Should be able to call Verizon and give them the number and they can block it.

Download Mr Number from the market. It's free.
I like to call it 'ex-girlfriend control', as it is also effective at blocking text messages

I Am wondering if it is possible to turn and android phone with a bad esn into my house phone by using my wifi and a free voip app on the phone. What app would you recommend?

Theres an app my friend uses on his Xoom. I can't remember what it is off of the top of my head and his tablet is locked. I know you have to pay for calls after a certain point.

I have herd you can use sipdriod and I think Google voice and make it work. You will actually have a number for the phone for free over wifi.

Can you call for free over wifi?

It's called Groove IP. It works with your Google voice number. Get a free Google number and install groove Ip, sign on with your Google account and you're in business.

You guys gotta try groove Ip, it really works and it's 100% free over WiFi

Sweet! I'll check it out thanks!

Tried groove IP. Its ok but sipdrioid is free and seems to do the same thing. I have Google voice and sipdroid and can make phone calls out with my Google number. But still wonder if it will work on a known activated phone because it seems to need the android phone number to link it to Google voice. Any thoughts.

It didn't ask me for my number, utter should only ask for your Google account info. Is Google asking for your number or groove Ip.?
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
This is all it asks for...... I can send it to you but I don't know how to do it here
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
Yeah the number is created by Google voice and all you do is link groove IP or sipdroid to Google voice.
Can't get Google voice to link to my phone. When I call the Google voice number it rings my house phone not my cell.

Go on Google.com/voice from your computer and change the settings. IT HAS TO BE DONE FROM YOUR PC

Call reject list.

Here is my issue. I added someone to my reject call list. Few weeks later I removed that contact. I can get texts and phone them. But Every time they call me the phone sends them to voice mail still.
I have deleted the contact removed the Google contact as well. Rebooted and added the contact back in. Same results.
I am using fj ics rom

Did you make sure to remove them from the call reject list on your phone?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Sorry I didn't state that clearly in my post. Yes after a couple weeks I removed the person from the reject list.

You could wipe all caches from recovery...
That should clear any rogue data being used by applications...and may fix the issue....g
That was it. Fixed. Thanks.

Built in call blocker?

So I keep getting calls from this number that just seems to call even though I told them they have the wrong number. Some McDonald's that thinks I manufacturer the ice machine. They called 6 times in 10 mins. So has anyone used this call blocked that is built in our phones. I want to know if it works. I don't want to even see an incoming call on my screen or a voice mail notification if they call. Is this possible? If anyone has used this feature before could you explain how it works and your personal experience with it.
Thanks

You can log in to your Verizon account online and block numbers. Only lasts 3 months though, then you have to redo it.

Better yet just add the number as a contact and then there is an option to block all calls from that number.

Visual Voicemail

Does Verizon have visual voicemail like sprint? If so how can i get it to work? I'm so sick of calling and putting in my password for every missed call.

Google Voice for sure, you can also set it up so it is incorporated into your Phone or Dialer app. Plus email and/or text messages of the transcription it's great.

Having issues getting it setup. Now I have a notification saying two unheard messages but *86 no longer works and when I call the Google voice number it says no messages. Guess I'll hafta look for some sort of Google voice instructions or guide or something.
