[Q] Sense camera and gallery - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Is there anyway i can get the sense camera and gallery on my cm10 rom?

Nope, highly doubt it.
What you do however, is get a desensed Rom. It takes away most of sense so it looks sorta like aosp, but keeps the good things like the camera

doesn't look that much different than Sense 3.5 on ICS that we already have - just some different menu transitions

After watching this... HTC did too much with Sense. They're just overdoing it now. Give me a slice of AOSP and we're good here.
It's also still up on Droidforums.net .. at least I just watched it there a few minutes ago.
I think it looks good personally, but I am coming from the OG droid so Sense is basically like a theme to me and I haven't noticed any lag compared to the slowness of my droid so its all good.
They just took it down at Droidforums.net as well

WTF are people *****ing about?? I like Sense & the widgets myself, but if you don't like it instead of *****ing about it why not just run LPP+ or ADWLauncher EX etc. since all the launchers run great on the Rezound.
There are plenty of Senseless ROM options available also if you really hate it......

Having come from a HTC device, which I ran as aosp, my comments are;
Sense widgets were easily replaced from the market. Many alternatives were superior to the sense equivalent.
You cannot have sense widgets without the sense kernel and framework
If it's touchwiz you dislike, just get a launcher from the market.
As a former AOSP developer, I have to recommend that you stay with sammy plus launcher for a while. Sammy roms are feature packed and you will lose loads by going to aosp. Don't jump ship until you know what you've got and whether or not you want it.

check for link to forum in the signature
viper rom is rumored to be updated soon,
Most of the sense dev's move to themikmik.com
might want to check with them over there.
I'm using Vexxum by who MIKE D right now. It's quite nice because of how stock it is as a whole. It feels almost as if this would be the stock Sense 4 ROM that came on the phone if the Rezound came with native Sense 4. Of course, there's a few minor bugs (like any Sense 4 ROM), and for whatever reason, I can't get One Browser to work on it.
I liked stang's pure CM10.1 kang, but the AOSP camera made me jump back because I needed to get good pictures of something last week.
I haven't tried EclipticRez because the opening post is long and confusing with excessive change logs, and mcluvin's se7en skin looks ugly as sin to me.
EclipticRez is about to be updated to sense 4.1,
I wouldn't hold my breath on viper being updated, he's been promising an update for over 6 months
Sense still lives. It just seems like there are a lot of dev's working on JB sense. Most of what we have for ICS has been taken to it's logical endpoint. Although I realize that not every bug has been worked out on Sense 4+, most of those ROMs are nearly 100% and rock solid. AOSP development is more exciting now. I come back to Sense from time to time, but the cutting edge is AOSP. And I've got to say, I'm a sucker for new; even if new means bugs. But believe me, once JB Sense drops, I'll be one of the first to try.

You would need to define your criteria for "best" first.
For me, "best" ROMs are ROMs that give me better speed, more features, and similar stability to stock. I also keep my devices for a pretty long time. So as they age I look to the community for support in keeping up to date. Hell, I still have a Tegra 2 tablet (Gtab) and my old Hero C laying around.
In this respect, I have had very good luck with ViperROM on the LTE. YMMV

This is always going to be a question that never has the perfect answer. It depends on what you want/need. Go sense if you want the classic evo look and just want the basic experience its for people who don't care as much about making the device faster and better, they just want it to work and the only real reason they rooted it was to get rid of the bloatware. Keep it simple stupid. Honestly sense is fast, but aosp is is much more reliable and stable. Sense kernels have that small chance of corrupting your file system if and when your device crashes. It's a small chance but a chance none the less.
AOSP is by far the best for the ones who do want to unlock the devices full potential. AOSP (Android open source project) roms are more difficult to create and perfect but they give these devices more potential but its also up to the user to do his or her research. Don't flash or tweak even the slightest thing until you do your research and search xda and google. When you find a guide that of course isn't too old and you know you can trust it, read it over and over and bookmark it. Always search xda but never listen to the opinions of others until you test it yourself.
These rom creators work hard and they expect us to know what we are doing.
tl;dr - I will just say this, if your willing to spend more time to give you the best experience go AOSP. And if you go AOSP go CyanogenMod and nothing else. And for the kernel if you do wish to use a custom kernel I hightly recommend Komodo if you want an even better user experience.
Best rom is...
... the one that works best for you
FWIW. I love the ViperRom. Phone feels like it just "works" and, if I want, there are lots of customizations available.
That said, I just switched to HatkaLTE because I wanted to stay with a sense rom and it seems to me that the last update of ViperRom reintroduced the original rom's sensor problems on my phone. [I say seems because it's still not perfect, just better, on the HatkaLTE and maybe the hardware has developed a defect]. I can't say much about this rom yet because I haven't had it on my phone long enough and because I'm also playing around with different launchers at the same time.
Good luck!

