Yeah that may be a good choice, Or even the next HTC (the Ville?) It is quadcore and 720p HD screen.

What was your interest?that would determine which Android phone suite for you.

A minimum 4 inch screen
Dual core or more procceser
Full hd video recording

I was going to post a similar question..
My HTC Desire HD is sadly having hardware issues and I need to replace it.
I need a phone in the next couple days.
The HTC Ville was my choice, but I don't think I'll be able to wait for its release!
I'm looking for advice on Androids already on the market.
Min. Requirements:
- 4" Screen
- Dual core
- 1GB RAM
It has to be an international phone.
A qwerty (physical) keyboard would be an amazing add-on, but from my googling I don't think that is available with the above specs.
I would love to hear your thoughts.. Thanks
And for the OP.. If you could wait for the Ville, do it

Is ville better or s3

If you can’t wait then I would recommend Google Nexus Prime. If you willing to wait but not for long I would consider looking at “Galaxy SII skyrocket HD” rumors has it that it will be released sometime in March. Finally, if you can wait and you are not in a hurry then I would consider the next gen phones with quad core processors such as Galaxy SIII and HTC Ville as they are going to be some of the first phones that will come with ICS preinstalled

I just came back from the mobile shop, i played around with the nexus prime..
I really liked the screen on that thing! And ICS feels/looks great..
However, what i didn't like is:
- no sd card slot (
- 5 megapixel cam ( my DHD has an 8 and it's 2 years old)
- I've never liked the build of the Samsung smartphones.. Compared to the builds of HTC phones, Samsungs (including the nexus prime) feel like a toy in your hand; or am I the only one who feels that?
So I'm not sure whether I'm willing to sacrifice the above.
I will check the Galaxy SII skyrocket HD.. I'm not sure what to do.. I guess I'll keep on looking.. I don't wanna wish it!
Cheers

My opinion: Galaxy S2 will be a very good option, in fact, the best option before ICS generation.

Galaxy S2
HTC Sensation(XE/XL maybe?)
Sony Xperia S(upcoming)
Sony Xperia Ion(upcoming)

HI,
I recently bricked my phone trying to flash Cyanogenmod 7 on my HTC Desire S (apparently installing a rom on that phone is like running in a mine field).
It worked for an hour before totally crashing the phone.
CM7 was so amazing that I was wondering if there were any phones on which you could install it with close to 0 risks. I mean, it seems to be a piece of cake on the Nexus, but are the Samsung phones safe as well ?
Because after using CM7 I really can't stand HTC Sense anymore and I know that the HTC phones aren't the easiest one to root.
(I know that there are always some risks while installing a rom, I just want the phones with the lowest risks)

Sony Xperia S
My desire is wonderful.. but.. not NFC, bad camera, bad screen etc..
But I love it ...

one vote for SGS2.

Ville with quad? wut
Where do people read that Ville will recieve a quad-core processor?
Ville is supposed to be a DHD predesessor, with a dual-core clocked @ 1.5 GHz
whereas the HTC Edge is the one with quad-core (and this perhaps being a Tegra 3?), with 720p screen, Sense 4, NFC, 4G and international aswell.
I'm getting this as soon as available in Denmark!!

Suggestions about a new android phone

I'm about to change my old Desire with a new phone... but i'm very undecided on my choose.
I have no budget limit, but i want to spend well my money...
I'm interested in full ICS support that come with Galaxy Nexus, but some features don't like to me (plastic case, design, easy-to-scrath display, "old" cpu and gpu) ...
I like so much new HTC One series (especially One X) but it has too much inch for me and the nvidia soc doesn't persuade me (after have seen lg 2x problems) ...
so there is HTC One S, but here i don't like the design (much more beautiful on OneX) and to tell the truth, i like original interface of ICS, i don't want Sense also because is too "Social-print" (i don't have facebook, twitter, google+)
I'm so confused
Hmmm, Samsung galaxy s2? If your still into HTC phones maybe XE or XL.

