Ran ota after temp unroot, update went fine, no matter what I do I cannot restore root. The app mentioned above isn't working nor is voodo.
Tried over and over to run the root program and it continued to fail. Thought maybe installing Super User and not Supersu would work..
After installing Super User, now have Root back and everything doing normal.

As far as I know you can't directly root the 2.3.6 update. You need to root before you update and use a root saving app to allow you to reapply root after the update.
If you used the OTA here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1353142 you can downgrade to SPU9 with RSD lite, apply root and then upgrade again keeping root using vodoo rootkeeper. The instructions are in the first post.

And then can't return back 2.3.5.
So, big problem.

Hi, zeidof.
Thanks for any help was the last time.
But, it was failed flash on my Razr.
It seems like bootloader lock is different.
I think, must only wait for Korea SBF is leaked.
Or need to another root way.
Now i'm using an ordinary Razr, because my mistake.
Yes, it can be rooted.
I lost root. The method does work.
You MUST reboot phone and start fresh.
It must be a freshly booted system or the exploit may not work.
It worked for me.

How to root Korean Razr XT910K?
Hi.
How to root Korean Razr XT910K? I've already updated this new (yet un-rooted) phone to official Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4.
I don't want to install other rom, but I only want to be able to backup & recover all my apps+data in the future and to remove (if possible in my case) some stock apps which I don't need.
I tried to search an appropriate thread to post and this one seemed to be the closest one.
Thanks in advance.

Hi.
Is there a rooting feedback from anyone for this Korean Razr XT910K with this tool?
Because korean smartphones are so customized by providers that they are different from others. This makes them a little complex and risky to root without hearing some experience. Especially, taking into account that it's already updated and now it has:
- Android 4.0.4
- System version: 67.42.17.XT910K.KT.en.KR
- Firmware: GAS_ASIA_SPYDERICSKT_P006
- Baseband: U_KR_04.03.00R
- Kernel: 3.0.8-gf9e09c1 [email protected] #1
- Webtop: wt-3.0.0
- AP flex: GAS_ASIA_SPYDERICSKT_P006, GAS_ASIA_SPYDERICSKT_A002
- Build number: 6.7.4-27_SA-17
Finally, I wouldn't like to get a new and advanced "media player" for $270 named Motorola Razr
Thanks for any constructive input.

That's a good utility, but bear in mind that you'll be on 651.73.30, which is the EU version. If you want back your original, you should use either RSD or Fla****, together with the fastboot files.

You rooted AND you have the update?
I installed the leaked ICS update, but I have apparently lost root. I tried using Voodoo, but it just says that it has been denied Superuser permissions and that there is no root backup available.
So I tried just plain rooting it using the Motofail method again, to no avail. It says that it is successful in completing the exploit.
However, no matter what app that requires root that I open, it says that the app has been denied Superuser permissions without even prompting me. Root checker says I am not rooted.
I went into the Superuser app, and I went to update the SU Binary. It says that Superuser has been granted Superuser permissions. But then it fails out at the end and says "This updater cannot update the su binary on phones that have some kind of write protection like S-ON. You can continue to use Superuser with your outdated binary, or update su with ROM manager."
I shouldn't even need to update the binary though, since it says I have the latest one installed.
What can/should I do? It's getting kind of annoying not having root on my phone.
Something along the same line happened to me too bro,I also made a thread about it but to no avail:-/ if you find something out,let me know and I'll do the same.

So if you dont have root access, will the terminal move the unzipped su file? How can you apply this to your sysytem? Voodoo doesnt give you options to search for the file either. Of course, nothing has superuser permissions without root either. I guess Im too much of a n00b.
Same here
Na dude its not noobish,im tryna figure out everything myself,I've been flashing since the hd2,so i know a couple things but this is just mind boggeling lol
I'm at a loss. I've downloaded your su-backup file, but I don't know how to move it to the /system folder, as it is write protected, and I don't have root to bypass that. And whenever I tried typing things in using the terminal, it just denied everything.

You can't move this file to system folder because you have a non-rooted device. Be patient, we are working hard on that....

whast lazy panda ?
One, this should have been posted in the q&a thread.
Two, lazy panda is a method to achieve s-off. Make sure your not on hboot 1.15. If you are, just kick it for a bit.
You can also unlock it through HTC dev, load a custom Rom that's already rooted (I like meanrom), and wait further development for hboot 1.15
