I just loaded CM10 SDC on my tablet because CM10.1 started to get really buggy and crashed a lot. Normal procedure wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache.
I replaced the recovery.img which was 5.x.x.x with the newest version (6.0.2.9). Installed zips and when I booted it didn't find WiFi. Went into settings and WiFi wont turn on.
Trying to figure out what's wrong. I didn't delete and ROM partitions or anything. Only thing I can think is by installing the zip with the newest recovery didnt fully install the ROM. Any suggestions what to do?

Also (in case somehow a partition was erased) I have all my Serial Number, Mac Address etc etc on backup. But I am assuming it's not a problem because I didn't write over the p5 partition.
I solved the problem by using the SDC img and writing that to my SD card. WiFi works now. If anyone else has similar problems DO NOT upgrade your recovery.img before flashing. It will most likely not flash correctly.

I have tried several different Rom Managers without a problem on my G Tablet. Have been using TNT lite. Recently I switched to Vegan Gingerbread edition, but when I went to backup my old Rom (TNT Lite) the backup hangs on backing up the cache. I tried wiping the cache and formatting the cache, but it always hangs indefinitely.
I installed Vegan Gingerbread anyway and it appears to work perfectly, yet I still cannot backup the rom with Clockworkmod (always hangs on the cache). If I try to look at the cache partition in filemanager, it shows empty, though I am not sure it is actually recognized. I can't seem to do anything with the cache at all.
I am, by no means an expert, but have had no problems with this before. Backup did work before the recent problem.
Since everything is working with my G Tablet now, I am not sure there is an actual problem with the cache, except that I can't backup the Rom without it hanging on the cache. This may limit my ability to load other Roms in the future.
Please help.
I have the exact same problem. I've had no issues backing up and restoring ROMs myself, but now I'm having issues with my tablet not being able to format or restore cache. I can install a ROM, but it takes a long time to actually load up - it can sit on the first splash screen for easily 5 minutes before it boots into the ROM, wher as before it took around 1 minute or less. Are you having this slow boot problem as well, or are your problems strictly with the cache? I'm going to continue to look into it (currently looking into using nvflash to do a restore and see if that irons things out), so I'll let you know if I come across any solutions. And please, let me know if you do as well.
hey guys i had the exact same problem before but nvflash fix what ever the problem was and the newly installed cwm work as it should. are you getting "ANDROID" screen right before it goes into cwm?
I am not getting the Android screen before ClockworkMod, but I generally boot with the power/vol + combo. I also have not changed Rom's recently, so I am not sure if this would be a problem or not. I do not have any boot problems that I am aware of, nor can I see and performance problems resulting from my inability to format the cache. The only problem is I can't wipe the cache, backup the rom, or format the cache as it stops on formatting cache partition and therefore can't continue the backup process. Other than incomplete backups I am not sure what problems this actually causes. Do you know.
I haven't used NVFlash yet, but I guess I will have to give it a try. Am I simply restoring the ROM to factory state and starting over or is there some other process I am looking for? Unfortunately, I did not get a proper backup of my original factory rom, so I will have to rely on downloads. Any tips on NVFlash would be greatly appreciated.
It's Fixed! Thanks for the tips.
Here is how I did it:
Ran NVFLASH - it was much easier that expected. It fully restored the original stock Rom, but I still had trouble with clockworkmod. Mostly it would not boot into recover mode. I then re-rooted the tablet using the Update.zip method, Then everything worked fine including backup and cache format.
I continued to restore my tablet and tried the backup each step of they way.
I installed Vegan Gingerbread - Worked flawlessly
I reinstalled MyBackupsPro and all my apps and Data - Also, worked flawlessly
I reinstalled Rom Manager - also worked flawlessly.
I used Rom Manager to upgrade ClockworkMod to 2.5.1.8 - then the backup/ format cache problem reappeared.
I then ran Rom Manager again and selected flash alternate ClockworkMod. It restored version 2.5.1.1. Then the backup and format cache worked again.
It appears that my Gtab does not work properly with Clockworkmod ver 2.5.1.8 and that was the entire problem.
Since Version 2.5.1.1 works great, I see no reason to upgrade this again and consider my problem fixed. I hope this info helps others
Prior to trying to flash a custom rom onto my droid razr, I was on the verizon rom 4.1.2. I had root access and I installed BMM and got recovery working. I really liked CarbonRom from what I read and wanted to flash it and so I got the rom, the gapps 20130301 and I flashed the rom, then the gapps, and I rebooted. It gets stuck on the booting screen (the splash screen). I also tried flashing the jbx hybrid kernel (version 6 i believe) and out of curiousity tried flashing CM10.1 with the same gapps just to see.
None of it works, am I doing something wrong?? If so, what am i doing wrong??
Any help would be appreciated,
Thank you
FIXED
I got it working. If anyone is interested or has my same problem with BMM,
for some reason when you choose factory reset with BMM it doesn't clear /system. You need to go to Mounts & Format and manually format /system before the phone is actually cleared. Just clearing cache and data doens't do it.

