Thanks Chevy this will be useful for people who have hard cases and can't press the power button easily.

Re: [MOD] Turn your Camcorder button into a Power button
You're welcome! I built it in to the viper amaze Rom.
I'm still looking into actually getting the camcorder to work by pushing the button!

I have had this exact situation come up before. There is no need to feel bad about it, there are simply a lot of us out here now and we like to tinker around and share what we did with the community so everyone benefits. Thread Closed per the OPs request.

Hi.
I have been searching around the forums, and found only mod that allow this on HTC devices. I want to turn/wake my phone up by pressing volume button. is that possible?
I have tried nolock app, but it's not consistently working.
ps. I am on stock rom (rooted).
Thank you very much.
Use miui.. I think it has that kind of mod..

yeah. thank you.
but could i put it in stock firmware or some custom firmware by myself?
is it very complicated to do so?
thank you.
Just for future reference, questions go in the Q&A section, not general.
If you get widgetlocker, it can enable any button wake.

cool more roms ^_^
sweetness!! thanks brO!!
Can't wait to try this one out too.
I'll be flashing this. Hopefully it has as good of battery as stock. Something about adding all those other scripts/tweaks seems to kill battery life for me.
Im going to be uploading a new version in about 15 minutes. I have been testing it for awhile and its alot faster with another added goodie. stay tuned and check the goods list for what was added and changed

Menu bar in non-ICS apps.
Edit: Such as Tapatalk.
oh okay... no they are still there.
Cool. So what is the recent apps button used for since long press home is now recent apps? Didn't see it mentioned in the OP.
Nice to see team nocturnal around here. Is bill Bowers coming? Looking forward to when you remove the menu bar, and also curious what recent apps button does now that longpress home is recents. Anyhow, thanks for sharing.

RE: soft menu button
one edit I found was adding qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 to /system/build.prop, but it only removes the soft menu in non-htc apps....it's definitely an improvement.
got this from OMJ thread send some thanks his way!

Ha, start it. That'd be funny lol.
Installed it, able to get into the app just fine. Can't seem to set locations though. It tells you to push the plus button, but there's no plus button there.

Hello
I was tying to enable the 3 dot menu on the Xperia P, but I didn't succeed in recompiling the framework-res.apk. Maybe I was doing something wrong.
Also, while I was able to remap the Menu button to recent apps; I was getting the gingerbread style app switcher.
What I was to achieve here is using the Menu button as an app switching button. I switch apps far more than using the menu. Holding home is slow.
Can someone help me in this please.
