Hi im a newbie here.
I am a micromax a110 aka canvas 2 user, i purchased this unit from the philippines. I have flashed my fone to mr. Patani's JMP XTREAM (ics) and i noticed that my proximity sensor wa not working but i get used to it. And then i flashed again to cynus t2 for the jelly bean update and my 2 sensors didn't work! And then i read about mr patani's JMP for jelly ean but sadly my sensors are not working also.
Please someone help me. Mr patani or someone,please,i definitely need your troubleshooting for this problem. I want to update my fone to jelly bean.

Finally after several emails to micromax i got 4.2 update for my a116 near my locality (initially they asked me to travel 100kms from my home) at a service centre.
After getting my glossy a116 updated to 4.2 i want to root the phone. But as its micromax and very little amount of earthlings are proud owners of such a cheap phone so i couldnt get much developers or rooting info about the phone though xda has some rooting tutorial but all those are for 4.1.
Any idea any1 as how to root A116 having 4.2 stock rom?
Or just the A116 4.1 rooting tutorial will work?
and anyone rooted their A116 4.2 phone? or any problem in rooting A116 4.1?

I know that the french clone (the one i have) "WIKO Cink Five" have his compass working with his 4.1.2 stock rom.
I have a LewaOS rom installed on my device and someone told me that all rom based on Micromax A116 can't have the compass.
Is that true?

Results from my research : The compass (magnetometer) is working for me with a 'A919i based rom'. It should be a problem in the A116 rom development

did you mean compass(magnetometer/digital compass).........
there is no magnetometer or digital compass in canvas hd which shows you the north south direction and only have gps....

Hi have you try installing the rom from MyPhone A919i? I've tried installing the Canvas hd 4.2.1 rom on the A919i and the magnetic sensor isnt detected but on the A919i rom the magnetic sensor is present

Thank you very much. You confirm what i heard. Compass can't work with 'A116 based ROMS'
I'll try to find some custom roms based on the A919i.

+1 on this, also happened to me. My compass was working on YONIP V.5 ROM before. Proud owner of MyPhone A919i. Canvas 4 ROM for Canvas HD installed on my phone. Smart Tools doesn't detect any compass. Hope we can have some solutions for this. By the way the developer site of myphone is down for a couple of weeks now. not sure what happened.

This means wikocink5 and A919i both have magnetic sensor for direction sensor but CHD does not have. How poor? I mean how much money MMX people have saved by avoiding it? DAMN
Yup so sad there is no magnetic sensor in our canvas HD apart from this everything else is fine with this phone...

have superuser installed and working fine,
now all i need is how do i downgrade my phone to 4.0.4 ( ics )
Please note i need 4.0.4 only.
i heartly request developers to throw some light on this issue, as i really need it badly.
