then I'm asking here how the Gear interfaces with our S3. Is just an app who let it to work or do I need Samsung framework? Can I choose an AOSP based ROM or only a Samsung one (back to noot, Blekota, etc..)?
Would you recommend any?
Thank you! I really really need your help.
