AW: Wi-Fi connection problem
Try in cwm advanced -> Fix Permissions and Wipe Dalvik-Cache.Try cleaning the RAM too. If it still doesn't work do a backup with titanium backup and then a wipe data. If it still doesn't work, flash the newest firmware (and reflash the custom rom).

Galaxy don't see wi-fi (radio problem?)

Hello guys.
I would like to describe you my problem. Well, initially i used kh3 stock rom, then i rooted it and installed CWM. Next i uploaded KG5 radio to my smartphone via CWM because i wanted to launch insanity rom from this forum (required kg5 radio). Then the problems started. My stock rom can't see my laptop Wi-fi (created by Connectify). Even if it sees, it can't get IP adress... But everything is okay on CM7 rom. Help me, i think it's because of uploading radio, anyway i'm waiting for your suggestions. I don't know what to do.
Flash KG5 modem/radio via Odin as phone .

Thanks for the hint, i did it and sgs still don't see my wi-fi.
Any ideas?

If it sees other Wifi then its your WiFi.
Try deleting all existing WiFi points and reboot .
may help .

I don't think it's my wi-fi problem. My Samsung Wave is connecting well and when i'm trying to connect via CyanogenMod7 NIGHTLY #39 (sgs2) everything is fine. That issue happens on stock softs...
@edit:
Okay. Problem solved. I installed Wi-fi Manager Premium and when tried to connect my wi-fi i get Error 82. More about this issue is here:

Anyway thanks jje.

[Q] XWKK2 wifi dropping connections

(PROBLEM SOLVED)
It seems the cause was that Eset security blocked connections after the reflash(es). When i installed eset again after the last flash everything was fine, phew
After updating 2.3.5 with kies this morning to XWKK2, i keep losing my wifi connection at home.
When turning airplane mode on and off it works for a short while and than it`s gone again. Am on stock and not rooted atm.
Does anybody know how to fix this, maybe reflash the whole rom?
Thanks in advance
Update:
Just reflashed the rom and did a full wipe, but now i have no wifi connection at all. It is conected to wifi but no datatranmission/downloading possible!

Ok, flashing the whole ROM again and a full wipe ... that should have helped.
Although flashing the stock kernel again should have helped too, as the wifi connectivity is kernel based.
I recommend to flash the stock kernel to your phone.
You can download it from Intratech's Official Firmware thread => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
If that does not help, reboot into recovery mode (Volume UP + Home + Power, press the keys until the recovery menu appears), wipe cache partition and reboot.
If that does not help either, just do another factory reset in recovery mode.
If that does not help, try to flash latest ROM version, i.e. XWKK5.
Hope that something will help.
Good luck !

[Q] Data connection not working after flashing custom rom :'(

I'm having a problem since I flashed the sensation rom (by crysis21) on my SGS2 yesterday.
My internet connection (mobile network) doesn't work anymore
I checked the APN settings and already resetted them and enterd my APN settings again. But it still doesn't work. I also restarted the phone multiple times.
Does anybody know where the problem is?
Installation steps were:
*copying the rom to sd
*CF-rooting the kernel via Odin
*booted up in CWM recovery and chose "install from zip file" and installed the rom (without any wipes)
Before I had the default samsung factory rom on it.
Have I made a mistake?

Have you checked the APN settings are the good ones? One thing is to have ones enabled and other totally different is to have ones that actually work.
Also when you go from Stock to Custom ROM you should do a full wipe!
Go to CWM and format /system, /data, /cache and reinstall the ROM.

thanks, I'll check this out as soon as I get home.
I refrain a little from doing a full wipe because I don't want to get all my apps deleted (and I'm a little too lazy to perform a backup). Would mybe a new modem solve this problem?
And of course I checked the APN settings. I deleted the existant APN setting and added a new one so the settings can't be the problem.
I also checked some entries in Settings/Phone Info/Status.
It says here (translated from german):
Mobile Network Type: HSDPA
Service State: Function (or working rather)
Mobile Network Status: Disconnected (but sometimes it says also connecting here, though it never really gets conencted)

lunatikk
Even though I wiped everything, the data connection still doesn't work.
I did
"Wipe data/factory reset"
"Wipe cache partition"
"Wipe Dalvik cache"
and after that I installed the Sensation rom zip file again.
The data connection still doesn't work :'( (I added the APN after install, of course - the settings are 100% correct).
I also installed another rom (infected rom) but there's still no data connection.
Am I missing something? I'm getting really desperate over here.
regards
lunatikk
You could try flashing another Stock ROM via Odin and see if in stock works or not, then try a Custom ROM.
Sometimes the phone takes a while once you flash a new ROM till it establishes a decent 3G connection. Having "Data enabled", how much did you wait for the phone to establish a connection?

I thought so too... Well, at work I waited some hours for the data connection being established but nothing happened.
This is crazy. I even restored my system with CWM and it still ain't working.
As soon as my GF comes home I'll replace the sim cards. Maybe the problems at the providers side...
after that, I'll try a stock rom (via odin).
thanks for your tip
lunatikk
I have the same problem and I'm on check rom.
i'm having the exact same problem, but with multiple roms and not just one. i tried omega and delv. both of these are giving me no data connection (only at the beginning) but once i restart there's no data connection.
did you manage to figure out what went wrong? I've resulted in my original rom that i had by restoring it using cwm.
dear sir,
my device is micromax canvas a1 aq4501. when I recovering a custom rom like cm13 my device Internet data not connected. I fully checked setting like mobile data, apn, but it still not working.
now I want my device situable custom rom. please give me the right information.