IDK, but I'm really excited to install the new VIPERROM
Very, very excited. Hopefully it (re)fixes the proximity sensor problem, but if not, I have the init file all ready to solve the problem myself!
I have to agree with many of the posts, it's more of a personal taste question. I've run almost every ROM at some point, and I love the speed of AOSP, but like the features of Sense. There are a few key features that you lose on AOSP. After a whole lot of flashing, I've settled on SuperJelly Bareback, it strips out all the bloat of Sense while retaining those key features, and is almost spot on with the speed of AOSP. It's my happy medium. Good luck and happy flashing.
If you dont need Bluetooth, Sense 5. Otherwise Viper or Super LTE.

Sense 5 opinions

How do you guys like it? I'm still tempted to go bareback and toss sense out. I gave it a shot, awesome job guys, but don't like how it wants to stuff facebook in my face all the time. If there is a way to reorganize the main page I haven't seen it. Ended up nandroiding back to meanbean 3.09 for now. Runs slick as glass. If I download and install the bareback superlte does that include the camera drivers so there is no loss in quality/functionality?
Also what is svn lol. I just downloaded the sense 5 port directly to my phone and flashed it, s-off, but I keep reading Bout svn. Is that update software? With meanbean I just used the ota updater.
Sorry kinda new

I absolutely love it.
I don't use Facebook either, so I froze it using app quarantine from the play store and it doesn't pop up anywhere anymore.
Svn is a way to get the latest updates without having to download the whole file. It downloads only the parts that have been updated reducing download time.
You also get downloads in advance.
Switching main screen is in the pinch on home screen widgets layout. You hold the screen you want selected in that window and drag it to main.
I love sense 5. Smoothest ROM I've ever had, especially with the arc reactor kernel.
I currently also have a 7582 quadrant score because of the ROM.
Turtlesvn is a svn client (I think that's its name) from there follow the thread listed about svn to get it set up.
I will never go back to sense 4.5 or aosp, they are farrrrr behind sense 5 and I know when you get it figured out you will agree.
Have fun!

svn is a version control system that developers use to check in their code. It allows other devs to pull the changes down to their machines to make sure they're working with the latest files. The sense 5 repository is public, so anyone can pull down the files needed to flash the rom, but it's still intended more for the developers.

I love Sense 5. Personally, I think it's the best thing to happen to Sense. It feels like Cyanogenmod and HTC had a baby. It's zippy, it's smart, it's gorgeous to look at, and it's simple (For some people, too simple lol http://www.androidcentral.com/htc-sense-5-app-drawer-making-simple-complicated )
Link feed is pretty neat I have to say. I can't wait for a working gallery so I can see in person how the zoe moments work. And I can't wait to see how the devs theme it.

I think it's the best version of sense yet. I hate sense and only used it when I needed to do something that wasn't working in AOSP, AOKP, etc. Sense 5 is actually very handy and flexible. The development of the port seems to be coming along very nicely and my hat's of to all of them!
Also, igotlostintampa has done a kicka$$ job of putting together a great FAQ that has helped me greatly in getting this to be a DD.

I definitely like it. My only complaint is I can't set blink feed as a "middle" panel for a home screen with pages to the left and right of it.

Sense 5 is the first OEM skin I've ever used that I feel is as cohesive and attractive as stock Android. It's better than Touchwiz, better than not-Blur, better than Optimus UI, and most importantly, WAY better than any prior version of Sense. I think I've finally found an AOSP replacement. I was actually planning to buy an Optimus G on eBay and sell this phone, but Sense 5 has convinced me to stick with the Evo. Using Arc Reactor kernel 0.41 (1.7) along with Sense 5, this phone is pretty close to the G performance-wise despite only having 2 CPU cores.

I initially said I liked Sense 5, but have since changed my mind. I don't like the blink feed being forced on me. I can't remove it nor can I change what page it is. I feel as if HTC just watered Sense down. It is very light. Not so much a UI anymore, buy more of a skin or theme similar to Touchwiz. I know this move will be praised by some, but if you're a fan of Sense, you might be disappointed as I am. I like the Sense widgets. Now they are either watered down to look more AOSP or simply gone. No HTC bookmarks, no HTC Music. Calendar looks weak. I keep flashing the newest daily in an attempt to like it (as this is the future) but I keep coming back to my nandroid. I give the Devs all the respect in the world and this rant is in no way a reflection of my thoughts to their hard work to bring the port to us. I'm grateful to have the ability to try it.

OK. Back to AOKP for me. Tried it for about 2hrs to check it out, and the devs have done an amazing job, but sense is still painful compared to AOKP to me. HTC did do better with multitasking, a lot (unless it was the wicked xda devs that fixed that). Still, sense is too blocky and in my face for me to use.
That said, there were a few cool new features, like if you have a contact that is Google and Facebook , sense gives you option to pick which icon pic. Cool, but doesn't stand a chance against AOKP/Rootbox/slim bean/CM.
Wish I knew what all the sense users see. Hell, there's not even an email widget (which 4.1.2+ has now).
