N4 Conversion for the E971? - AT&T LG Optimus G

Hi guys, Im a little bit confused (I came from the Htc One X+, no regrets) I know this is the wrong forum (I'm on Rogers [E971] ) I am wondering if the N4 conversion will work with the E971. I heard that there is nothing different except the bands that rogers currently uses. (I think it is 2100 Mhz for Rogers & 700 Mhz for AT&T) Please do not flame me, I asked on my forum and they do not know what they are talking about.
Much Love,
Thanks!

Your best bet is to jump on IRC channel lg-optimus-g and ask those guys to be sure, but I'm almost certain it won't work. Something about different partition tables on E970 and E971.

Offer $300 for T-Mobile UMTS

If anyone can get my Pro to work on T-Mobiles 3G network. I heard they are going to carry it and that hardware is the same its just the software....
Shoot me if its not passable but im trying :/
Wow, that's practically a 3rd of the devices price :O. I'm sure people would help you without offering the money. I would wait for the cooked ROMs as the might just fix the issue.
O yea
EDIT: You have to show me how to instal it and give me everything I need to instal it
thanks

I assume you're kidding right? As the Raphael forum is brand spankin' new I'll throw you a bone and guide you to ROM upgrading guide for the Kaiser from the Kaiser's Wiki. Upgrading the Raphael's ROM will be similar. BTW, seems nobody knows for sure if the UK version of the Raph has the necessary hardware for UMTS with AT&T or T-mobile.

Thanks for the help.
Im just lazy to look at all the numbers and roms and threads on if and what works. I just want the radio for 3g T-Mobile to work. It be nice to have some other cool features as well but I really need 3G
thanks again
Yea, as i stated earlier, you have to try out the different ROMs and have the exact settings to get it to work.

If you follow the instructions, you should be good to go. Just read and once you feel comfortable, do it.
See theproblem is its all over whelming to me.
I don't know if its 1700 or 2100 the phone has to have to work on tmo. And I also seen that the diamond shows 1700/1900 and 2100 umts but they are not active when someone selects it....
Kind of understand my position?
Tnx again for your reply
GlobalM3 - why don't you call TMO support phone number and ask which band to choose for 3G? Probably you also need to try to activate hsupa/hsdpa.
p.s.: anyway you should flash your phone to newest rom and radio available, possibly the fix is already in it...

t-mobile uses umts 2100
it not being active can have many origins
u need a abbo for it , a login, server ip etc
best to check with the customerservice or on the t-mobile website
you can register your account there and the phone
once on the customerpage of your account you can choose to have the settings send by sms
this will auto-configure the proper settings
Guys I am referring to T-Mobile USA 3G not Euro T-Mobile.
THanks for the shot at help

Well that's propably why you'll be seeing Rom's being singed to flash to Oli's SPL just like in th Diamond forum's
The main setup is safety.
Bricked devices being sent back to the Provider or HTC is in no one's Best interest (Excuse me if i used the incorrect phrasing here, but you know what i'm trying to say)
Heck i think if you donated 75 to XDA and 75 to anyone willing to help you flash and get the right tools there'd be plenty of users willing to help you out.
I think the most posters above are only trying to save you some money.
You'll need to flash a radio ROM from the AT&T ROMs. In fact, if you can, flashing the whole AT&T ROM may help.
I know AT&T and T-Mo USA have different bands, but the AT&T ROM is the only US ROM/Radio ROM, and so is the most likely to work (unless the devices ship with a radio ROM that covers all bands).
ROM flashing may come with a risk of bricking. Nothing is risk free, but the official RUUs are likely to work best (if the device is not CID locked that is)
Then I will donate some of that money to XDA
I wonder if att has the right band... but why would it :./
Thanks
It may not have the right band, but it's the only radio ROM that'll work at all on US 3G networks.

I don't know. But without the software, there's no change the hardware will work fully.
As stated, T-mo US uses UMTS 1700 and 2100. The problem is T-mo is separating HSPA between the two bands: 1700 for the uplink (HSUPA) and 2100 for the downlink (HSDPA). I may be wrong, but I don't think any other carrier does this (AT&T 3G uses 850/1900, but both links are available in both bands).
It is unclear at this time whether any of the radio chipsets in current Europe/Asia 3G handsets can support this split implementation, henceforth referred to as AWS (even though AWS is a bit of a misnomer, since AWS refers only to the US 1700/2100 frequencies and not necessarily the split-HSPA configuration T-mo US is using).
We will probably have to wait until T-mo/HTC puts out an AWS-capable device and dissect it to see which radio chipset it uses. If the Pro has the same chipset, there might be a good chance of flashing the radio to support T-mo 3G.

