Anyone know of a compatible version of flash player for JB Rom? Running MB and noticed a few sites that I've been using for the last few months recently started displaying messges about flash player needing to be installed.

I know a lot of the browsers stopped supporting flash which sucks. Chrome and Dolphin both stopped supporting flash.
The HTC browser still has it for now. You have to select it in the menu for it to come up.

Thanks. Been so long since I used the stock browser that I forgot it was even there. Been using Boat or Dolphin exclusively.

No problem. I hear ya there. I used Dolphin all the time until they dropped flash support. I like Chrome too, but no flash either.

That's odd. I'm running Dolphin 8.8.0 and this is what I get:

Prefer Dolphin. But I don't use either because the only time I use the browser is to download ROMs. I use Faster Downloads from here.
I prefer Boat Browser actually, not once I had an issue with it. Plus It's fast & smooth.
HTC Glacier: MyTouch 4G
Permanent Root/S-OFF
Recovery: Clockwork Mod 3.0.2.4
Rom: MyTouch 4G CoreDroid v1.3
Kernel: Max OC- 184gHz (Smartass)
Maxthon browser has been treating me well lately.

Yeah same here. A ROM I used came with it and it's is very nice. But as I said before, I still prefer Faster Downloads.

I use Opera Mobile on my phone, and typically Chrome on my TF101. for what it's worth. I do not like Dolphin Mobile or Dolphin Mini.
between those two i prefer Dolphin
I like chrome beta haha
I Say Dolphin Because Those Gestures Make Browsing A Breeze ^.^

stable, yes. Fast no.
Im starting to dislike Opera. When im viewing a page and scrolling left to right, it kinda gets sluggish toward the middle, then picks back up when almost to the right. Sorta annoying to me.
Well for me i tried opera didnt like it at all, didnt think it was really user freindly (no i havnt used it lately so i wouldnt know any changes) but ever since i tried dolphin ive been hooked really easy to use options are plain n simple and the cont. upgrade their features. They also have the ability to save your bookmarks to sd just in case u wipe or otherwise, just an overall good browser!!
I prefer to use the Dolphin browser. It makes browsing a breeze. Gestures is great too on it.
Opera is better on my opinion specially when downloading roms.

I was in the play market and it said google chrome beta was not available for my device. I don't think that is true however if google chrome was on my phone would I be able to play the game Bastion?

Correct, no Flash support, and Adobe even said don't count on it happening. It's a shame, Android Chrome is great, just incomplete. Looks like it'll still be stock or Maxthon for me.
I'm using Chrome beta on Shostock2 RC6. I definitely prefer it over the regular browser. If you tap on a cluster of very small links (like the page forward/back buttons here on the forum), it brings up a zoomed popup and allows you to click the correct one.
I have chrome beta and it works fine I am on 4.0.3 ICS shostock2
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda premium
I'm not digging chrome too much yet, personally. I found it little laggy and don't like the way it zooms when double tapped. It should improve with a couple more updates.
Chrome is a little overrated. I still prefer Dolphin over chrome.

Dolphin is good. I've been primarily using Opera Mobile for the last few months.
only if you're running Android 4.0.3+ ....
I had an old Galnet miui (first rom I tried, improper flash got me a yellow triangle following a novice tut) it had android 4+.
Typically the version depends on the rom? Any advantages over stock 236? I only wondered because I wanted to try Bastion on my phone.

Works great on Task's 4.0.4 AOKP rom.
I really like the way Chrome on my phone could see the tabs I had open on my laptop. Too bad I had bluetooth issues on all the ICS ROM's I tried and am back to GB for now.

Yeah, having no issues with it either, and I'm running the same thing.
I am really enjoying Chrome on my AOKP 4/9/12 build. It installed straight from the Play Store without issues, and has performed flawlessly.

You're right. I have been using this browser for more than a year now and it's one of the best. I like it over chrome because I have never had a bug or forceclose with it and it supports Flash. Even though, I often use Dolphin, I always go back to Xscope when Dolphin starts acting up or when I had trouble with some contents.
How does it compare to Maxthon? Maxthon has been my preferred browser for some time now.

I used xscope on my blackjack and loved it. Thanks for sharing this, I'll have to check it out!
Used to use xscope on older devices, been around a long time. It's a very good wrapper around the stock browser as is dolphin and marathon, just remember they are just wrappers, you may like the added features, but they are all going to behave and perform nearly identical when it comes down to browsing because they all just wrap the stock browser.
As far as I know the browsers that have their own actual browser implementations are:
Firefox
Chrome
Opera
Skyfire
Chrome open tab sync is just too good to pass up for me...I use it literally everyday.

You "claim" that it doesn't work.

I hate flash - particularly on Windows PC's where we seem to get the flash player update of the week. Yet, I can't quite seem to do without it. Inevitably I'll hit some site where I need it and just saying that I refuse to visit sites that use it won't work for me. I wish it did.
However, with Apple never supporting it on iOS and now support for it on Android going away slowly, I sure hope it dies soon. For now though, I need it.

You can find some methods of reaquiring flash with a pinch zoom comparable version of Dolphin Browser here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846225
Thanks for the suggestions, but I am aware of dolphin and the other suggestions and they are not what I am looking for. How can we fix the JB Rom for the Prime to be like the Tf300 JB Rom so flash works in the stock browser? Not a debate on flash vs html5, just need it to work for one website for a family member who needs it for their internal work site for American Airlines. Again it is working with JB for tf300, just not on Prime with the same flash package and browser.

Not sure why Flash wouldn't be working for you in the stock JB browser. As long as I have Flash 11 installed, my stock browser is rendering flash content fine. Are you certain you have the latest version of Flash installed and that the stock browser is set to always for plugins? Noticed you were looking for a FLASH check box, but you actually need to look for the PLUG-INS setting which is located in "settings" "advanced". Also some flash content doesnt work in the "on demand" mode (for instance flow player)
You can find archived Flash versions here since you can't download from play store anymore.
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html
You can install these as long a you have "allow unknown sources" checked in the security settings on the Prime.
Coming from an Inspire I had no idea that flash wad no longer supported past 4.0, and I thought I wouldn't need it with browsers like chrome and Firefox. What are people using instead to get flash on sites that require it?

Try this thread. Download and install the apk. It will not work in all browsers because they don't support it anymore, but you can find some older versions through Google search and use those. The thread has an older version of Dolphin listed for download.

Isn't flash player built into the stock browser?

Yes, flash is already installed. You will need to go to stock browser settings and enable.
I use Maxthon browser if i need to view flash websites. Doesn't work with Dolphin though.
