Hello
I was tying to enable the 3 dot menu on the Xperia P, but I didn't succeed in recompiling the framework-res.apk. Maybe I was doing something wrong.
Also, while I was able to remap the Menu button to recent apps; I was getting the gingerbread style app switcher.
What I was to achieve here is using the Menu button as an app switching button. I switch apps far more than using the menu. Holding home is slow.
Can someone help me in this please.

Hi, I'm using JB Moonbreaker V3.5 on my Xperia P. And I would like to remap my menu hardware button to the recent apps button. And the long press home button for menu instead. I'm quite new to this and could any kind soul please guide me on how to do so. Thanks in advance.

Hi.
I have been searching around the forums, and found only mod that allow this on HTC devices. I want to turn/wake my phone up by pressing volume button. is that possible?
I have tried nolock app, but it's not consistently working.
ps. I am on stock rom (rooted).
Thank you very much.
Use miui.. I think it has that kind of mod..

yeah. thank you.
but could i put it in stock firmware or some custom firmware by myself?
is it very complicated to do so?
thank you.
Just for future reference, questions go in the Q&A section, not general.
If you get widgetlocker, it can enable any button wake.

Does anyone know how to take a screenshot on the s2 with miui ???

Hold Menu Button then press Vol Down
[sarcasm] It's a good thing you posted your question in MIUI rom thread instead of making a whole new thread in developer section of the forum... [/sarcasm]
Here's a helpful link for future reference: http://bit.ly/vD2jxM
Thank you so much

Usually they'll have a "settings" button somewhere on the main screen. It looks like a group of sliders. (Or click your menu button?)

Is there a way to disable thé capacitive buttons?

Agreed, put in Q&A.
YEAH, it's Q&A, not DEV
lol not everything is kernel related..
Edit /system/usr/keylayout/clearpad.kl. Add # before each h/w button you want to disable, to disable all:
# key 139 MENU VIRTUAL
# key 102 HOME VIRTUAL
# key 158 BACK VIRTUAL

Save file and reboot. Remember to take a backup of clerpad.kl.

This isn't the Q&A section. It is reserved for developers to post developments and current projects (hence the section name)
You aren't a developer, you aren't posting a development or firmware or anything. You are asking a question...soooo...it should go in the Q&A section. Get it now?

Do you know the key for settings or other keys ?
You can set a key for search button, simply replace one value to SEARCH. It is also possible to remap a button to recent apps function, but that requires changes to source code I believe..

You're welcome! I built it in to the viper amaze Rom.
I'm still looking into actually getting the camcorder to work by pushing the button!
