Yeah that may be a good choice, Or even the next HTC (the Ville?) It is quadcore and 720p HD screen.
What was your interest?that would determine which Android phone suite for you.

I was going to post a similar question..
My HTC Desire HD is sadly having hardware issues and I need to replace it.
I need a phone in the next couple days.
The HTC Ville was my choice, but I don't think I'll be able to wait for its release!
I'm looking for advice on Androids already on the market.
Min. Requirements:
- 4" Screen
- Dual core
- 1GB RAM
It has to be an international phone.
A qwerty (physical) keyboard would be an amazing add-on, but from my googling I don't think that is available with the above specs.
I would love to hear your thoughts.. Thanks
And for the OP.. If you could wait for the Ville, do it
Is ville better or s3

If you can’t wait then I would recommend Google Nexus Prime. If you willing to wait but not for long I would consider looking at “Galaxy SII skyrocket HD” rumors has it that it will be released sometime in March. Finally, if you can wait and you are not in a hurry then I would consider the next gen phones with quad core processors such as Galaxy SIII and HTC Ville as they are going to be some of the first phones that will come with ICS preinstalled

I just came back from the mobile shop, i played around with the nexus prime..
I really liked the screen on that thing! And ICS feels/looks great..
However, what i didn't like is:
- no sd card slot (
- 5 megapixel cam ( my DHD has an 8 and it's 2 years old)
- I've never liked the build of the Samsung smartphones.. Compared to the builds of HTC phones, Samsungs (including the nexus prime) feel like a toy in your hand; or am I the only one who feels that?
So I'm not sure whether I'm willing to sacrifice the above.
I will check the Galaxy SII skyrocket HD.. I'm not sure what to do.. I guess I'll keep on looking.. I don't wanna wish it!
Cheers

My opinion: Galaxy S2 will be a very good option, in fact, the best option before ICS generation.
Galaxy S2
HTC Sensation(XE/XL maybe?)
Sony Xperia S(upcoming)
Sony Xperia Ion(upcoming)
HI,
I recently bricked my phone trying to flash Cyanogenmod 7 on my HTC Desire S (apparently installing a rom on that phone is like running in a mine field).
It worked for an hour before totally crashing the phone.
CM7 was so amazing that I was wondering if there were any phones on which you could install it with close to 0 risks. I mean, it seems to be a piece of cake on the Nexus, but are the Samsung phones safe as well ?
Because after using CM7 I really can't stand HTC Sense anymore and I know that the HTC phones aren't the easiest one to root.
(I know that there are always some risks while installing a rom, I just want the phones with the lowest risks)
Sony Xperia S
My desire is wonderful.. but.. not NFC, bad camera, bad screen etc..
But I love it ...
one vote for SGS2.
Ville with quad? wut
Where do people read that Ville will recieve a quad-core processor?
Ville is supposed to be a DHD predesessor, with a dual-core clocked @ 1.5 GHz
whereas the HTC Edge is the one with quad-core (and this perhaps being a Tegra 3?), with 720p screen, Sense 4, NFC, 4G and international aswell.
I'm getting this as soon as available in Denmark!!
Now that there is confirmed news about the LG Nexus [Source], are you guys considering moving from the SIII to the Nexus ??
Don't get me wrong, the SIII is an awesome piece of hardware, but the lack of documentation from the Samsung Exynos team is a well known issue. That, to me, is the most important reason anyone would wanna move to the Nexus.
But I want to hear more opinions as to the advantages as well as disadvantages of the Nexus vs. the SIII.
no...
gonna shift to S4 when it comes......

I don't actually think theirs anything wrong with LG, of course I'd choose Samsung over them any day of the week, but if Samsung were yet to come onto the smartphone market, and LG had already made an appearance, I wouldn't be hesitate to buy an LG, providing specs etc were all up to date and the phone isn't just a single core 800mhz A5 snapdragon lol not suggesting snapdragon are bad processors....I was referring to the old A5 architecture

I just wanted to say something similar - of course it will just be outsourced to some company in Asia and will not be very competitively priced (unless you have an internal deal or something) since Google does not want to alienate any manufacturer!
That being said the openness is an interesting advantage (after the problems that I had with my S3 - which I discovered it was a patched version instead of a real IMEI unlock as I thought when I bought it).
LG left a sour taste in my mouth a few years back so I don't think I'm jumping ship, plus the specs leaked so far aren't too impressive.
However that new HTC with the 5inch 1080 screen has me interested...

Up till now? No one knows for sure. You can debate between the One X+, Optimus G and the GS3 or the GN2 or even the Nexus 4, but everyone has their personal preference.
Coming in the future? Who knows? 2013 is the year of 1080p displays and Quad-core A15 chipsets and 2 Gb of RAM and so on.. We can only wait and see...

What?
With the announcement of the LG2 i must say it looks like a very nice device sporting 2.3ghz quadcore. I hope that doesn't make the 3000 mAh battery seem pointless with its 5.2 inch display.
I'm just curious though, does anyone of you believe that the Nexus 5 will be based off of the recently revealed LG G2? I find that devices looks great, and while i do understand that some people don't want to move up to 5.2 inch screen, i must say i'm more or less ready to make the move. In the past i could not for one second imagine myself using a 5.2+ inch screen, but recently i just find it makes the browsing, texting and reading a MUCH greater experience.
anyways, what do you guys think?
I hope the next Nexus is made by LG and based of the G2.