S2 is getting old ...
maybe the best thing is to wait for S3
First your current available
Well SGS2 has the best processor of that generation, shame about the TW muddled OS. This is the only thing that lets it down.
The GalNexus is almost indentical with a bigger screen, excellent noise cancellation, processor almost as good but ecellent stock vaniila guaranteed upgrade but no gorilla glass, and micro SD card.
The HTC One X -- Quad Core, large screen, ICS, Good camera with nice features. No removable battery, no microsd card. See debate about Quad vs Dual Core to decide where you stand
For deciding phones in the future might be good

For a fair as you can find evaluation of quad core vs top dual core

Seeing as the Krait S4 performs quite well, I'd suggest the ASUS padfone as a strong contender for your purchase.

Galaxy Nexus is getting cheaper by the second, and will undoubtedly take a further price dive after the S3 comes out (hopefully in a month or too), so that's an option. However, you said you had unlimited budget, and didn't like GN so much. (Also, it is a "last-generation" phone, though not outdated or anything.)
You never mentioned if rooting was an option. If so, you can get stock ICS on pretty much anything (I'd wait for the S3 to compare it to our current options, then). If not, your choices are far more limited (most of them not even out yet): http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/q9zvm/phones_with_stock_ice_cream_sandwich/
Either wait for S3 or go for S2 and root it. Flash ICS rom and you are golden..
Can anyone tell me what the main differences are when you compare gnexus with the stock ROM vs gs2 with rooted ics rom? The differences in speed smoothness etc

[Q] What was your device before you got an S3?

What I am wondering is whether most people are making a small incremental jump in their phone (such as S2 to S3), or a huge jump.
I'll go first... I currently have an HTC Desire HD. It is nearly 2 years old now and it has done me amazingly. I plan on running a custom rom on the S3, just like I did on my DHD. With that in mind I may not notice as bigger difference as some people, although that all depends on what CM9 has in store for us.
How about you guys?
I got a Galaxy S2 and a iPhone 4S. And soon a Galaxy S3?
I got a S2. I upgrade to get a bigger screen.

Most people are making relatively small upgrades. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised that the people on XDA seem to be phone addicts!!!
I cant believe the number of people who have two phones! How come... work and business, or different networks to ensure signal?

Same here. Long time HTC fan, coming from an HTC Desire S (1yr old). First Samsung phone for me. Hope it doesn't disappoint. My only concern is if i'll be able to live without sense. But seeing what they've done to Sense 4, I'm not sure i'll be able to live with it anyway... IMHO, Sense 3.5 was the pinnacle of HTC's Sense UI... Sense 4 seems like a downgrade, so I think i'll be fine (fingers crossed)
The original Galaxy S. Looking forward to the S III
At the moment Huawei Ideos X5, HTC Wildfire and Transformer Prime. Huawei being my main phone at the moment. I traded few months ago my SGS2 to Omnia W and then got rid of it pretty quick, because the WP wasnt my thing. Been waiting for SGS3 since then.
Coming off the horrible HTC Touch Cruise i went on and got the first iPhone. That was a revolution! I´ve since had all the iPhones up to my current iPhone 4. Now I feel the time is right to check out the *other* side of The Force.

[Q] Getting New Android Phone and have no idea whic one

Hello.
So, Yeah. I'm going to get something new.
After I had unfortunate accident when my Droid RAZR broke in my pocket without any crash, I'm receiving new one for warranty and decide to change something, because I hate when phone breaks without reason
I live in Poland, so I need something that reach europe.
What I need... Specs comparable with RAZR (CPU and RAM. Some nice GPU would also be nice), Screen at least same quality as it and overall nice quality.
It would be also welcome to be easily moddable with decent amount of Custom ROMs for it. Official/Unofficial CM support is also welcome.
And one more thing. No SGS2. I'm tired of it.
So. Any propositions?
Thanks in advance!
Galaxy S II is old, why would anyone suggest it with the Galaxy S III is out? If you're tired of Samsung then go for an HTC One X. If not, the Samsung Galaxy S III is waiting to love you. I'd suggest a Nexus but you seem to be pretty content with rooting and ROMs so I guess it isn't necessary.
How about Galaxy Note 2? Supposed to be announced at end of month