Get the international version i9100 or i9100P (has NFC)
Sorry do you have 4G network in Jordan?
@Nyssa1104 thank you man for reply international version has 1.2GHZ but t-mobile has 1.5GHZ why international are better i dont know if we have 4g but i certain that we have 3g
Definitely get the international version if you're planning on using custom firmware.
There seems to be a lot more development that has happened/is continuing to happen for this variant as opposed to the others. But as Nyssa mentioned, if you can get one (international) with NFC (so you can use it as a virtual wallet/tap to pay, etc) why not
@MistahBungle thanks man i didnt understand you so i will rewrite the question in another type if i bought a T-mobile can i unlock it to apply our Sim (orange, zain, ect) and what is the different between international and T-mobile
I honestly don't know if the T-Mobile version will work in your country or not (I have international version). The T-Mobile has slightly bigger screen, different processor, 4 touch buttons, support for 42mbps data speeds, and supports 1700mhz UTMS...This is all as far as I know. You might want to do a bit more research about the features yourself.
You might want to ask your carrier if this phone will work on their network or not before buying it.
thanks guy for help but i have a little question to people who used the 1.5 and 1.2 processor is there a big different between them
Are you sure you don't want a Galaxy Note? I wouldn't buy SGS2 now, when GN is out.
But if you get one, get the international.
AFAIK it's the same processor, only OCed a bit, what you can do with a custom kernel aswell.
T mobile sgs2 uses a qualcomm snapdragon which is based on the cortex A8 vs the A9 in the exynos and as such is slower clock for clock, so the 1.2ghz exynos is faster and has a better CPU.
I would go for the i9100, it supports GSM (2g) 850/900/1800/1900 and 3G 850/900/1900/2100 so make sure it will work on your network.

PS, I was bored so I checked the networks in Jordan, and as far as I can tell, they use 900 and 1800 so at least it will work on edge/2g and should work on 3g (old thread where someone said they are using a at&t iPhone 3g there on 3g fine, and the i9100 covers the same 3g bands) but I can't find any hard info so I can't be 100% sure.

I recommend buying the International i9100 BUT make sure it isn't the i9100G. It's far worse than the original i9100. Aside from that the AT&T SGS2 looks good too

[Q] HOX+ & US T-mobile

Hi everybody,
The previous HOX was not supporting the 3G data on t-mobile due to lack of HSDPA 1700 as far as I realized. It seems that the same problem remains with the new HOX+ too since it cannot support HSDPA 1700.
Does anybody know something about it?
Thanks in advance

You should check the spec sheet at htc.com
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
Here's a complete list of AWS carriers worldwide. You can count them on your fingers. If you were a manufacturer, would you go out of your way to include the AWS bands on your unlocked global phones?
Canada
Wind Mobile
Mobilicity
Videotron
United States
T-Mobile USA
Big River Broadband
Cincinnati Bell
Mosaic Telecom
Cricket Wireless
Chile
VTR
Nextel

airportal.de (site works on laptops but not good on phones at least for me)
I think when T-mobile refarms the area you live in this might give you 3g for unlocked ATT phones and international versions also.

I hope it goes as you said in our region. I've seen an AT&T version of HOX+ which will support more Network frequencies as well as LTE. Would it really matter in my case? Should I go with the unlocked AT&T version or an international version?
I'm waiting until the dust settles on the refarming and on the next batch of nexus phones. Then the selections and used prices should really improve.

Now there is also a Telus HTC One X+.
Does anyone know if it will work on Wind Mobile in Canada?

[q] pentaband?

im going in a backpacking trip to Europe and was hoping to clarify a few things with this phone. I have a note 2 and im thinking of switching to the htc if its a true pentaband phone. ive searched and saw that people have stated that the tmobile htc one is a pentaband phone but when looking up the tech specs I saw that its missing the HSPA 900 MHz (band 8) which is required for certain parts of Europe, more specifically france. I was just asking and trying to clear up some confusion to see if the htc one is really a true pentaband phone (such as the nexus 4) and will it work in france with 3g/4glte speeds. thanks

The T-Mobile HTC One is NOT a pentaband phone. Some are making assumptions and/or not reading closely. You're correct, it is missing band 8.

[Q] LTE band 3 (1800 mhz)

Hi there- I've moved to a country where the LTE is on band 3, or 1800 mhz. I know that with some phones, firmware updates/flashes enable frequencies not previously available. Is there such a thing for the AT&T HTC One? I thought there might be, given some editions of the One support 1800, so I thought maybe it was a dumb artificial limitation imposed by AT&T.
This country also has a "TD-LTE" freq of 2300, but I'm afraid I'm not sure what that is.
Thanks in advance for any help!
