So after much searching I found a solution:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=882861
1. open Kies
2. open your last saved *.spb file
3. save the file again as *. vcf manually in the file name area
4. go to were normally saved spb files ( C:\Users\ _\Documents\samsung\Kies\PIMS)
5. you will find all the contacts saved as vcf file.
6. select all contacts and copy them in a directory (ontacts)
7. connect your samsong to the pc and copy the directory (cotacts) in to the sd card
8. disconect your samsong
9. select the contact icon
10. from the left key press and select import contact from sd
then install the following and import

[Q] How TO Transfer Contacts

hi i want to transfer my SGA contacts to Samsung C5212 (Fizz), but when i export my contact to sd it creates single VCF file and c5212 doesnt support single vcf rather its only imports my first contacts so how can i split my contacts to multiple vcf file or ho can i export my contacts to multiple vcf file from sga
Samsung Kies?
i found a better way Moderator kindly close this tread ...
I want to share with you a painless solution for transferring full contacts
1) First, on my SGA I exported my contacts to sd as VCard which save to a single file (x.vcf), then I transfer this file to my computer in a folder (for ex. c:\TEMP\x.vcf).
2) Then I use the attached application (VCF Splitter ) to split x.vcf in single VCF files. Extract vcfsplitter061220.zip to c:\TEMP\ and you'll have 2 files: vcfsplitter.exe and readme.txt.(IMPORTANT: You must drag x.vcf over vcfsplitter.exe in WINDOWS EXPLORER!!! otherwise will not work <in TotalCommander not worked for me>)
VcfSplitter download page: www.dm9.se/?dl_id=1
3) Then install NOKIA PC SUITE and in section "Contacts" select "Import" and you can select all single vcf files created with vcfsplitter.
And that's it. I hope some of you will use this tutorial.
See you soon
How about exporting you contacts and syncing them with your google account, (additionally) you can manage groups and chose which contacts you will get on your new phone

Where does android store contact photos ?

Hi guys ... Well I want to export all the contact photos Android is currently storing for all my 'Phone' contacts ..
Does anyone know where Android stores all contact photos/images ?
I'm currently running a Sense 3.6 ROM (Virtuous Affinity) on my Desire Z ..
Well I could not find them anywhere on the SD card, but I did find another solution to this, which can work until something better comes along:
1) Download and install Titanium Backup
2) Open Titanium Backup, and create a backup of the Contacts app
3) Open the SD card on your PC, and then open the 'TitaniumBackup' folder
4) Find your backup here .. if its date sorted, find the backup that was created most recently maybe ..
5) Open the TAR file in WinRAR, and then open the 'files' folder inside the TAR file
6) All associated contact images should be here now ..
Please 'Thank' this post if this helped you out

Data restore problem using Sony PC Companion

I am using Sony xperia S without any major problem.
But facing little problem after reset to factory settings or firmware repaired by P C companion . I back up my contacts, messages, Bookmarks and Settings using P C Companion There was no error or problems during the backup process.
After updating firmware When I tried to restore my data. It always shows that 'data restore failed'.
PC Companion has stored a ".dbk" file on my PC. But PC companion failed to restore my data to my SXS. I used both Windows 7 and XP but failed to get back my data.
Sony also aware this problem see this link-
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/35170
If anyone also facing this problem please share your experiences in this thread.
That happened to me too...
I tried everything and there is no solution...can't find any help on internet...sony support is useless in this matter...they don't even know why this happens!
Hope some solution comes out soon cause I lost a lot of important stuff like meeting, SMS, contacts...
1st yellow tint...then yellow white, micro and ear sound issues, now this...thanks a lot Sony...you are really doing it right
PS - I'm using this app now for backing-up and restore:
http://www.elita-clan.com/downloads/...re_v010935.apk
It is very easy to use and it works fine on my XPS
Solution
Hey there!
I had the same problem (just wanted to retrieve my Contacts) and managed to get them. In the following I will explain how. This method probably works with backups from other mobiles made with Sony PC Companion too.
I got the same problem (also only fullbackupdata), after rooting my mobile and not thinking of the problem, that it might not be able to restore the contacts.
Here's what I found out: I couldn't find anything with Google, so I decided to just look at the data of the file. It starts with:
ANDROID BACKUP
1
1
none
I did some Googeling again and found out, that it is the same file like an ICs created adb backup.
I also found a project to retrieve Data from backups: ht tp s: //github.c om/nelenkov/android-backup-extractor
HOW YOU CAN RESTORE YOUR DATA:
Get your Fullbackupdata-Contactfile.
1. First go to your backupfile: (C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\Sony\Sony PC Companion\SomeNameDependsOnLanguage\
2. Make a Copy of your backup-File (crtl+c, crtl+v)
3. We want to change the file extension, so make sure you see it. If you don't see a .dbk at the end of your file, go in the explorer window in the left upper corner on organise -> Folder and search options. Change to view and then deselect "Hide extensions for known File types"
ht tp://kb.winzip.com/kb_upload/image/folder_options2.png
4. Rename (F2) the file to backup.zip
5. Open the zip with 7zip or something similar.
6. Navigate to Applications\com.sonyericsson.android.contactsimport and get the fullbackupdata file which is lying in this folder.
7. Put this file on your Desktop.
8.Download this jar-File: ht tp: //ge.t t/64TJmne/v/0?c
9. Put the .jarFile also on your desktop.
10. Doubleclick the .jar-File. After a few seconds a new file with the name "restore.tar" should show up (If not check if your fullbackupdata-File really has the name "fullbackupdata" and is on the desktop)
11. Open the .tarfile with 7Zip
12. Navigate to restore.tar\apps\com.sonyericsson.android.contactsimport\f\
13. Copy full_backup_vcard.vcf to the Desktop.
If everything worked you're finished, you can open this .vcf File via Windows-contacts -> import or put it directly on your phone and import it there (open Contacts. Settingsbutton -> impot)
If you don't trust my .jar file, you can also download the github-project follow their orders and compile it yourself.
I hope this helped also other people. It took me quite a while, so I thought I should share my solution.

