buddy of mine with this tablet asked me to look into a custom recovery for it, trying to search pulls up a lot of older information and im not quite clear on it all (never used a sony device)
anyways, so the bootloader is locked but he tells me there is a bypass? has anyone tried to make cwm with the bypass? has anyone tried to make a 2nd-init/bootstrap recovery?
Thanks for your interest.
I don't think there's been any talk of a bypass here, not that I've seen anyway, neither has there been an attempt at a custom recovery for either of the Sony Tablets here.
so its just a locked bootloader and that's all there is to it then?
thanks for the info and reply
It would seem so mate yes

Do you know much about adb?
When I had my Sensation, this thread explained how to do it with adb, or with flashable zips. Maybe, if you understand the workaround with adb (I don't really understand it), you can try to find out what to change in order to make it work for HOX+
However, if you don't know much about it, I certainly don't advice you to do ANYTHING, in case you brick your device

hello! thanks for your reply, to be honest i do not know that mucho about adb, guess i am going to start reading about it, then try this, thanks
Hello guys, I'm knee deep in ****.
I recently got tired with my E10i, so I decided that it needed a better ROM and kernel. So I went ahead and rooted it and unlocked the bootloader, atleast I thought that, and installed Clockworkmods recovery since I'm familiar with how it works from my Nexus 7 which I have flashed countless times.
Since I've done this before I didn't think that anything would go wrong. That was until I found it a bit weird that I got error 7 on everything I tried to flash. So I fooled around with the recovery thinking that it was just a simple fix I needed to execute.
I then found out that I wasn't able to boot into the official firmware which makes me unable to unlock the bootloader, I think.
Flashtool isn't able to flash anything either and reports that my bootloader is indeed locked.
Please give me some suggestions or solutions to how I can make my E10i flashable again.
Thanks in advance guys!
Hello everyone, this is my first post, the one issue that made me register
Ill be as short as i can :
I have a sony xperia P t-mobile locked so:
-Bootloader locked,
-root goes up no problem, works,
-CWM goes up this one,works:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020895
-i copy the rom on the phone, factory reset all that junk, i start to flash i get the "getprop nypon" aka Status 7 error code(tried several roms, all do the same)
-i go and modify the upgrade script via this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302599
The rom installs, i install the gapps and whatnot and when i go to reboot it goes brick, i can get it to vibrate for hard reset but thats all(luckily the xperia updater software recovers so its not bricked out atm) but thats all, no other response no sony logo no nothing.
I was trying to flash the CM11 nightly to my phone, and i dont have a clue what have gone wrong... any ideas? should i try another one? did i mess up the flashscript modifying?(i checked for space) Any input and suggestion is highly appreciated, thank you in advance!!

And why exactly are you trying to flash a rom that is for unlocked bootloader only?
No CMs for you., stock based ROMs only..

You can't "flash", as this feature in the BIOS, but you can do virtually anything you want with your phone once you have root permission.
Is your bootloader unlockable?

Hmmmm, have you checked in service menu?
There might be unofficial method, I don't know if it's for unlockable bootloader.
Luckily, here it's not allowed bind users to service anymore, and carriers must unlock it if the owner of the phone request it.

yep i checked the service menu thats why i know its not unlockable. i might try to get in touch with t-mobile support and ask them for an unlock code... the only ones i found on the internet, costed quite a sum of money. anyway, i wouldnt even bother with it that much, the speed is acceptable and im okay with the default sony interface, but the phone app freaking out and freezing a lot makes me a bit angry about it...

You mean the phone lag issue with incoming/outgoing calls?
It's not too bad in firmware 6.2.A.1.100.

Yes i mean that. Its not that bad and a complete off/on solves it for a while, still it cripples the main usage of a phone...it can be quite annoying when it ballses up when you need to make an urgent phonecall...

Yes that's true, I realy wonder why sony did not fix that yet.
For me it's first of all a phone, the rest is just etras.
I need some help with this, and seeing that people have worked on the Infobar A01/02 I would assume there's people here who can tackle this. I have no idea how you would go about Rooting or Unlocking a SHARP device, let alone a Japanese one and I don't see the C01 listed anywhere.
I'd also like to know how I would go about installing a ROM alongside the default one on here.

Anyone at all? The least I'd need to know is how to boot into recovery mode. I found one site that talks about the power and volume buttons at startup but nothing happens. I've gotten into recovery with a G1 but that's about it. Do I have to like inject my own recovery bootloader or something?
Bumping, still no luck on finding a GingerBread 2.3.4 rooting option.
I'm trying to inject su and Superuser manually but I can't mount with the recovery menu, so I'm trying to install CWM but I need root to do that, but that gives me root to give myself root. l:L
I'm in a vicious cycle, pls send hepl im dyign
What's a universal root method for GingerBread 2.3.4?
Just found out you can't get a universal root for 2.3.4 and that you have to have a custom method. Ho how would you go about making a root method at all?
I also think that the phone has a locked bootloader which would explain why I can't access the recovery menu options. I feel a bit silly, I suppose that's a large reason why some of this stuff isn't working at all. If anyone knows some Infobar bootloader stuff just feel free to post.
I just found a thread about someone else trying to figure out all of the things I'm trying to figure out only it's not on an Infobar but another Sharp device on KDDI. I think they eventually found someone else had made a root, but I kinda didn't read the entire thread. Still wondering if anyone has already got a solution.
Much the same
I have a c01 here in the UK, still wearing factory stickers. A very poor buy, considering I can't make a call with it. I have looked high and low but can't get anywhere with it. Sharp/kddi/AU I have asked them all. No can do. Although I read a Canadian chap had his unlocked by them, they simply won't at any cost.
I can't even get a phone shop to look at it.
To be honest, I know about as much as my gran about mobiles. I'm a quick study, but would rather pay, if there was somebody to pay.
Any positive direction would be much appreciated. Best advice so far is to bin it and try to forget.
hi all, i have been ready through posts but dont have the answer, can some please help.
is it possible to install a custom firmware from this phone's current state. (bootleader never been unlocked)
and has ota 4.4.2 on samsung vzw note 2
many the instructions for install custom firmware say to get twrp installed, and this is where in stuck
i tried to install most recent twrp tar twrp-2.8.7.0-t0ltevzw.img.tar using odin and it seems to get about 80% but then fails.
i then tried to unlock bootloader so i could use fastboot to install an img file, like twrp-3.0.2-0-t0ltevzw.img but the "adb reboot bootloader" command just restarts the phone, skipping the fastboot screen
am i spending counless hours in something that is not possible?
I certainly have learned alot in my journey, but I'm getting doubtful its possible.
thanks all
i found this user trying to accomplish same thing, should have piggy backed off his thread, but as of 05/2015, still no way to unlock bootloader

Unfortunately the device has kinda been left behind those who have a locked bootloader really only have 2 options stay on stock with root. Or install safe-strap and flash a touchwiz 4.4.2 modified rom. Which is awful because this device has potential. If a developer is reading this please make one more attempt to unlock this device . I'm sure the xda community would help you. I definitely would! I hope a developers reading thanks very much..