Ooh, go for the Xperia gx. Actually, scratch that. I don't think it's available in Europe yet... maybe the acro s... damn I'm not really sure when it comes to Europe.
Sent from my X10i using xda app-developers app
go for the one X, but rooting it might be a bit difficult, if so, then go with a nexus!
I would suggest a Galaxy Nexus. Nexus devices always get the official updates first and will be supported for a long time (for example: Nexus S got JellyBean, Galaxy S which has almost the same hardware has not even gotten official ICS...)
Get Galaxy Note 2. It will be released in few days.
Galaxy s3 is an awesome choice too.
Sent from Samsung Galaxy S3 T999
The nexus s is very close in spec to your RAZR. The camera isn't as nice, but fantastic device none the less. You can get them cheap right now too.
The SGS3 is an incredible device. It blows away the RAZR in performance from every angle.

If you can get a Galaxy S III go for it because Samsung just came out with the official jelly bean OTA , otherwise Galaxy Nexus ftw...
The Galaxy Nexus does not have a gorilla glass display , only a scratch resistant one...I haven't really tested mine by putting it in my pocket with my keys lol, but If you get a decent screen protector you won't have any problems...
Gorilla Glass is a big plus , but its a small price to pay for the software experience you're getting out of this phone...Pure AOSP Android experience , you will get the latest updates FIRST, and not have to wait like with the SIII for example...or any other phone for that matter...
Plus its a pretty powerful phone..well worth its money right now if you don't care about the mediocre camera...(which I personally think is fine...1080p video at 30fps , with decent lighting it records great... Photos are OK as well so...)
OR if you're good at waiting you can wait for the new nexus to come out that might have a GG display, but Google hasn't even announced it officially yet so...

Hi everyone... i am a student and currently own a Samsung galaxy s2 for last 10 months...

the cam is very very good, the speed is awesome and its not to big like s3 or the notes. as u can see its still supported even from samsung with new jelly bean upgrade. i dont know much phones which get 2 android upgrades (from gb to ics, from ics to jb) except the google phones and the s2 is still supported by good devs. so why not buy a s2?

I would agree in some point. Yeah it is got a very good graphics card and all. But you might wanna go a little more future proof with the 2GB RAM option. Not that you need/use it all but its worth having for the future. Im always going with the Note series now but the Nexis 4 is a pretty solid buy

HTC for design and build quality, hate plastic flimsyness. Plus sense 5 is beautiful and looks gorgeous on the phone, and sense is (imo) so much better than touchwiz, and more besides.
BlackBerry was down n out but then z10 released and there profits are literally almost 10 times higher and sales of older models are selling better as well. Taiwan also pretty keen on HTC, I suspect they will bail them out and keep em goin for a bit should the situation turn diar. The market changes so quickly that no company stays consistent in the market, HTC were smartphone market leaders not very long ago and I think once tegra 4 and snapdragon 800 come out, in combination with the new marketing head and tactics, there could be a bit of a resurgence, and I really hope for one. I think HTC have finally realised being 'quietly brilliant' doesnt work against the comparative megaphones that apple and Samsung announce there products with.
Lol, sorry, basically I'd go with the one cos it looks and feels better, very little seperating them on the inside so comes down to aesthetics, which would you be happier/more comfortable looking at and holding.
As a side note I assume HTC are still doing the dropbox 25gb thing, don't know if Samsung have an alternative but dropbox has been a surprisingly useful and commonly used feature, plus having all photos/vids instantly backed up is nice.
Rant end

Samsung is if you like Republic of Korea,
HTC if you like Republic of China.
i think if u waited the note 3 you will not regret it
Go with HTC One. It is always better to have a better hardware than software. You can't make up for what your hardware lacks when compared to to other phones, but software can easily be done. And don't worry HTC won't be going bankrupt any time soon, sliding profits ≠ the company is going to be bankrupt.
