SimUnlock on Xperia P - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hello,
I would like to ask if there is any simple way to simunlock Xperia P to all networks.
I want to buy this Phone, but it is lock on one carrier.
Thanks a lot.

You will have to ask your carrier, or pay for an unlock code.

The only way to do so is simple pay and unlock.....

Any recommendations for ebay vendors?
from a big blunt smoker

Ouch, that is pretty pay even for unlocking so you can use your phone freely.
Flashing new ROM or kernel, wouldnt help?

It seems there is no way to unlock the phone for free. The easiest way should be to contact your provider. Or pay to someone to unlock it for you.

Cable unlock ie with the usb cable was available until 2 months ago. SE blocked the dongles and this method is not available anymore.
Now the only way is by codes. You can contact your provider for the codes or else PM me.
On my mini I have locked counter of codes so it not posible to unlock? Maybe it's a metode to reset the counter?
There is no way to reset the counter, the only way is a direct cable unlock( which is down at the moment) , no one know when it will be back again.

Thinking of purchasing this phone

I just sold my Wildfire Buzz, which I successfully rooted.
Soo I think the ACE is logical and cheap upgrade for me.
Just wondering if I root this phone will it unlocked (from the three network)too or is that something separate?
And is their anything I should look in regards to this mobile?

Seriously, it's a very good handset, with a growing dev community. Worth to buy on my opinion.
Ah,no troubles after rooting, it will be simply more powerful!

Nothing changes on network side....
Just beware not to grant network access to any app to avoid unwanted network connections. Also use apn droid widget which will switch off any connection.

[Q] How to know if Xperia P is unbranded?

Hey I am about to buy xperia P. In my area alot of vendors have been known to sell UK carrier sony phones. Now this one is claiming to be selling 100% unbranded directly from sony phones. I just want to know how do I know if a phone is from sony or from a carrier?

Check browser.
see if there's a carrier splash screen at booting time.
Got it today. There is no carrier boot screen and cant find any bloatware. The browsers are stock android browser and chrome. It came with 4.0.4 out of the box is that normal?
Btw xperia P is an awesome phone. :good:

Did that only sony mobile and green hart bookmarks. Seems like a fully unbranded phone.
Btw there is sound clipping in most games on the phone speaker is that normal? There is no problem when listening to music.
Btw what is the deal with the boost charging till 80%? I am not seeing it. Its not that the phone is taking too long to charge but I dont see it being any faster than the xperia arc S. I am using the supplier greenhart charger?

Block Bootloader?

Hi there, I have a doubt...
I've got the Sony Xperia LWW (wt19a), with the Locked Bootloader, if I unlock it, can I reverse the operation later?
Just in case of I don't like the new rom, and I want the smartphone go back like brand new...
Thanks in advance...

You can revert back, but your bootloader wont be locked again. It wl be 'relocked'... and if you go to service center and they miss that point then u wl b lucky to claim warranty. Else, welcome back to xda

mmm ok, I'm thinking to unlock it, because I like to test roms searching the best for this model...
I just hope my phone doesn't die in the try hehe..
Thanks for the quick answer!!
So dont want to be this bad but:
in varrancy is written that it can avoid you warrancy. What does this mean? For example if you have unlocked, changed kernel and rom and broke your camera in lww warrancy still exist. But it always depends of service.
What I know? They have paid more for repaired phone that send back to you
What else can I say? I had phone, broke screen ( hardware, my fault ). I talked with guy and he toke it in my provider saloon and sent. They repaired. What this mean? I think that they are repairing whatever they will get.
But they are only my checks. So now about bootloader. It gives a lot of possibilites and I think it is worth as our phones are cheap. And trust me have my phone about year and no issue. Installed a lot of kernels, roms and tweaks but works like a charm. I can say you that it could die only in unlocking bootloader. Later depends of your reading faqs and tuts. And dont panic when will be doing this. I almost fixed when unlocking but tried again with calm and all did good.
.
If Im wrong with the thread so I think all had been explained and thread can be close. If answers satifie you please change title of your first post to solved
actually it depends on the store,
if they decide to check on the bootloader by sony's site (some imei info would be there if unlocked officially)
then they may say that the warranty is void
or if they dont check it in detail, they may repair it under warranty,

Fear of a non unlockable bootloader :( how to avoid It?

Hi guys,
I'm thinking of buying this tablet (or maybe Z2, as soon as It rolls out) but I'm afraid of getting a device with a not unlockable bootloader. I'd have a no-brand one. Is there the possibility that the bootloader is locked on my new tablet without the possibility of unlocking It? I read somewhere that carriers can request sony to unlock the bootloaders of the devices they sell (but, as I said, I'd have a no brand one).
In short, what does getting a not unlockable bootloader depend on?
Thanks a lot
Antonio

I think sony themselves should unlock the bootloaders, kinda like htc does. My old Xperia tablet s had unlocked bootloader when they bought it back from me, so they should get the point. but OMG can't wait to buy tablet z2! You think it will be available for purchase after mwc?
Too bad the bezel is soooo obnoxiously ugly. lol

Bou I've read in this forum of threads like "FOR UNLOCKED BOOTLOADERS ONLY" and about a method to see If your bootloader is unlockable (something like #7#blablabla*. This is a real pain in the ass. Is there a way to know that Sony's criteria are to make bootloader non unlockable?
I haven't looked at Z2 yet, but I will soon. Anyway, no, I don't think It'll be available immediately after the MWC I expect It for May/June

Generally all Xperia devices bought unlocked (not from any carrier) are able to be bootloader unlocked. Some carriers block that, but not all of them.
To check, follow the tutorial: http://www.xperiablog.net/2013/06/20/xperia-tablet-z-how-to-access-the-service-menu/
At the menu, go to Service Info, then Configuration and check that.

Thank you. Samsung isn't doing the same apparently, so I had to give away my Note 3. Anyway as far as I understand there will be no 32Gb+LTE version of Xperia Tablet Z2, right? Sorry if I speak about that here but I don't think there's an apposite section on this forum.