Try it without crossbreeder, maybe it's conflicting with the mod
I was using my phone and all had been working fine for ages. It was in my pocket for a while and when i took it out to use it I saw that it was on the boot animation of CM11. My phone was already on when I last used it so I had assumed it had crashed. I took the battery out and turned the phone on again but it got stuck on the CM boot animation. The last time I turned on my phone before that was when I flashed a supersu zip file to make my root work as I was having some problems. After flashing the supersu zip and told my CWM recovery to restart the system, it prompted me to "fix root" or something like that, and I clicked yes and it booted normally. That was the last time it booted normally before being stuck as it is now. First thing I did after it got stuck was go into recovery and reflash my current rom ( a CM11 snapshot) I then got faced with a status 7 error and so couldnt flash the rom. So then I flashed multiple other CM11 roms, none of which worked, so I flashed a CM10.2 stable rom which worked. I then got faced with the fix root before reboot thing and so I clicked yes. Still had the stuck booting thingy. I tried many things, flashing kernals roms gapps etc and nothing made a difference. I wiped cache, dalvik cache and no difference. I even wiped the system and tried to flash roms but only the 10.2 one would work, still got a status 7 with the CM11 ones. When I wiped my data however and flashed CM 10.2, it booted. I still couldn't flash the CM11 roms though even after a factory reset. So I have the reason to believe something in the data is wrong, not cache system or anything like that. What could it be? I don't want to have to lose all my data in order to be able to use my phone again, even then, something is still wrong as my phone won't flash CM11 roms anymore. So my questions are;
What things could have caused this?
Can this be a problem from flashing the supersu zip (a root issue)
Is it possible to somehow view or copy the internal data on a computer (since I cant get into the operating system), and this would allow me to get all my pictures contacts music etc anything so I can use my phone by wiping data?
Thanks, sorry this is quite long and probably hard to understand whats going on, but help is appriciated thanks
Don't fix root if you wish to use SuperSU instead builded-in cm superuser. Also try to flash via Odin latest recovery. TWRP should be fine. You can mount partitions from recovery level to download data to your computer. Of course if it still exists. If not, if they are corrupted you need to flash stock ROM and repeat whole cm11 adventure again. If Odin successfully flash the stock then it's a chance your partition layout and user data are untouched.

I'm looking for some help with flashing CM 12.1 on a Nook Tablet. It was a gift from a workmate and I thought I would give it to my wife, but wanted to give her a full blown Android tablet, not a Nook device.
I have CWM recovery flashed on the device and I can boot to recovery no problem.
I had flashed CM 12.1 a few days ago with a version of GAPPS, but it was crashing routinely so I wanted to reflash with a different GAPPS version.
I think I may have done something wrong. Here's the procedure I used. In CWM I reset to factory, formatted the cache, and formatted the Dalvik cache. I also formatted the data, rom, system, and all other partitions OTHER than boot. I did not format boot as I know this would brick the device.
Now that the device was totally wiped clean, I mounted the internal USB to my computer while in CWM and brought over my CM 12.1 zip and GAPPS zip.
I then unmounted and flashed both zips without any errors. I then rebooted. During the reboot, I get a flash of white and then I'm right back to recovery. I tried flashing again and same thing. I'm not sure where to go from here. I think what I'm going to try is putting the zip files on an external SD card and flashing from there but I don't think that's going to change anything.
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!
Well, tried a couple of things last night. I tried flashing the CM 12.1 snapshot from 11-17-15 from the internal SD partition without GAPPS and got the same result. After reboot, just brings me right back to recovery after a flash of white.
Next I tried installing the 10-07-15 snapshot from an external SD without GAPPS and got the same result.
Do you think I hosed something when I formatted all partitions other than the boot partition? From everything I read about CWM, it seemed safe to do so. I know of course not to wipe the boot partition, but didn't think that wiping the other partitions could brick the device.
I'm sorry, this should be in the Q&A section. Mods, please move if possible.
Thank you!
Try the process at http://raywaldo.com/2012/06/how-to-un-brick-a-nook-tablet-8gb-or-16gb/ to unbrick and return to stock.
