[Q] Heavy Stutters with every rom and kernel - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So my Galaxy s3 all of a sudden started to have stutters, i have a custom rom Foxhound 2.3, and when i try any custom kernel it lags as hell. (Stock also gives stutters so its not kernel related i think)
For example perseus stutters my phone in app drawer and every time i open an application.
Syah 1.8.9. although its better, still have some stutters...
the only one that can have the phone more stable is the stock one. I dont really mind having the stock kernel its just that it makes the phone more stable but it still stutters when opening apps and in the app drawer.
Its weird because in applications i have no problems, and when im playing games is all good to.. even the more heavy intensive ones. Also my boot and shutdown animation stutter or jitters a little bit.. a thing that dint happened.
Also the benchmarks are good as always +/- 16000 on antutu, no changes... so i don't really understand whats happening...
Steps so far:
-Tested other custom roms including CM10.1 Nightly
-Tested various kernel.
-Flashed stock rom with odin
Every time with megawipe. always...

[Q] Problem with camera related with kernel

Hi I got huge problem while recording videos. The image and sound stops many times while recording , when i play video image and sound is unsynced. I spent many hours to solve this problem, the problem probably is with kernels. Goldenleaf.v111012 haven't this problem but this kernel has another problem with camera - it cant control the focus. I'v tried franco v18.1, v19.4 gbs versions ,cfs/bfs and it have problem with image and sound recording stops. Only old franco v17(v16? i dont remember) which is the stock kernel in my ROM void forever 2.3.4 works good, but it have another problem - really long wake ups from locked screen.
kinda same problem.
Running CM7 and whatever kernel that comes with it.
Camera works fine.
Video Camera crashes a lot, or seems to be constantly adjusting the lighting. Also it randomly pauses or stalls the video (no matter what setting it's on. found resetting to default gets the best results, but it still stalls).
I tried other apps, but it's the same thing.
Would like it to work because other apps (autoguard, timelapse....) all use the stock camera for there programs.
there is some problems with camera.... mine sometimes crashes at enabling video recording and stoch camera do not work. i am using lgcamera pro but i tried goldenleaf, franco v18,19.4 and problem still exist ;[
miks 6.5.8
After few hours of flashing lot of different roms and kernels i found this one : Gingerbread 2.3.4 Codename Phoenix with franco.Kernel .v1.1-02102011 | 2.6.35.14 - haven't this issue but i don't want to change my favorite void forever rom, so better ill wait for new kernels or rom update

Try OC min 480 Mhz. In any Rom, if you set min. OC below 480 Mhz you will get long waiting time before waiking up - CPU slow responsiveness.
its not fequency - ive tried it alost at begining

Blood & Glory [NR]

I just updated my NT to CM9 (Alpha 0.05.1). When I downloaded the game, I started off smoothly, but when I started to play, the touch screen just went crazy and would select stuff from random places all over the screen, including the CM9 menu bar at the bottom. Can someone tell me how it works on their NT or the nightly versions of CM9? This is very frustrating and also sometimes happens on other apps too, but mainly Blood & Glory.
lack of hardware acceleration might be the cause. the cm9 alphas isn't really suited for high level gaming or h/w accelerated video. that will have to be done using the 3.0.x kernel with cm9 when its perfected.
i would think the nightly builds could work, but of course u need to deal with the random reboots, SOD's etc...

Android 4.3.1 (CM 10.2 based) and poor browsing performance

I have tried bunch of 10.2 based ROMs and found ArchiDroid-s best for me. Every aspect of my cellphone is quite better with 4.3 ROM. Faster, smoother then 4.1.2. Except ONE thing... Browsing THE INTERNET.
It is not about how fast pages are opening, I'm not talking about this. It is about scrolling. I have tested in 4-5 different web browsers and it seems that all of them faces the same problem: slow down on 10.2 based ROMs.
For example, the smoothest of all - Dolphin, in the 4.1.2 ROMs, scrolling is like a game with 60+ fps, on 4.3.1 ROMs it is about 20 fps. And this issue is present in all web browsers. Anybody noticed it?

[Q] I9100 AOSP NeatROM 2.5 Music Player Issues

About 1 month ago I flashed Sale's NeatRom v5.42 and the Apollo Regular Kernel . It was a great rom, mostly because of its smothness and the battry drain (it drains less than the half of my stock ROM I9100LSD). One week ago I thought "Why don't try KitKat?". So I flashed the latest AOSP NeatROM and the correct Apollo Kernel. I also like this ROM, but I have some issues considering music playing with my smartphone. I've tried three apps (Google PlayMusic, RocketPlayer and finally now Apollo), but they don't solve it.
Music playing drains a lot more batttery than before.
When acitivating the screen while listening to music, sometimes the sound stutters.
Randomly the music player app seems to hang when a new song starts. Only after a reboot can listen again to music.
The first two points are only peanuts, but the last point is really annoiying.
I assume the only way is reflashing a stock based ROM, isn't it?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, the music player getting stuck is a known issue with KK roms for now, but its a random one.
U can try moving all ur music files on to ur Internal Sdcard (11.5gb one) and then try and also check the above with the stock kernel
Well, i have no external SD card (11,5 GB internal should be enough for my mp3's).
I've switch to the latest stock based NeatRom and stay there until this issue is resovled, but I miss the dashclock and DSP-Manager. Will this issue will be ever resolved? I cant't believe that bugs bugs are neglected in the develepment thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50067179&postcount=2379 ), but I'm now allowed to post there because of I've just registerd because of this issue. It would be great, if someone can make a statement that there are bugs. Either they should be fixed or the user should be informed that there are known issues with KitKat ROMs (that maybe cant't be resolved considering to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2612329). I would suggest that a moderator make a sticky. I don't want to attack the developers for their hard and volenteer work, but make suggestions.
OT question: Is my assume right that stock based ROMs are the most reliable beacause they are best optimized for the hardware?
So enough questions and reproaches. I'm proud that so many developers care about our almost three years old device.
