Hi all,
Quick question, couldn't find an answer in search.
I have fallowed the instructions to the letter and when I get to the section where I input the request for a token, I get this message in the command prompt, "waiting for device".
I have the AT&T One X+.
Any ideas please, thanks.
If you need any info, please ask.
Steve
What exactly are you trying to do? Are you trying to unlock the bootloader?

To unlock my bootloader I use a toolkit from hassoon. Switch usb ports make sure usb debug is enabled and then use the toolkit where you can choose the unlock.bin file. It's pretty easy using the toolkit.

I tried the kit from Hassoon, but when I tried to download driver files, it said this doesn't work with windows 8.
I tried other cords and ports and get the same message.
Kind of lost here.
This might be worth a shot but have you tried changing the compatibility to Windows 7 anything other than Windows 8

You have a space in the directory path. Copy the folder to the C drive and it'll work.

It just keeps saying device not found. It started successfully but it says not found. Must be a bad cord or something. Kept getting that message in the HTC software too. I am on windows 8, is that a problem??? I have XP on my desk top.
Thanks so much for the replies.
Tried it on my desktop which has windows 7 and XP. used 7 and got the devise not found error.
Do I need mock locations or any other settings?
Is the cord that important? I have tried several diff cords. And ports.
Lost! :crying:
That doesn't have anything to do with it just make sure usb debug is enabled.
Have you tried entering fastboot manually? What I usually do is I use the toolkit, put my phone in fastboot, plug in the phone and it will change to fastboot usb. Run the unlock bootloader option on the toolkit. Select your unlock.bin file. The first command prompt will say no device or waiting for device. I usually close out the command window after you close the prompt another one will pop up and will send the bin file to the phone. And will see on the phone to unlock the bootloader.
Also make sure you do have the correct usb drivers installed.

Well, nothing is working. HTC sync wont recognize my phone either.
Does anyone have a link for the drivers needed on a windows 8 computer???? The drivers on the post for the all in one tool kit will not work on my system. I don't know if I have the correct drivers or I don't.
Uninstall HTC Sync, then take a moment to read and follow this instruction page, it should work after.

So my friend is finally unlocking his hboot 1.5 phone and is having some trouble. He gets to the part where you type the commands in the command prompt and it is supposed to pull up a bunch of numbers. Unfortunately it just says "waiting for device" instead of spitting out the numbers. Anyone have any ideas what we are doing wrong?

ok write the imei in notepad than run the unlock tool as administrator. Copy the code from notepad to the area where you write the code and connect the phone in fastboot mode. DO the rest by yourself

You don't give enough information, no HBOOT, wrong section, etc.
You can't expect any help while doing the basics wrong.

Check token failed
Did you copy and paste the data correctly?
From the command:
Code:
fastboot oem get_identifier_token
Yes
Hi
My original concern is too get rid of the android software originally put on my htc wildfire by my phone operator. Important precision: I have a mac computer.
For this i figured out i had to unroot the phone or unlock the bootloader (am I right? My overall android level is not good).
So I tried unrevoked, which said that my "hardware is too new". Then I tried to unlock my bootloader following the instructions on htcdev (and other similar forum topics) but I got an error message "Command error" when I type "fastboot oem unlock" or "fastboot oem get_identifier_token", and nothing happens.
I then noticed that htc says I might have to update my hboot (I currently have 1.02.0002), but I have no idea how.
I tried any other stuff found on forums such as factory reset (*sigh*), changing usb cable, changing usb port, trying from another computer (still a mac), etc...
I saw threads such as "use a gold card", but it seems complicated and I don't have a pc anyway.
Well, I've been wandering in the web for days, I'd be happy if someone had an idea!
Also I don't know if this is the right forum, but I'm not allowed to post elsewhere because I'm a new member.
I would reccommend that you borrow a Windows machine as it is much easier to do on. By the way do you have fastboot installed on your Mac.

Ok thanks. Yes I have fastboot. So there's no easy way out on a mac.
Do you confirm i have to root or unlock hboot?
Well you can do it on a Mac and even I do everything on a Mac but if you are new to the subject it is better to use windows.

Alright, As I'm new to the idea of using Command Prompt to unlock a phone, I really need some help: When I try to get the Token for the website to allow the Dev Unlock, It will not load any text in the command window.
I've done it before, But it will not load this time. (I removed the battery, entered fastboot USB, and entered the command line text)
It just says "Waiting for device"
Any idea on what's happening?
HBOOT: 1.58.0 if it is of any use