The new nexus 7 is called the Google Nexus 7 (2013). The ASUS Google Nexus 7 (2012). So the point he was making is that the name might not go in increments.

The number is screen size. Since new Nexus tablet is still a 7 inch device it was called Nexus 7.
If next Nexus phone comes with a 5 inch screen it so be most likely called Nexus 5.

Yes, of course, that was clear; I was just pointing out that there is also no clear indication of any guideline, so it's all speculative.
I watched the whole thing too and it does look like a great phone but I don't know if I want a 5.2" display phone might be a little big. I don't own a n4 but I do like how it feels on the hand and not too big. Also I wonder how that battery will hold up after seeing all the great battery life everyone gets with the n4 I'm debating whether to wait for the next nexus or get the n4 next month

With how Qualcomm is handling the situation with AOSP i hope the next Nexus is NOT made from the G2.
The Nexus 5 will be based off the G2. Sadly it will be sexier and more of a beast than the Nexus 4....I really wanted to keep my Nexus 4 for 2 years but damn the Nexus 5 looks like it will violently b!tch slap any other phone on planet earth.
Mad props to LG. To take a beautiful, sexy device like the Nexus 4 and follow it up with a device that clearly trumps it in looks, aesthetic, performance....everyone will be blown away and hooked on the Nexus all over again...

You're asking for a Nexus 4S or a newer Nexus 4. This is about the Nexus 5 ....Every Nexus released has been a significant improvement over its predecessor....not a small step up
Considering how many issues Google has had with Qualcomm when it comes to releasing factory images of devices running Qualcomm chips, I hope it'd use a different SoC.

Really what's the alternative?
Qualcomm has a lock on SoC's at the moment and for the forseeable future. I mean really who else is there? Intel?
Development wise everyone is behind Qualcomm. Not by just a little either. The Snapdragon 800 that powers the G2 will more than likely go untested or unmatched by any competitor SoC until NEXT year....The 800 is a big deal as far as SoC's go.
I'm not sure of this beef Qualcomm has with Google. Don't know much about that.

You have Samsung with their Exynos series.
Edit - ignore

Samsung's Exynos? Nope.
The main reason most Exynos powered devices don't have official CM support is because Samsung doesn't release their images. Infact I don't think you can find one Exynos powered device officially supported by AOSP.
Qualcomm's Snapdragon S4 pro powers my N4 and I rather like it. Can somebody explain this mysterious problem between Qualcomm and AOSP? Doesn't make sense
It isnt that much bigger than the nexus 4.
Nexus 4 is 133.9 x 68.7 x 9.1mm
LG G2 is 138.5 x 70.9 x 8.9mm
Slightly taller by 5 mm, wider by 2mm but slightly thinner.
Also not sure of the power lock button on the back. You could just put your phone on the table and the phone will be turned on. Also getting cases will be odd. I hope they use the normal buttons on the side.

Yeah right. No way it will be 249. The nexus 7 is 249. The nexus 10 will have to probably be same as first version. 399 for 16 GB and 499 for 32 GB. (Maybe you meant euros?) I don't know where your from but I'm talking about dollars. Anyways I think 100 bucks for 16 GB is too much more. But the cheapest variant will most likely be 399.
If there even is one because it hasn't been confirmed its just being assumed there will be a new version. Google could just make a whole new tablet

Yeah... No way Google is gonna downgrade the display, that's one of their sales points for the n10, its 2560x1600 (something like that) display

I've also seen articles saying 299... makes me question the quality of the tablet if it's set at that price.
For Snapdragon 800 I believe it's true, also 3GB RAM too. Now 1080p screen? Are you kidding me or what? Nexus 10 made it fame for its 2560x1600 screen, which is the main point for me buying mine. Also another thing we need to know is who will produce it. I wonder if will be Samsung again or Asus, if Samsung, it's pretty sure we will see an Exynos processor, like the current Nexus 10.
I don't mind paying 399 or 499 if its well built. I'd take that over a 299 device that's neutered for sure. I'm hoping there's a 64gb option.

Pretty sure it's been confirmed to be ASUS.
There's no way the new Nexus 10 is being released for $299. The new Nexus 7 was released for $229, which was $29 more than the original Nexus 7.
I'm guessing $399-$429 for the base model.
The screen will be 2560x1600, since the new Asus Transformer Pad Infinity (TF701T) has a 2560x1600 screen. No sense for Asus to make a lower res screen for a new tablet.
In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the new Nexus 10 is just the TF701T without the keyboard.
Do you think the Nexus 10 2 will in fact be released this month or next month?

Yeah that it what I was thinking as well. I need a tablet now though. So its either a Nexus 10 or a Asus Memo Pad FHD. The Nexus is about $360 and the Asus is about $300
Nexus 5 will be unveiled in October the 14th. I can see them unveiling the Nexus 10 2 as well just like last year. Remember last year's unveiling was delayed by a hurricane and when the unveiling came Google produced all both devices and 4.2 at the same event.
It will be kit kat, N5 and N10 all on the same date I'm pretty certain.
Roll on the 14th.
