Finally after several emails to micromax i got 4.2 update for my a116 near my locality (initially they asked me to travel 100kms from my home) at a service centre.
After getting my glossy a116 updated to 4.2 i want to root the phone. But as its micromax and very little amount of earthlings are proud owners of such a cheap phone so i couldnt get much developers or rooting info about the phone though xda has some rooting tutorial but all those are for 4.1.
Any idea any1 as how to root A116 having 4.2 stock rom?
Or just the A116 4.1 rooting tutorial will work?
and anyone rooted their A116 4.2 phone? or any problem in rooting A116 4.1?

Hi im a newbie here.
I am a micromax a110 aka canvas 2 user, i purchased this unit from the philippines. I have flashed my fone to mr. Patani's JMP XTREAM (ics) and i noticed that my proximity sensor wa not working but i get used to it. And then i flashed again to cynus t2 for the jelly bean update and my 2 sensors didn't work! And then i read about mr patani's JMP for jelly ean but sadly my sensors are not working also.
Please someone help me. Mr patani or someone,please,i definitely need your troubleshooting for this problem. I want to update my fone to jelly bean.

I want update my Canvass HD A116 from 4.1.2 to 4.2.2 or 4.3. But I cannot visit the service centre.
Searching the forum, I found that there is provision for OTA upgrade, but there is no System Update menu on my device.
Please advise.
Also I want to know, if I can use it like the Canvass 4>
First update to 4.2.1 using sptools...search the forums for updating...and after that...we'll receive OTA updates..
And 4.3 is still awaited..

the OTA is available on the 4.2.1 and not on the 4.1 so update ur phone to 4.2.1 and u will see the same on ur phone for future updates:good::laugh:
Guys my a110 currently running on jelly bean 4.1.1.. How can i root it and any other custom roms to increase performance.. Lastly can i install jellybean 4.2.2.

Jellybean 4.2.2 is not officially available. A very Pre-Alpha version is available which is not recommended for newbies.

we've seen many canvas 2 roms working for this device through patches , but it would b really helpful if they make a rom for this devie only for the camera doesn't work on canvas 2 roms.
