Won't Boot Into Android Recovery........ - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

This may have been said before...but its a lil bit different. I have a new Note i717. Its unlocked...has ICS 4.0.4 on it. Not ROOTED. But..i can't get into even the Android recovery. No matter what i do. I seen another guy mention on here when he holds the crrect buttons down....it just goes buzz....buzz...buzz...forever until i let go...then it would boot up normally.
I put TWRP onto it recently...i put superuser into the internal card...but won't boot into it for nothing. What you guys think?
Edit:Can't Root This Phone For sh**. Dunno Why. My Other Note..I ROOTED In 5 Min. Something Aint Right.

Power off the phone. Then while holding down volume up and volume down press power. The phone will vibrate signalling that it is booting up. Let go of the power button and hold volume up and volume down until the first Samsung screen flashes on and off.

Doesn't Work. Nothing Works. Very Very Weird. I Had My White Note ROOTED Easily. For The Life Of Me...Can't Figure Out How To Get In This Mode. I Flashed The TWRP Recovery. Phone Isn't ROOTED Tho. I've Done All Kinds Of Ways. Nothing Is Working At All. A Factory Reset Wouldn't Help Any Right? Im Not ROOTED Or On A Custom ROM.
Edit: FINALLLLLLLLYYYYYY Got It To Work. The Lil Damn Things. I Guess Its Been awhile Since i Did All This ROOT Stuff. I Was Holding All 3 Down At The Same Time. Suppose To Hold Vol Up/Down.....Then Power...Like U Said Adonisd. Thanks Alot Brotha.

No problem. You are very welcome. Don't forget to add solved to your topic title.

thank youu soooo much i literally love youu!!!
yeah, no problem!
Mine is BRICKED!!! OTA Friday got to 85% and went black. none combo of the Three Button Salute is not working at all. Odin can not see it.
As long as you can get into download mode, your phone is not totally bricked. Vibrants are very very hard to brick. Trust me, I have messed mine up more times than I can count, but managed to fix it. First off, can u tell me what windows version ur using, do u have the Samsung drivers installed, what button combination have u tried to get into download mode. I know you probably tried a ton, bit this will help me narrow down what will and will not work for you.

No download mode at all, no charging screen, nothing at all. Black screen! Power with plug in, Power and Vol up, Power and Vol Down, Power and up/Down. No luck. Running vista. I have used odin before with no problems.

Have Odin open and everything setup on the PC.
Then just take out the battery and make sure your phone isn't connected to the PC yet. Then wait maybe 5 seconds and plug your phone into the USB without the battery in the phone. Then press both volume buttons only and install the battery while holding both volume buttons.

ClockworkMod recovery wont open.

So I decided to go ahead and root my player. Then I found this custom rom and followed their instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1517194
It keeps on bootlooping my device, and even though installed steves kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1377771
(which contains CWM) I cannot boot CWM recovery from boot.
It booted up a few times in CWM recovery, but now it doesnt want to. Since then ive tryed flashing steves kernal sveral times to see if I can get it to work. It hasn't.
I really just want to get my device back to stock, I have a stock rom but it still gets stuck in a bootloop.
Help!

I figued out how to get into recovery mode (power button + hold up volume). Now to figure out how to fix the bootloop....(I tried followign th instructions here but to no avail: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1660596)
FIXED
OK i managed to fix my own problem. I installed steves kernel, cleared the cash and the dalvik-cache. Then I flashed the stock rom and wiped all data(reset the factory settings) and then cleared the cashe.
Then my device booted up properly. :good:
Glad to hear you fixed it

You get into Clockwork mod by turning off the device. Then Hold power, Volume up, and the settings (the one to the left of the home button) at the same time. Sometimes you have to let go when the samsung logo appears and then hold it again

could you give more incorrect info, the CORRECT steps for entering CWM (or stock if not using a custom kernel) is to power device completely off, wait for the vibrate to indicate shutdown. Then press and hold volume up and the power button, once the samsung logo comes on release only the power button, do not release the volume up, continue holding volume up until CWM loads.

On my 4.0 US I don't hold the volume any longer than the power button to get into CWM--i.e., I let both go at the samsung logo, and it goes in.

That's how I always entered CWM or the stock one lol. It works for me. Also another way I did it was wait until the samsung logo appears and then hold power + volume up at the same time. I didn't let go of either the power button or volume up button, and just waited for it to come on.
Next time for a better result Go to a stock rom and Flash a kernel with odin. best way to Install CWM perfectly.
like Terra Silet, i have Gplayer 4 and Rooted This Kernel One Milion time

Please help! Phone stuck on boot.

I rooted my phone the other day using super one click 2.3 and left it just rooted due to cwm in my rom manager app not showing my phone model for whatever odd reason. Tonight I did the most stupidest thing and decided to pick nexus 4G in rom manager and downloaded CM10 ICS rom from rom manager itself and as soon it finished downloading I pressed install with dalvik cache wipe checked and now my phone is just stuck on boot screen that say "GALAXY S 4G exclusively from T-Mobile"
I tried to hard reset by pressing home/vol up,down/power button but the screen just goes black for about 3 seconds then the same "GALAXY S 4G exclusively from T-Mobile" screen come on and it just stay there. I also tried to plug in the phone to my laptop but the phone is not recognized anymore and nothing happens.
This is the only phone I have and I am lost. I really need my phone back. What do I need to do?
please HELP:crying:

