Reflash the ftf file to your phone,if the problem persists(i.e version is shown as 2.3.x)then flash a different ftf to your phone.
I think the error is occuring because version appears as 2.3.x may be due to some kernel issues.

Well i was saying to try ftf for a different region but yep you can try flashing GB ftf too, even i got a weird problem with my touchscreen,it wasn't working after a bad rom flash(not ftf),i tried flashing ICS rom,but it didn't regain functionality. So i placed my last bet on GB ftf and it did work and then i flashed back to ICS.Now its problem free.
So yes..try flashing gb firmware...switch on your phone...then flash ICS firmware and then try rooting.
Gud luck.

Xperia U ST25i wont start
Hi, I had Unofficial JB ported from Xperia go for my U... then I flashed Infinity ROM v3 which said not to do factory reset but i accidentally did it... now my phone wont start it goes into bootloop..... :crying: i can only access CWM recovery :crying: What to do now??? please help
I have an Xperia Mini (St15i) which is rooted on firmware .431 with an unlocked bootloader. Currently i'm running CM 9.1 and want to change it to ZellyCream 1.3.0 which is for firmware .587. I want to upgrade to .587 without the loss of root and not bricking it. Can anybody please help? I searched XDA, google and CIGTFY for some solution but couldn't find it. I'm sorry if there is a same thread but i couldn't find it.
( FYI i managed to flash zellycream but it's full of bugs which other users don't have, might be because of firmware)
Since u have unlocked bl so no worries. Just flash any kernel compatible with the ROM and the bugs might be faced due to incorrect wipes. Do all the wipes mentioned in the ROM thread.
Press THANKS if I helped,
Best Regards,
AJ

Thanks for the reply man
Well i did everything mentioned in the instructions and as for flashing roms, whenever i flashed a rom with .587 firmware I have always faced some problems :silly: . This happened 2-3 times. Even in ZellyCream, i have bugs. Media scanner only recognizes about 150 songs whereas i have 500+ songs in THE SAME FOLDER. Same happens with photos. Only displays about 30-40 pictures! Also the camera quality, is bad. BTW that rom has cybershot and I get still blurred images. I flashed Lupus V2 (kernel) which is compatible with my phone and rom but still these problems occur.
Is there any way to flash the firmware (.587) just like flashing a rom?
And also it dosen't matter what firmware I'm on, if so then no need to flash the firmware right?
FYI- Clicked the thanks button :highfive:

You can flash stock ftf via flashtool or try using areniks .587 ROM which is flashable zip(Search in dev section). And then try it btw can it be something related to hardware coz on unlocked bl if u flash .587 kernel then ROM then no such probs occur. Anyways try flashing areniks ROM and then flash any other .587 based ROM oveer it

If you was on jb and you flash a kernel for ics it won't boot.

You want to flash just the kernel or the Rom mate? You can't flash ics kernel on jb rom. You have to flash or ics or jb.
If you want to downgrade to ics, just flash the ftf file.

You need to download stock rom ics or jb in .ftf file extension and flash it trough flashtool. It is 2 min of work. One min for prep and sec min for flash process. Your problem is rom not kernel...
You will this settings on see ya !!!
