I have an DROID RAZR XT910 GSM/CDMA with the following stock ICS: 673.94.328.XT910.Optus.en.AU, Version 4.0.4, Build 6.7.3-94_SPI-328 and while looking at all the mods and roms out there I'm not confident in flashing this device because the version numbers are different and I don't wanna brick my phone (at close to AUD$800 I think you can understand why) so need help with getting JB onto it (impatient here in OZ, last round from GB to ICS took 6 months from advertised to actually going OTA here). Phone is rooted, have Titanium Backup and SuperSU installed but:
1: don't know how to back up the whole stock in case of failure and need to reinstall
2: not sure that any ROMs are safe to use in my phone (differing stock numbers etc)
3: what other software needed to make this happen
Can anyone please help!?! (where's that old interrobang when you need it)

The reason I asked this is because my device now has the leaked ics installed from this topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737875.
Also I have these things installed on my RAZR.
1.Motomizer
2.Bootmenu Manager
3.Titanium Backup
4.Script Manager
The question is will I screw up my device if I decided to flash this retail version http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1747800? Do I need to uninstall some of the programs? What steps should I make to ensure that when I flash the new rom I will not have any problems.
Also I am planning to install the deodexed rom provided by this link or topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1750702.
Correct me if I'm wrong but from the links quoted - Why do You want to update from 672.180.33 to 672.180.33 ?
Its the same version bur you can flash
Cheers

Hello,
Not sure if this is the correct place to post this queation...
i have updated to 4.0.4 and not really liking the black & blue and the way some of the programs come out... I know you can't downgrade back to 2.3.6 GB but wondered if there was a GB ROM that i could flash on my phone...
Hope someone can help...
Thank you

So I asked a question like three days ago and I think I wasn't very clear
I have a Mexican SG3 and I want to try one of the European Jelly Bean Roms that have been out for weeks but I haven't really understood how does the builds and basebands work on this phone, I used to have an epic 4g touch from Sprint and I was used to only have one kind of baseband because it's an us phone only, but with this one I don't know what all the XX(insert random letters here) builds mean cause my phone has a build number of UBBLG2 and I'm afraid that if I install one of the jelly bean roms my data service will be lost...could someone please tell me how does this work

since its the international s3, you have no problem.
If you lose your service flash a compatible modem/radio from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1740061

There is only one modem for JB, much more simple than allthe ics stuff. In the pointed thread download XXDLID baseband if you don't already have it.

Don't worry, just flash the jb rom. If you encounter andyproblem, then you should flash another modem.

my opinion is to try 4.2.2 ROMS like AOKP and CM 10.1 cuz these work well on ICS roms and moreover the service center is **** in india if something really goes wrong then u wouldn't want to get stuck with those guys believe me those guys don't even know the diff b/w Factory cable and data cable so better wait for official OTA and then think abt it ....why try for 4.1.2 when u have 4.2.2 well that's just my opinion

You are right there is no such good service provided in India. Also there is no hope for jb upgrade as Motorola clearly declared there will b no JB update in India. We have to stick to ics only. The custom roms like aokp can not b installed on stock slot.

Razr Maxx sales have stopped in India since last 1 month, they might be releasing the Razr Maxx HD with JB 4.1 soon , so dont expect any JB update.
You can go for the EU or China - These match Indian radio & baseband, To flash any of the other custom ROM on JB base you will need to flash a JB. I am using the US Verizon JB leak with Jellywiz RL7 and D-Wiz JBX with Zero problems.
link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2078021&highlight=razrguy
Make sure you read the OP's instructions carefully before u try flashing.

I just checked Motorola's global update schedule and it is telling me that my XT910 (from South Africa) will remain on 4.0.4! I think this is ridiculous. What are my choices? Perhaps wait for an official firmware and not the leaked official, and then just flash anyways? I'm currently using 673.94.328.XT910.MERetail.en.06.
Wait for rooting and official. Stock ROM is not OK!

Flash any European JB if you wanna use English or another Eu language. Cheers
Sent from my XT910 using xda premium
I was thinking that same thing. I only need English. But my plan is to wait it out a bit - especially until root is possible.
So until JB is rolled out more extensively, I guess I'll have to just hang on until a "tested, safe" official firmware is available for me. I trust it wont be an issue to use another regions' firmware? I will probably have to check in around that time then top find out more.

It won't be an issue. I'm also from SA. Flashed to EU without issue and upgraded to JB.
No issues buddy! I had 672.180.41.XT910.NonEFIGSRetail.en.EU with ICS 4.0.4. Motorola denied to update it to JB . So first I tried CM 10.1, everything was working great except no car home app in 4.2.2, so tried to install the official 4.1.2 by Moto. And now I am successfully running both CM 10.1 and 982.124.14.XT910.Retail.en.EU with root access! .. Really loving the update, no issues till now