[Q] Samsung Vibrant: flashed ics, but problems

I flashed the ICS Euphoria ROM for Samsung Vibrant, but now I cannot connect to wifi and my phone doesn't pick up my network (neither does it search for it). I have not flashed the kernel yet because I do not know what I need to wipe in CWM Recovery before installing it.
So how do I flash the kernel, and how do I get my wifi and mobile network working again?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
EDIT: i flashed the kernel after wiping dalvik cache, but its still not picking up my network or wifi
EDIT2: WIFI works now (I was dumb) but still no carrier signal. It just says No Service. Please help.
EDIT3: turned out it was the ICS Euphoria ROM that was at fault; i have Passion now and it works fine.
RESOLVED BY MYSELF. THANKS FOR THE HELP

[Q] Xperia Mini Pro ICS FW.587 Wifi Problem

Hi to all master here.
Sorry if my question had been asked before, but i really can't find any solution for that.
Phone: Xperia Mini Pro
FW: Stock ICS 4.0.4 (.587) with stock kernel
Problem: When connect to router secured with WPA/WPA2, my phone non-stop looping between 'authenticating -> saved -> authenticating -> repeat..." and can't obtained IP address. While WEP is OK with my current SMC router, but failed with D-Link. No problem for open wifi. So if i go to those coffee shop with free WIFI, i have to try my luck because most of them are secured by password. So far all failed with WPA/WPA2 security.
I never encounter such problem on previous GB 2.3.4 FW, all until i update to ICS 4.0.4.
I read alot of similar problem for Xperia Mini Pro user, seems like no countermeasure for that.
Effort to countermeasure this problem:
1. Factory reset.
2. Repair FW using PC companion.
3. Downgrade to GB 2.3.4 and update to ICS 4.0.4 again.
4. Fresh ICS 4.0.4 install (Flashtool, wipe data).
5. Flash Lupus kernel.
All the countermeasure above can't solve my problem. Do you guys have any idea? Flash custom ROM?
Thanks in advance.

Anyway, is this wifi modules same as modules in stock ICS 4.0.4? What's the purpose of this flashing if there are same?
I would like to know the purpose and reason for this flash.
Thanks in advance.

Some of the kernels do not have the wifi modules included in the ramdisk and hence you have to flash the wifi modules manually, although flashing a stock rom should take care of everything. Still, no harm in trying. Also, whenever you change from gb to ics always wipe the data. These are ics 4.0.4 modules.

Hmm, as i mentioned previously, i tried update to ICS from GB without wipe data, with wipe data also no luck. I believe the kernel already built in the wifi modules, else i won't able to connect at all. The main problem is can't connect if the security (be it WEP, WPA/WPA2) is enabled in router, no problem is security disable.
Anyway, i will try later.

What channel does your wireless router use? Try using a lower channel, flash the modules and try resetting your router to default settings.

Ok, bro, let's make things clear.
Now this problem is happen after i using ICS, GB no problem at all. Downgrade to GB i can use wifi even lock with WEP, WPA or whatever security. So it should be ROM/OS problem rather than router.
I can configure my router to work with my phone, but the main problem is we can't control/configure those public router setting @ public place, or others WIfi router, let say @ ur friends house, do we? So the root cause is phone itself, that's why i'm asking question here. But seems many forumers will ask us to configure the router rather than solve the problem in phone.
I hope u get what i mean.
Anyway, tried the wifi modules in stock kernel, still same, and Lupus kernel already have built in wifi modules.
Thanks.

Check this - http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/54307
The problem seems to be in the router according to the above link. I suggest you to download a fresh ftf file from here - http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/35239?tstart=0
I can confirm that the wifi works in the ftf of the above link. Try updating your router firmware. This may also be a baseband problem. Try this baseband if your problem is not solved - http://uploaded.net/folder/um2ivw

Tonight i just come back from 2 cafe, both of them using WPA security, failed to connect to them at all, all same problem, authenticating then can't find IP address and non stop looping. So if the root cause is the router, means the router in whole world also got problem, i don think so.
Regarding the ftf file u suggested, i did download from there yesterday i do a clean install by flashtool (wipe data), can't solve also.
Sometimes i'm curious. As I said GB rom no problem, problem only arise on ICS ROM, why ppl still saying is router problem? The sonymobile link is just useless, as their 'official' statement of course will not blame is their own problem. My gf with the same phone with me with GB rom can connect to all routers that with security enabled, so how to explain is router problem rather than ROM itself??
Today just tried downgrade to GB, then update to ICS 4.0.4 with exclude baseband, still the problem remained. Seems like really can't solve anymore. Stock ICS 4.0.4 baseband is ver.77, now i'm using GB stock 2.3.4 baseband ver.56. Flashed to 70, 42 also same.
If you are using LuPuS stock kernel then you need to flash the wifi modules.
Mesa and Panic did not reqiure it. Mesa has modules integrated into ramdisk while panic uses stock modules.
Krsh Kernel also requires wifi modules for wifi to eork properly.