Hm seems like you have an other phone configuration than me...
I tested it with Sony Xperia Go with android Version 4.0.4.
Try googeling in which directory your Contacts are stored, than open with my jar file this file and you should be good to go.
If you don't find anything, you can also write your model and I try to find a solution... best you email me, I'm not sure when I will get o this forum (send (at) johannesdeml.com)
@stricler:
Do you have Java istalled? Are both files in the same directory (my .jar-File and your fullbackupdata file (which also has this name))?
If you can't manage to do it, you could also send me your file if you want to ( send (at) johannesdeml.com).
My jar File should still work, got a lot of positive feedback here: talk.sonymobile .com/thread/51298?start=10&tstart=0

I had the same problem, here's the solution:
in step 6 instead of navigating to Applications\com.sonyericsson.android.contactsimport you should go to Application\com.sonyericsson.android.socialphonebook and get the fullbackupdata file from there.
I followed the steps. but on clicking on the jar app, my nokia suite opens up! :/

Thanks brother for all your help. All my contacts restored...!!

Well that is not a lot of information. Probably you have a problem with your java installation. Try to run the program with the commandline to get more information. Therefore run the command "java -jar restoreData.jar" in the folder where the jar lies.

1) make a bkp of all ur contacts on ur nokia phone as .vcf file then copy the same to ur pc.
2) transfer that .vcf file to ur s2 phones sdcard ( internal or external)
3) go to contacts setting then try importing the same by selecting 'Import from Sdcard' and see

Thanks for the reply i'll try that and by the way I meant bluetooth transfer...I used to get all the vcf's at once but now it's one by one..
This doesn't work as my nokia is an old nokia N95 and can't save contacts as vcf...
This is how I used to do it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXHtHntihTY
but now I keep getting the contacts one by one...not sure why !!!!
You could also try copying the contacts to your SIM card and then use the same SIM card on ur GS2 and Import from SIM Card
tried that already...got a SIM card full msg...lol
the easiest way for me was to synchronize all my contatcs with my googlemail account. Once you have uploaded them, you can restore them on any android based OS. Noo need for bluethooth, or any vcf files...

In that case use Nokia PC suite :
-Connect your N95 to your computer via USB cable
-Click on the "Contacts" icon
-Click - File - Export
This will export as a text file. Then use google contacts on ur pc and import this file and synch using your phone.
Thanks a lot for the help guys...all sorted out and fine now

[Prob] Got Issues with connecting GS3 to Kies ?

Hello,
I'm from India and using Galaxy S3 now.
My phone (Galaxy S3) fails to recognize on Kies. I'm doing everything correct , but still it is not showing in Kies.
Previously it worked for me, but now its not at all.
Kies show this error message :- "Unable to connect to GT-I9300.Failed to retrieve device information."
I've installed all the drivers successfully. I've updated version of Kies installed.
Actually, I imported my contacts and saved it on my laptop. Now, I can open that "contacts.sbp" file only on Kies. Or is there any other way to again import that file to my GS3 ?
Please, help me guys !
Thanks.

Also try to reinstall kies. Most probs will get fixed.
Use Google for your contacts in future, I know that doesn't help right now, but will save you trouble in the future.

Open Kies
Open your saved spb file
Select all the contacts
Click SAVE
Select a location on your PC, create a directory called Contacts.
Browse to this directory and save the file using VCF as your file extension
Yes it doesn't give VCF as a file type option so just manually type it.
Check the directory and it should be full of vcf files.
Copy the directory to your Phone SD Card and import using contacts import.
Does this work?

Yes i mean folder.
As i said quoted before "it doesn't give VCF as a file type option so just manually type it."
Im facing this error after rooting my device. Tried using different pc no avail. Tried by rooting another sgs3, it also stopped being detected by kies :/
I upgraded my GS3 with the latest Firmware by using download file for samfirmware.com .
And after I installed the latest firmware, Kies stopped to recognize my GS3.
Is there anyway to resolve this ? Anyone experiencing the same problem, here ?
Now that you mention, I did the same thing and I too am facing the same problem.
