Ive been finding a solution to unbrick my xt909...,
at first Ive thought that I can flash my device with a xt910 firmware but it came out that Ive bricked my phone
flash failure/boot failure and cannot even access to recovery mode
Here's what I did:
using RSD Lite I flash the device with an empty radio.img to rid out the boot failure and again flash my device using the droid razr utility 1.7
with 6.16.211..., it came out to be successful and now I can manage to boot my device recovery mode...
but... My problem is when everytime I update my device with any 6.16.211 update.zip I get a "signature verification failed"
Help here please

I don't know if this is a silly question or not, but did the md5 match before trying to flash the fastboot file?

atleast 80% battery
droid rarz utility 1.7
rsd lite
fastboot.exe or any fastboot command line tool
and some patience
1st - extract droid razr utility and find the mbmloader named " allow-mbmloader-flashing-mbm"
2nd - enter fastboot and flash the mbm... here's how
( fastboot.exe flash mbmloader allow-mbmloader-flashing-mbm.bin)
3rd - reboot
( fastboot.exe reboot-bootloader)
4th - erase the Contact I.D No.
(fastboot.exe erase cid) (fastboot.exe reboot-bootloader)
of course with a erased CID you'll never be able to turn on your phone into normal mode but still can gain access to fastboot
5th - download and flash the XT912 fastboot file
HTML:
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/cdma_spyder/VRZ_XT912_6.7.2-180_DHD-16_M4-31_1FF.xml.zip
6th - just wait and have some coffee
and youre done...,

No, you're stuck now with BP Tools. You can install BM and set the custom init to boot without BP Tools.

could u help me?
hi,19lilsaiNt68.
I have a KDDI IS12M cellphone just like you. And I also bricked it.
In your way,I tried to flash the file "allow-mbmloader-flashing-mbm.bin", but I got a error message said:" INFOimage bigger than partition / Failed". However, the command "fastboot flash mbm allow-mbmloader-flashing-mbm.bin " Can be executed. Then I erased my CID and I tried to flash XT912 fastboot file. In this step:"flash devtree",the screen showed the message:validation failure.
That is my biggest problem and now I don't know how to fix it. Could you help me? Thanks a lot!

Are you Encode from twit?
The problem is you flashed an ICS Rom. Try that first:
Boot into stock recovery and perform a factory reset. If it boots, ok. If it doesn't boot you should flash Jelly Bean. Just grab that one from VZW at sbf.droid-developers.org.
DON'T FLASH EU JB! Otherwise you won't be able to DOWNGRADE or switch to another region rom because it has the highest secure version compared to all others.
This is VZW JB: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/cdma_spyder/cdma_spyder_9.8.2O-72_VZW-16_1ff.xml.zip

That is what i am currently using and i am getting the boot loop back, Yeah this @EnCode_1
I got a boot loop on my XT910S (Korean XT910)
I forgot to install Safestrap and I just installed (/data based) CWM and installed CM10. (yeah I know I'm really stupid)
When I rebooted, CWM was gone and I got stucked on CM10 boot animation...
Because fastboot file and sbf for XT910S (Korean XT910) ARE NOT LEAKED (NOTHING!!!!!), (MOTOROLA, SERIOUSLY?)
I needed to erase CID and flash other region's fastboot file.
So I used these commands :
fastboot flash mbm allow-mbmloader-flashing-mbm.bin
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot erase cid
It succeeded until "fastboot reboot-bootloader"
but failed on "fastboot erase cid"
I have enough battery (Battery OK, OK to program in AP fastboot)
Is it because CID partition for XT910S is different from CID partition for XT910 GSM?
Pls help me!!!! :crying:
-----------SOLVED--------------
How I solved : I just did it one more time, and it succeeded...WTF?! XD

Like what I said, I just rebooted the phone into AP Fastboot Mode.
And I typed fastboot erase cid, it worked fine.
I had my XT910S (Korean XT910) bricked somehow and I decided to delete CID partition.
Korean fastboot file and SBF file haven't leaked yet, so I need to delete CID partition and flash other region fastboot file.
I successfully flashed Chinese and Brasil fastboots, but I failed to flash Europe one.
When I try to flash Europe one (by RSD Lite of course), It immediately fails at the first step (I think it was cdt.bin flash failed)
I thought if I delete CID partition, I could flash fastboots of any regions! Why can't I flash Europe fastboot?

