I have a LG Optimus i9 that I was using. So yesterday, I had Pandora app open and using the browswer at the same time. All of a sudden, the phone froze fand not knowing what to do, after a minute I tried to shut it off. After a few seconds, the phone did shut off (no idea by itself or by me) and the back of the phone was really warm. After that, I tried to open my phone again but it won't open now.
I tried taking the 32gb memory out, nothing.
I tried recharging it and open again, nothing
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Additional Info
The battery was about half full when this happened.
The internal storage was pretty full. Out of the 1.8 gb, I filled up about 1.5 gb.

Does it light up or any response when you power on?
Try to see if you get anything :
-With the phone off, pull battery, reinsert battery and hold vol down while pressing power. ?
-With the phone off, pull battery, reinsert battery and hold vol up while pressing power. ?
No response whatsoever while holding power button, still power off.
Holding volume and power at the same time after reinserting battery also did nothing . any other ideas?
after leaving it alone for 30 min, the back of the phone is really warm again like as if it is running
You could try hard/factory reset ,the phone off, pull battery, reinsert battery and hold vol down + home while pressing power.

I'm running Neutrino ROM v2.6 and every once in a while RANDOMLY I will pull my phone out to use it and it will be black screened. It's as if it's turned off but I can't even turn it back on. The power button does nothing, even after holding it down for 30 seconds. I can't do anything. No matter which button I press and which way I push the power.
The only fix is to pull my phone out of its case, remove it's back cover, take out the battery, reinsert it; then it will power on and act normal again. I can't replicate the issue. It's just very random. Happening like 2-3 times a day right now. Would a different ROM/Kernel fix this?
It happened to me before...i just switched a device at the store to a new atrix 4g.
I heard that switching the sim card ~might~ help but chances are low because this is not just a reboot. sorry for you.
Hello everyone,
I got a question. Yesterday, my phone shutdown do to no more battery. Once I got home (about 1h30 after), I plug-it into my computer for a good slow charge. I noticed the led was blinking red instead of staying on, but I though it was due to critical low battery. After 3 hours, still the same. I try to open it but nothing happened. Then, I noticed that when I touch the screen or button, the phone vibrate.
I then unplug and try again, same thing. I try plug into the wall charger, samething.
Then I proceed to hold the power button for 5 seconds. All three touch button start flashing and stayed on, but no joy, still vibrate when touching anything with screen turn off (not just no backlight, no image at all).
I manage to found out that holding the button nearly 10 seconds, it force a reboot and then was OK and charged at 70%.
I'm wondering what's the deal here. Is it a problem with the stock rooted rom?
Thanks

it's because of TWRP
Ok. What must I do when phone get out of battery then? Yesterday, I tried for 30 minutes before it started

Here's my story: Was Running Hyperdrive RLS 19 and attempted to upgrade to RLS 20. I was running CWM 1.0.3.5 as my bootloader and had switched to a high capacity SD card that couldn't do FAT32, so it couldn't mount. Moved update.zip to internal storage and everything appeared to install just find in Aroma. After the initial installation it goes to the first flash screen (which says Samsung Custom and a picture of a padlock) and then the screen goes blank. I took out the battery after waiting 15-20 minutes after the screen went blank the first time.
Here's where I'm at: After I insert the battery, the flash screen comes up and goes dark immediately. I've tried holding Home+VolUp+Power which gets me some blue text above the flash screen, but still goes blank. One time I was able to make it to the actual OS, but it went blank and shut off shortly after. I was thinking it was a battery issue, but the battery read 67% or thereabouts before everything went dark. Additionally, the charging light isn't working when the phone is hooked up the the charger. I assume it's not charging, but I have no way to test that.
Here are the things I've tried:
booting with/without SD & SIM cards
Replacing battery with new one
Letting it sit all night
Inserting battery while holding Home+VolUp+Power
Inserting battery while holding VolDown - This gets me to a new screen, but shuts off after a couple secs
All of these yield the same thing. Any thoughts or help would be much appreciated. I'm pretty certain that I'm going to need to bite the bullet and get a new phone soon.
TLDR - Phone is going blank after 1-2 secs after botched rom flash. Tried a bunch of stuff. Am I SOL?
Can you get into "Download Mode"?
Power off the phone completely by removing its battery for 5 seconds.
Re-insert the battery back into its place.
Press and hold Volume Down, Home and Power buttons, all at the same time.
Release the buttons only when the ‘Warning!!’ message appears.
Next, press Volume Up button to confirm that you wish to enter Download Mode.
Your device will now show a green Android with the ‘Downloading… Do not turn off target’ text listed under it.
That’s it, now you can connect your device with your PC after you launch ODIN.
Thanks for the reply, but the screen still blanks out. After leaving phone on the charger all night the battery is totally drained and won't even turn on. May go into a store later this week to see if they have any suggestions. Otherwise I think it's time for a new phone. Thanks again for the tip.
Im on a trip, and my battery died. When I got to the hotel, I immediately plugged in my tablet. As soon as it got to 1%, it started booting up, but because of how much battery it uses just to boot, it basically died a second or two after it booted up. Then, it repeats. As soon as it gest 1%, it starts turning on again, then when it gets to the lockscreen, it powers down. It's like a bootloop, but I can't get out of it :crying:

You try holding the pwr button for about 10 seconds or maybe longer when it's trying to boot? It might force it to just shut down.
There's a "forced Shutdown" button right by the SD card slot (it's colored yellow in my sgp561, maybe different for other sub-models). Press that button for 10+ seconds using paper clip tip or similar pointed object and it will shutdown completely.
Another possible solution is to plug the charging usb cable to a high current usb charger (4 amp+) that should be able to supply the energy demand at close to 0% battery charge.
Another option will be to boot into bootloader. Bootloader uses barely any battery. When it's not plugged in and off, press and hold power+volume down. Then plug in. You could try to do that while plugged in, but likely not to work.
Hi,
I got hold of one of these tablets that appeared dead, left it charging overnight and it started without issue, the battery was at 67% at this point.
I then shut it down and held the Home + VolUp + Power to enter download mode as I wanted to install TWRP.
Nothing happened, but not only that, the tablet failed to boot again whatsoever. I took the back off and unplugged the battery, held the power button down for 30-40 seconds, reattached battery, still nothing, so I decided to leave it on charge for a bit more and try to figure it out later.
Later came along, and I picked up the tablet and for some reason pushed the home button 3 times and it displayed the battery icon, showing 100%, great!
It still won't boot though and I haven;t been able to reproduce whatever I did to get it to show the battery icon again.
I've tried every combination of holding down Home/VolUp/VolDown and Power that I can think of for different amounts of time and still nothing.
Had it plugged into the computer too and monitored dmesg for any signs of life and still nothing.
I'm thinking (but hoping not) that it might be a physical problem with the power button, but it feels fine when pressed.
Is there some magic trick that I don't know about that could help here?
Many thanks.,
g
EDIT: I have left it plugged in for a few hours and periodically the battery icon appears for a while (now at 99%), then disappears. Tried to switch it on with the power button while the icon is on the screen but no go, same with different button combos.
