New idea for root 6b - Sony Tablet S

There is a new method for rooting Xperia Z.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2186368
I've try this with no success because there is not dialer to get to "service menu" with *#*#7378423#*#*
I've tried a few apps, for example "Hidden menu" from the market, but they don't support Sony service codes.
Does someone knows a way to get to the "service menu""?

Doesnt have one? These tablets are not made by Sony mobile like the Xperia Z tablet is. Also that root method uses a special restore app. Not factory ics one... I have used that root method on Xperia S jellybean preview. But keep up the good thinking

[Q] Is the Z2 off Amazon bootloader unlockable?

Is this Z2, from Amazon. ca bootloader unlockable? Or no?
"Sony Xperia Z2 D6503 Smartphone Unlocked Import-Black"
You can check this by going into the service menu. Go to your phone's dialer, and type in *#*#7378423#*#* (otherwise interpreted as *#*#service#*#*) and navigate to "Service Info -> Configuration -> Rooting Status.
That should reveal whether or not your bootloader is unlockable with a simple 'yes' or 'no'.

I get the feeling OP is asking prior to making the purchase.

TA-Partition Restored under 6.0 Update

Hey,
So I had one tablet SGP771 that had a broken TA-Partition after unlocking bootloader and enabling My Xperia. After updating the tablet to 6.0 My Xperia asked for login etc, and it now works flawlessly without any issues to activate and deactivate. Is it now maybe a chance for all those who broke their TA-Partition to regain root status if an exploit is found in 6.0 kernel?
Also a sidequestion. I have the SGP712 version of this tablet as well, other one is my GF's after i broke it. But I have root on this, can I update to 6.0 after using AndroPlus kernel without losing root status?
Thanks in advance
The same here
You are my Hero, thank you so much.
I have unlocked the bootloader of my z4 (712) and didn't noticed that the TA and all DRM keys are getting lost on this action ("chief fast finger" strikes back again :crying: )
But then I read your posting and made an attempt. And what should I say; It seems to me that the DRM keys are back again. The Album Widget is working, TrackID works again. For me Emma made it; YMMV of course
Thanks so much:

BTW can someone tell me a way to find out a (nondestructive) way to find out if the keys are really there?

Try toggling the display enhancement options like X-Reality and see if they indeed change the display?

I have checked the service menu in the meantime and found out, that the DRM Key are gone
Service/Security shows:
Blobs: generic error!
HUK: generic error!
OTP_LOCK_STATUS : LOCKED
But I have official Android 6.0 MM now; This more than nothing

Back to Stock - Xperia Z5 Compact

Hello.
Is there any guide og advice on how to "go back to stock" ? Im currently on Xpower rom but i just want to go back to stock, however the Xperia Companion gives me error on "get phone info". I have ADB set up successfully?
Emma for unlocked bootloader - just google it. Cant post link
Thank you! Will try this. Do you know if i can re-lock the bootloader and get back to fully stock?
Emma just gives me "No available services matched the connected device"

Any way to unlock the bootloader?

I bought this phone because it looked neat and I thought Xperia phones had remote play for the ps4 but apparently this is not one of those ones for some stupid reason. I know that if you install magisk and a sony framework from a different Xperia phone youll be able to download those specific apps from the store and have them be compatible with your device. I tried unlocking the bootloader through OEM but they have no option for the code. I know the phone is new but I really want to tinker with it.

I just checked Sony's bootloader unlock site and the X10 and X10 plus are now listed.
Odd. I see what you mean. When I tried it last weekend it gave me a code and I was able to unlock. Checking the site again just now, the "Submit" button stays grayed out. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It does mention "It will only be possible to unlock the boot loader for certain releases."

Hi all, any way to relock? I want to recover auto updates but trying flashtool doesn't work. I receive this:
"WARN - Your device cannot be relocked"

Sony Xperia Z5 Compact (E5823) OPEN BOOTLOADER

Hello, I would like to unlock the bootloader in my Sony Xperia, I do it classically via ADB, when I'm already in the final step so the command line still writes "I'm waiting for the device" and does nothing. I read somewhere that it is also necessary to enable the unlocking of the bootloader, but it does not work, the button is grayed out and there is nothing to do with it. When I'm in the service menu, it says "Bootloader alowed: yes", so it should work. Does anyone know what to do with it? Thank you very much for the answer. :zmatený:
