v35awm ATT flash ulm kdz - LG V30 Questions & Answers

My v350awm has flashed ulm's kdz. Will I receive a system update on my mobile phone in the future? Or can I connect the LG bridge to the computer for system update?

LG K7 Metro PCS latest OTA update possible with root?

Noticed Metro now has an OTA system update out and since my pc access and bandwidth is limited I'm not setup to flash back to the newly available stock firmware. So I was wondering if anyone has had success appling this OTA update and keeping root using Flash Fire or another method.

Problems with getting Nougat for LG G5

I am quite new to this so please be patient.
I flashed my unlocked (previous Vodafone) LG G5 with the official OPEN firmware a week ago. Since then I have had a notification on LG BRIDGE to tell me that a new update (H85020a) is available but whenever I tried to complete the update, I get an error to say the update cannot be downloaded. I have tinkered with LGUP before so downloaded and tried flashing but came to the Error 0x2000 every time. The update isn't available whenever I check for OTA.
My questions are: even though I have the official OPEN firmware now, are my updates still dependent on the previous carrier's release?
Have I messed up the update process somehow by flashing in the first place? Making LG BRIDGE unable to complete the update?
Any solutions for the LGUP error code out there?
I have the same problem with LG Bridge. I got the official EE OTA update today.
Hopefully Vodafone won't be far behind if you go back to that.
However, if you've flashed an open firmware you should get update directly from LG and they'll be faster than carrier pushed ones.

Flashing kdz–lg update tool 2014 or lg bridge

I am going to be doing a warranty exchange and need to flash back to stock and relock. I have downloaded the V20L kdz. I haven't flashed a kdz since my first android, the G2x. What is the best option to flash it with, LG update tool 2014, or LG backup?
LGup

But for returning to stock i believe you can also use the bridge just fine

What would be the best/easiest way to upgrade an LS998 with US998 Nougat firmware?

I just bought an LS998 flashed to US998 firmware. It's not possible to get OTA or Bridge updates so I wonder what would be the best/safest way to upgrade to Oreo stock rom.
I have no interest in rooting or moding. Just stock ROM.
Thanks.

Flash latest US998 KDZ (firmware image) with LGUP. Current latest is US998 20H Oreo. In LGUP, you can use "Upgrade" mode and keep all data. If that doesn't work for some reason, then use LGUP "Refurbish" mode, which will still update the firmware but will super duper factory reset the phone.
LGUP is attached to every KDZ thread I maintain, along with installation instructions.
Here's the US998 KDZ thread:

V30 stuck at Verizon screen with four dots after flashing VZW Pie FW via LG UP

I have an AT&T V30 that is unlocked and running US99820E, and I am trying to flash the Verizon PIE FW (VS99630c_00_0902_ARB00) via LG UP. I have tried using the refurbish, upgrade, board DL, and partition DL options in LG UP.
After I flash the Verizon FW, when the V30 restarts it stays at the Verizon logo with the four dots.
I can flash back to the US998 FW via LG UP, but I can't get the Verizon Pie FW to work.

You have to use Frankenstein method to cross flash North American variants when using full image KDZ.
(And even Frankenstein does not allow T-mobile H932, due to different RSA encryption.)
You can't just cross flash Oreo and Pie KDZ back and forth. There's a method you have to use, where you first flash Nougat of that new variant, Master Reset (not Factory Reset) -- then you can update from there. That's how you got from AT&T firmware to US998 in the first place, right?
See the Frankenstein instructions.
Yes, it's different if you're using TWRP flashable zips to cross flash.

Thanks for the reply, ChazzMatt!
At what point in the process would I flash the Verizon Pie KDZ? Would it be after Step 4, flashing the Oreo US998 in Upgrade Mode? And do I flash the VZW Pie KDZ in Upgrade or Partition DL?

1) From US998 Oreo (you're on that right now, correct?), flash VS996 Nougat via Dev Patched LGUP in Partition DL mode.
2) Master Reset (which is not Factory Reset).
3) Then flash VS996 Pie in Partition DL mode. (Upgrade mode might work. But try Partition DL mode first.)
___
Alternatively if you had unlocked bootloader and have TWRP custom recovery, then you could install the VS996 Pie TWRP flashable zip straight from US998 Oreo.
___
Are you a Verizon customer? Is this why you want VS996 firmware? You have an already-activated Verizon SIM card?
Anyone resolved this?
I am having the same problem. Just switched from AT&T to Verizon. I followed the Frankenstein method (1. Flashed VS996 Nougat, 2. Master Reset, and 3. Flashed Pie using both Refurbish and Partition DL mode); both gave me the same result. After the red Hello, I get the Verizon with four animating dots @ full screen brightness. I let it sits for 30 minutes and nothing happen. I repeated the steps above and replaced step 3 with Oreo and it works fine. Then I perform an OTA update. Update 13 was applied okay, but Update 14 included Pie and after installing the update and reboot; it is stuck on the Verizon screen again. I also tried US998 Pie and it had the same problem.
Anyone has any idea on how to fit it?