I'm sorry, but u can't put ur CID back unless u made a backup. The only way to boot normally (not BP Tools-boot) with CID erased is to install BootManager which is in Play Store (need root). If u install it, u can boot normally from now on.
I tried to flash a downgrade image to my moto e 2nd gen. Now Im stuck in bootloader and a warning message for unlocked bootloder. Ive tried to flash logo.bin, and other images aswell with no luck. It keeps asking me to install a valid signed images, I don't know where to find these images. Please help!
You need to do exactly what it's asking you to do - flash valid signed images. Which model do you have (XT152x)? Which region are you in? Which version were you downgrading from?
Just so you know, downgrading the stock ROM is very highly discouraged as it can cause bricking in certain circumstances. In particular, never try to downgrade the stock ROM when the bootloader is locked. You can try flashing back the upgraded images and seeing if your phone accepts them. Be aware that the signed images must match your model number and region.

Hmm, so you went from a newer 5.0.2 build to an old 5.0.2 build? What were you downgrading to?
Go to this folder: https://mega.nz/#F!rMIhDLgR!oq5Cz_XbgZLEEysmqoYtcA
Navigate to Surnia ->5.0.2
Look for the file XT1524_RETEUALL_MOTOE2... (it's near the middle of the list)
Download and try flashing everything it in using fastboot.

I got my device back!! I did succeed to flash it with this rom "surnia_stock_5.0.2.zip" with TWRP. I did not have the patience to wait at the Motorola logo when booting, I have to wait 2-3 min and 2-3 min for services to start. for the device to boot. But now it doesn't register any sim card when at desktop?!?

Oh, you must have flashed something really wrong then. There are no 4.4.4 ROMs for this device. You would have flashed something totally incompatible and highly risky if you flashed 4.4.4 from somewhere. That may have wrecked your modem software too. Download and flash the proper XT1524-specific software with the correct modem. If you are unhappy with the performance of the stock ROM, you can flash scritch007's CM12.1.

I did solve the problem with these steps.
1. Find and download the files for your region.
2. Unzip files to a folder with fastboot and adb.
3. Create stock.bat with these commands and run stock.bat within the same folder as above files.
fastboot oem fb_mode_set
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0

fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.4
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.5
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase customize
fastboot oem config carrier vzw
fastboot oem fb_mode_clear
fastboot reboot
(4. I needed to reunlock my Moto E 2nd Gen at Motorolas site, because i did relock it.)
5. Get into bootloader menu and flash this TWRP image (i can email it to you) within the same folder and flash it with fastboot.
6. Restart phone. Wait 2-3 minutes so it boots into android.
7. Hope I made it clear enough to follow the instructions, if you got questions please reply and I try to answer them. Sorry for my poor english.

I have a Moto Z (XT1650-03) which I OEM Unlocked using the process to obtain a code from the Motorola site. At the moment, no real reason but yes, I've heard that some apps (like Android Pay which is supposedly coming here soon) don't work on devices with an unlocked bootloader.

I'm only trying to lock it because I wasn't able to fully root it. I can't get root to stick and I'd rather relock it so I can still use Android Pay. I'm stuck in between, I can't root it and I can't unroot it. -__-
Unlocking the boot loader has been a "one way" process for Motorola phones for a long time. I am not sure if it's a fuse that gets blown or what but I have never heard of some one re-locking anything but Nexus devices.

Thanks for comfirming, wasn't sure if Android Pay worked with an unlocked phone or not... oh well. Still haven't been able to ftr.
Locking the unlocked bootloader
I have spent days on the forums here on xda. I did come across a post from someone who seemed to have expertise (the development forum). It seems the Moto Z has a Qfuse. I you trip it then there is no going back. So Nougat is a one way path.
The good news that if you are patient then there is a path forward towards unlocking and rooting. Motorola voids you warranty but on the other hand they very much promote development and experimentation.

Since I've been researching on XDA today about relocking on another platform I can say confidently that many devices can have their bootloaders relocked. (Sometimes requiring 'tricky techniques') However there are generally a bunch of restrictions.
Specifically what I hoped to achieve was being able to customize a device with a 3rd-party rom and recovery, and then re-lock the bootloader for security reasons. (Making it harder for someone else to break into it if it gets stolen etc) But unfortunately most of them require all the partitions to be stock builds before they will re-lock.
Not sure, as I'm new to Moto Z, but my old Moto X could be rekocked. But it wouldn't return to a "locked" state. It world show as "relocked".
Could be the same result with the Z, and not sure how that would affect any software that is looking for a "locked" bootloader.

Very interesting.
I know the OnePlus devices are very blase about such things, whereas Samsung's have some sort of "tamper" flag whenever you unlock the bootloader.
I'm slowly but surely starting to get up to speed on which vendor does what.. lots to learn..