Okay, okay relax and stay calm first and foremost. I assure you, we've all been there (at least I have been lol). Needless to say, it sounds like you can fix this...which is good! I suggest you first head over to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=954509 and download the toolbox. Once its downloaded, install the necessary drivers if you have not already. After that, you need to get your phone into download mode. There are a few ways to do this, and people prefer going about it in different ways...I'd suggest taking out your battery, and then popping it back in and holding the power on and volume up button at the same time and hopefully it will boot into download mode (it'll be yellow). If that doesn't work after a few minutes, remove the battery again, pop it in and try holding the power, the volume up and the little "arrow up" soft key at the bottom of the screen and hopefully this time it will go into DL mode. Once you're in DL mode, connect your phone to the computer and use the toolbox to flash to stock. This will bring your phone back to factory conditions and you'll be set to go. Be sure not to remove your phone while its flashing back to stock until you are given the green light. Good luck!

Relax, relax...I assure you. Everything will be fine. Your phone isn't dead. Getting into DL mode can be a pain, and honestly it took me a few tries my first time also. You just need to find the correct combo. Try with phone off, holding volume up and down at the same time and then plug in the usb until the phone boots up into DL (hopefully). If this doesn't work, report back. If it does, go through the steps in my last post.

Another thing to try, pull battery, SIM card and SD Card. Then plug in USB to computer, plug in to phone, pop the battery in holding down volume keys (up and down) -- its a little tricky but you get the hang of it. It was only consistent way my phone would go into DL mode.
Same Problem

This is the Samsung vibrant t959 (3g). It looks like you have the Samsung galaxy s 4g t959v. These are totally different phones, you need the galaxy s 4g forums, these files for the vibrant will not work on your phone. Find the correct forum on xda website and flash back to stock for the t959v

Bootloop / Volume Up btn Broken so no DL or Recovery Modes

About 9mnths a go I dropped my phone (gt-I9100, GS2) in some water. It appeared to be dead, so I left it off. After a day I turned it back on and everything was fine again except the volume up key was not working. Anyway I could live with that, in fact I lived with it so much that I all but forgot about it. That was until today...
I tried to flash a new ROM and something went wrong and I got stuck in a bootloop, no problem just boot into recovery right.... oh yeah requires volume up key Then I thought oh ok no problem I will boot into Custom OS flash mode and reflash a stock ROM with ODIN.... oh **** first stage is 'Volume up: Continue'. So I am stuck.
I know possible answers to this are "No" or "Get your volume key fixed" but is there any other way I can solve this issue and flash any ROM?
The phone is rooted and has CWM recovery but as explained above, I can't use the volume up.
As the phone doesn't boot past the Samsung Galaxy SII logo...running ADB or Fastboot in a terminal doesn't show up with any results.
Help....
ps. The bootloop occured after flashing with AOKP JB Rom for I9100
A USB jig (very cheap/common) will boot your device to download mode, and you can then flash through Odin.

Am I missing something here? You are talking only about your volume up button not working, right? If the volume down button is still working you could enter download mode with Volume Down + Home + Power and flash another firmware. However if volume down isn't working too then see post above.
Yes you are, because after you boot into download you have to press vol up to continue...

Bricked S2

Ok, I've had my galaxy s2 for a while now and have been running either AOKP or CM of some sort for almost a year. I've been running AOKP JB since it was released and things seemed fine... until today. I was at the gym on my lunch break from class and noticed after about 45min I had lost 50% charge. I had noticed that beautiful widgets had taken a long time to do an update later and thougth maybe it was a rouge app acting up. So I forced closed it and rebooted my phone. Now it just sets on the Samsung Galaxy SII screen. I can't boot into recovery or anything.
I've pulled the battery and followed the steps to get into recovery manually, but nothing works. Any help would be appreciated.
Phones dont brick themselves.
battery charge when powered off and connected to charger?
get download mode if you connect USB while holding vol buttons and powered off?
Recovery is tricky, kinda. Hold vol buttons, press and hold power. wait for bootscreen to come on, off, back on, wait a sec then release power button. recovery should pop up after a few seconds.
I'd wipe cache, dalvik, and fix permissions when you get into recovery.

My plan before it started acting up was to reboot it and wipe cache and etc to hopefully fix the crazy drain. I will be able to put it on the charger once I get out of class and check to see if I get the charge icon.
After some messing around on my breaks in class I can get into download mode by holding volume down and the power button. Where it ask me to press volume up to continue or down to cancel IIRC.
Recovery VIA holding vol up and down plus power isn't working. So, hopefully once I get home I can get into download mode and reflash it. I've seen a few threads on using odin to flash stuff, but it keeps mentioning that I need a gingerbread kernal. Since the phone has already been rooted etc can I just reflash the Fluxi kernal that comes with the AOKP and hopefully get back into recovery to do wipe and reinstall?
My stock s2 did basically the same thing. I picked it up to check email, it froze and rebooted, and no wont go past the Galaxy SII screen.
Not even rooted. From what I understand from the Rep, its a memory failure, and is fairly common.
That's coming from a Rep though, so take it as you will.

If you dont care about the flash counter, then yea, you can flash whatever kernel you want in Odin/Heimdall. boot into recovery and then flash the ROM again.
As for the memory failure. h/w failure would explain the issue. but thats something that I havent heard of, and even noobs of this site are smarter than most at&t reps.

Alright it lives again. I was able to use the Odin3 one click to get back to GB then reflash AOKP JB from there.
