Hi, I currently have problems getting my WiFi to work. Every ICS ROM/Kernal I've tried (includes KingCobra, mwakious,Coolexe, Viper3D) my WiFi has been dysfunctional. It would be grayed out saying "Turning on..." or "ON" and the toggle won't work at all. I have tried WiFix as well. It worked once for me and WiFi problems start happening again over night. Does anyone have a solution to my WiFi problem?

I don't know about any of the roms u listed off the top of my head, but a lot of roms need the latest RADIO to work as intended, which I believe is:
11.25.3504.06_M.
i have the same problem. im s-off, rooted. tried updating the radio, adb pushing boot.img, flashing stock rom, clean wipe and flashing custom rom, gui kernel flash... nothing worked to fix my wifi problem.
is my wifi really dead? do i have to send it to HTC for repairs?
any help is welcome.

Run a RUU... that way u eliminate software as a factor if it still doesn't work, it's hardware

I believe RUU are ROM's that come with the original phone itself. Theres a thread with all of them here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1208485

And thanks for the suggestion, I haven't tried that yet :cyclops: I'll keep an update on how it went
oh. i did try that, but bumped into an error using the ruu.exe.
i'll give it a shot again.
Does anyone happen to have the Rogers ICS RUU in a different link? The one on the thread always has "connection time out" halfway through the download

Did you do fastboot oem lock? (Do not do this with custom hboot like revolutionary or jopunutbear or you will have a very expensive paperweight)

My guess would be that the actual WiFi antenna died for some reason... I would try to flash a RUU just to be sure, but likely a hardware problem so you will likely be sending it for repair which is a problem in and of itself as htcdev unlock doesn't work with phones with a replaced motherboard. Bottom line, try the RUU it might work

Been having the same issue for awhile too. Running PredatorUnity Rom. Used flashgui image to flash the ANA v7 kernel and after it rebooted the WiFi was working no problems at all. Then after about 30min it stopped. What started happening was it would say that it was on but would not show any WiFi hotspots only the previously connected showing it out of range. Then completely stopped giving me the grayed out turning on error. Really weird stuff. Been trying to get it working again since Sunday

Have you tried removing your SIM card? I tried that before and it actually ended up working. My thought was it was the WiFi Reigional problem, however, after trying out the WiFix it did the trick but after that I still ended up where I started. Now that method no longer works for me. Maybe it might for you?

I just flashed my original Rogers RUU.. WiFi worked only for a bit, then it froze and crashed. Now I am stuck with a Locked Unrooted bootloader and the same grayed out wifi button. I have no more ideas left to try:crying:
EDIT: I actually got WiFi to work! after flashing the RUU rom using the P86IMG technique, I ran the RUU.exe and everything went well. Now my WiFi is fully functional. I'll let you know how it goes when I leave it over night. I might have solved the problem

Europe would be preferable, you would prolly fail the CID check on the Rodgers one
RUU_SHOOTER_U_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_3.28.401.1_Radio_11.77.3504.00U_11.25.3504.06_M_release_262714_signed.exe
just to make sure, this is the one i plan on downloading and running.
Ok so, I started by unlocking the bootloader, and using the All in one toolkit to flash a recovery. From there I flashed a Pure GSM Sense rom and now its stuck on the 4g lte screen! What should I do now?!
Thanks and any help is appreciated!!
Ok so I tried flashing it again and its says succesfull but gets stuck at the "HTC quietly brilliant" white screen. I'm thinking i should go back to stock, any help!!?
Thanks
You need to flash the boot.img separately if you are still s-on. Plenty of threads will tell you how.

I got it finally i flashed the Global Ruu and now I get At&t signal with flawless calls and tetxs. However, do you know how to fix the annoying "This sim card is from an unknown source"? Thanks
I rooted my phone but didn't like the roms out right now and chose to go back to stock... but now I have no 4g... I relocked the bootloader via tool kit and then ran the ruu.exe... did I miss a step... I didn't revert back my cid back to vzw-001 is that the issue?
I would say not reverting the CID could have something to do with the 4G not working. As soon as I rooted mine, I immediately reverted back from super CID, I'm not sure why you haven't already done that.
I'm also not sure why you would re-lock the bootloader. Correct me please if I am wrong, but you can operate the stock ROM when rooted. That's what I did for a while after I rooted mine to make sure everything was still working before I flashed CM10.1. And an unlocked bootloader will be useful should an improved ROM come out that you do want to use. I have to say I really like the Cyanogen; no nagging wifi and lack of spyware are totally worth it.

As biodiesel.ufo mentioned, leave your bootloader unlocked. The CID could very well be the culprit. If it does not restore radio completely, then follow the instructions in Post 2 of the CyanogenMod thread.

It is the SIM card. Same thing happened to me. CyanogenMod messed mine up. It screwed up my PRL and I only got 3G. Contact Verizon Tech Support and have your phone on STOCK ROM. They will walk you through on updating your PRL. That's what they did for me.

yea forgot to mention that looking for it now.
so, to recap, re-lock bootloader, flash stock recovery then run this file and that should put me back to 100% bone stock on T-mo 4.3, sound about right?

You do NOT need stock recovery to flash an RUU s-off.
With S-OFF you don't need to do anything. Plug your phone in and run the RUU. I just did this yesterday. All I had to do is flash TWRP and I'm right back to rooted.

can this be flashed on a AT&T HTC One, just left them and love the phone. BL is unlocked, have flashed the T-Mobile radio, but my phone continuously drops to EDGE, then back to LTE and 4G, I thought the baseband puts the frequencies needed for optimal T-Mobile network compatibility, namely the WCDMA 1700....im in NYC and i know they updated the towers here so 4G works on GSM1900, but having that WCDMA 1700 would be best. I guess there are other things T-mobile does to tweak the network i guess on the build.prop or whatever? not sure? any ways, any inout would be greatl appreciated,
just so anyone is confused. this was super easy to do to completely restore to a factory phone.
I was on TWRP w/ ARHD 22 ROM, unlocked bootloaded thru htcdev, S-On. here is all i had to do to flash this (super simple)
fire up fastboot on phone
verify fastboot via cmd (fastboot devices)
enter fastboot oem lock
phone reboots and i now have **Tampered** **Relocked** on bootloader
leave phone in fastboot and run the RUU file and 10 min later
factory phone
thanks all for posting this, I'll be re-rooting and flashing custom recovery soon but so nice to have wifi calling back.
I keep getting an Error 155. I've googled around and I can't seem to find anything that works. At my wits end here. Anyone?
I used this today and having trouble unlocking the boot loader. Do I need to get a new code?

Yes but you need s-off and change your cid and mid to match a tmo phone

Hi, I converted my phone to GPE. I tried to run this RUU with no luck I always get error 155. It is unlocked and S-OFF. I tried the tmobile cid, super cid, t mobile stock recovery, relock the bootloader. What should I do can some one explain step by step?
I got a question about the ruu. I have a Att phone I'm selling to a T-Mobile guy could I make the phone officially a T-Mobile device by using this ruu??

maybe me problem could be solved another way; what ever I did it caused my phone to continually ask for the sim unlock (somehow it got locked). Once I enter the original unlock, its accepted and the phone reboots. Once it starts it asks for a sim unlock again :crying: I can use it as a wifi device but becomes useless once the sim is put in.
What gives?
