I have P769 20D ( locked BL ) rooted by KDZ method long time ago. Now, I wanna update to 20F OTA. I installed rootkeeper, downloaded the OTA then restarted the phone . The phone showed the Android logo, updated for around 25% bar and showed the red triangular ! .
1) Is there anyway to complete the update ?
2) As for unlocking the BL, is there also any better method for P769 recently beside the wonky and mirrored touchscreen one ?
Thanks
1) OTA update requires no CWM, all boatware in place (basicly the system image has no change at all) to work. Chances are you did some thing to existing system partition so OTA fails. The easy way for you to update is to flash KDZ again. Better now you can update to 20H directly instead of 20F.
2) No, not yet.
Easiest thing is to flash this in cwm.

I am quite new to this so please be patient.
I flashed my unlocked (previous Vodafone) LG G5 with the official OPEN firmware a week ago. Since then I have had a notification on LG BRIDGE to tell me that a new update (H85020a) is available but whenever I tried to complete the update, I get an error to say the update cannot be downloaded. I have tinkered with LGUP before so downloaded and tried flashing but came to the Error 0x2000 every time. The update isn't available whenever I check for OTA.
My questions are: even though I have the official OPEN firmware now, are my updates still dependent on the previous carrier's release?
Have I messed up the update process somehow by flashing in the first place? Making LG BRIDGE unable to complete the update?
Any solutions for the LGUP error code out there?
I have the same problem with LG Bridge. I got the official EE OTA update today.
Hopefully Vodafone won't be far behind if you go back to that.
However, if you've flashed an open firmware you should get update directly from LG and they'll be faster than carrier pushed ones.

No you cannot. Once you download and try to install on rooted, it will give you installation error. You can flash stock KDZ and then update but in that case you will lose root.
You can update manually using LGUP.After update you have to root again.
Hi,
like others I had issues with the update via kdz file (V20e - some intialisation error at the beginning of the update process). What also works with no issues (except you have to install TWRP and root again) is the update via LG Bridge. It does basically the same LGUP does with the kdz-update. There is no loss of data as well. Worked fine for me.
My v350awm has flashed ulm's kdz. Will I receive a system update on my mobile phone in the future? Or can I connect the LG bridge to the computer for system update?
@ChazzMatt
I lost Download and TWRP, so I need ota update to repair the phone.
But it has not been updated for a long time. Has LG stopped updating it?
There's method in the T-mobile H932 root guide to fake the OTA update. It was discussed a few times. You can ask there.
But yes eventually more updates should come.
