I think I have the same problem as you! My phone suddenly started to continually reset itself every 5 seconds. I can bring up the bootloader screen by holding down the volume keys but I never get a chance to do anything from there before the phone resets itself! Really frustrating.
Did you figure anything out?
No I have not found a fix yet

Have you tried a manual reboot? Hold power + volume down till the prime reboots.
Are you sure it's even powered on? heh j/k, had to say it.
If it's unresponsive and manual rebooting doesn't work, there's always waiting for battery to die. In my experience, Android seems to reboot itself after a while when there are freezing issues...
When I hold the power down it will vibrate every 10 seconds as if im cold booting it, and if I don't hold it down and wait for it to boot I can essentially unlock it and shut it down since I know where on the screen to press for shutdown. I know its shutting down cause after i press on the screen where shutdown button is, a few seconds later itll vibrate. So I'm pretty sure its the screen.
I remember reading somewhere here you can factory reset by holding down volume down then power button. And wait a few seconds realease them then either I leave it alone or press up or down volume and it will factory reset. I just don't remember the sequence. Anyone else remember? I think maybe juniriders recommendation will work.

Once it does cut back on, uninstall Google chrome browser immediately if you have it. Others that had same issue also just recently installed that app. They uninstalled it and device behaves normal again. Worth a shot if you do in fact have it installed.
Thanks for the input guys. Ill try the power + volume to factory reset. If its still wont come back on I assume its a screen issue.

Are You trying the reset button?
I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner. HDMI TO TV! So I was right that it is the screen issue cause I can see everything on the TV. Gonna back it up, factory reset and see if I can get it exchanged.

Hey everyone. Thanks for taking the time to read my thread.
So randomly yesterday my phone just turned blank and it started vibrating every 1 minute almost like its trying to boot up but the screen stays black. Its been on the charger and I am not getting any lights to pop up. I tried the 20second 30second and various other seconds of holding the power button but to no avail. I was wondering if anyone has any other solutions to this problem.
No insurance and the screen is cracked so they will not attempt a repair. They wont even touch the phone.
Im S-OFf with the old hboot and running CM10 from Kushdeck
The computer does not see the device either.
Thank you for your time.
I would reflash the ROM, and when you do be sure to clear Google Wallet settings, it sounds to me like you have a bad flash. What ROM are you using? I would go away from cm10 were I you, that ROM requires a different radio, that ROM is touchy, try a sense 4.0 Mean Rom for example, that will do it.

I understand u tried to hold the power button, did the capacity buttons on the bottom flash? I would try to hold down the power and the vol down button for thirty seconds... That way it does not try to boot to system, instead hopefully it will boot to ur bootloader...

Hi Cables. Thanks for replying.
I have tried the technique you have explained and I am getting nothing.
You could let the battery die, place it on the charger and wait about 5 minutes (led should be blinking when you first plug it in) then try to boot into boot loader
Ummm all I can say is try to Google htc evo 4G lte hard brick... I found this link but I believe u would need a Linux computer... If u don't have one then hopefully u can find one with windows comp... Good luck bro

Whats the next step if when i let it die and then plug it in and the light does not turn on?
Nothing, if the phone becomes completely unresponsive then you have a brick. Sorry
Just something else to try, but pullout your sdcard and try the power button on volume down for as long as you can hold them. If you sdcard is corrupted it could prevent you from booting.

Bump... anyone get this issue fixed? I have an evolte that did the same thing. I had my phone give me a black screen. It would still sound for incoming calls and the buttons would light up, but no screen.
I've seen this before. Replacing the screen all together usually fixes the issue. Though it isn't 100%

My phone did the same thing today. I can't figure out if it's a software problem or a hardware problem. Anyone else know what could be causing it to randomly do a short vibrate about every minute and the screen will not turn on.
anyone find a solution for this i have the same problem but my screen is grey, ive tried restarting it like a million times it turns of but as soon as it turns back on it goes to grey screen
power button is stuck
just helped someone with the same symptoms on SG3
Has anyone found a fix for this...? My phone just started doing this very thing, I was playing SNESDroid and the last couple of the days the screen starting wiggin out, a couple of times it just froze and i had to do a hard reboot, this last time yesturday it froze I did a hard reset and it would not turn back on and all my symptoms are the same as the original poster. Only thing I havn't tried is letting the battery die, I just don't know when I would know that it's dead? Anyway any help would be appreciated!
My Galaxy S3 was bought 14/06.
Today when i wake up, it was the LED blinking, i pressed the power button to try unlock and read the notifications, and all buttons to unlock dont turned screen on.
then, i tried press power button to turn off and turn on, dont worked.
then, i tried remove the battery and insert and turn on and nothing...
tried home + power + volume up and nothing...

Leave the phone plugged in for about 8 hours, even though the light doesn't come on. Then try turning it on again.

His problem could be different, it causes the phone to enter deep sleep. Unbricker will not help there. It happened to quite a few people.

I had the same problem because I tried to downgrade my radio (I learned from my mistakes XD) however I sent the phone to HTC and said that I had the phone since long ago but without using it, I also said the I upgraded it over the night and when I woke up the phone was dead. They fixed it and sent it back in a nice cute box XD.

how long does it took to send and mail back to you:cyclops:
It have the HTC warranty not sprint but HTC have to offer warranty to every device they sell but only on the software part. It depends because i live in NY it took like one week to get to Texas and one week to get here again but I know that they fixed it in one day because I called.

Hi everyone well first of all thanks 4 your time..
Yesterday I woke up and when I took my phone and pressed the power button to unlock it, I got such a terrible surprise.. The screen had some weird lines and signs and stuff, I couldnt get it to work.. so I opened the phone but couldnt do anything except for cleaning a bit... once I reassembled it, it got to work but after a while the phone froze and still had the same issue.. I will upload some pics so you can have an idea of what im talking about.. if you know what the problem could be, i would be glad to hear it.. Thanks a lot... :good:
Check your phone !!
If it boot in bootloader or not ??
1) remove battery
2) press power button + volume down
If your phone boots in bootloader after following above steps and if you can see the options correctly in it and no more lines in it than it mean that your screen and hardware is ok.
You have software problem..
Check it out and post it hear..

Sorry to say this but is your digitizer broken? If you didn't do this on your own you can send it to HTC if it's still under warranty.
But first try removing the battery one more time and first hold volume down then hold power, try it again with more force.

NO its not broken, I think its not a hardware issue.. I have no idea about what happened, i just applied some pressure to the screen and it suddenly got fixed.. but there are some small lines that just suddenly appear on the screen.. everything is working perfect but just for a small period of time.. after moving the phone it suddenly freezes and the problem starts again... thanks...

If it's a software issue then run a RUU and see if it helps. The RUU will fix every software problem because it gets it on 100 percent stock. If it can't it has to be a hardware issue.

Hmm..
Try to run it on bootloader.
See what's happen.
According to your reply I don't think so it is software issue.
Bcoz you pressed the screen and after that it comes to work so...
And according to my knowledge ,
There is a chip available in front upper side of display ( inside )
It is broken or get damaged.
And it is causing this problem.

Yes now I know its a hardware issue.. but dont really know which chip your talking about.. maybe if you could help me with some pictures or with some id I might try to look for it and see if that is really the issue.. Thanks.. :good:
If your issue is that that than anyone can't help you Bcoz you have to replace it.
And you should contact HTC or mobile repairer....
Bcoz it contains soldering
...etc...etc...
