Block Bootloader? - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi there, I have a doubt...
I've got the Sony Xperia LWW (wt19a), with the Locked Bootloader, if I unlock it, can I reverse the operation later?
Just in case of I don't like the new rom, and I want the smartphone go back like brand new...
Thanks in advance...

You can revert back, but your bootloader wont be locked again. It wl be 'relocked'... and if you go to service center and they miss that point then u wl b lucky to claim warranty. Else, welcome back to xda

mmm ok, I'm thinking to unlock it, because I like to test roms searching the best for this model...
I just hope my phone doesn't die in the try hehe..
Thanks for the quick answer!!

So dont want to be this bad but:
in varrancy is written that it can avoid you warrancy. What does this mean? For example if you have unlocked, changed kernel and rom and broke your camera in lww warrancy still exist. But it always depends of service.
What I know? They have paid more for repaired phone that send back to you
What else can I say? I had phone, broke screen ( hardware, my fault ). I talked with guy and he toke it in my provider saloon and sent. They repaired. What this mean? I think that they are repairing whatever they will get.
But they are only my checks. So now about bootloader. It gives a lot of possibilites and I think it is worth as our phones are cheap. And trust me have my phone about year and no issue. Installed a lot of kernels, roms and tweaks but works like a charm. I can say you that it could die only in unlocking bootloader. Later depends of your reading faqs and tuts. And dont panic when will be doing this. I almost fixed when unlocking but tried again with calm and all did good.
.
If Im wrong with the thread so I think all had been explained and thread can be close. If answers satifie you please change title of your first post to solved

actually it depends on the store,
if they decide to check on the bootloader by sony's site (some imei info would be there if unlocked officially)
then they may say that the warranty is void
or if they dont check it in detail, they may repair it under warranty,

Hi guys,
My friend can send (Austria) me this phone but is sim locked.
Is there good way unlock the phone?
Docomo unlocks at point of purchase for a fee.
Check provider to see if they will also.
I'm buying from a friend, so it will be locked to O2, what's the easiest/cheapest way to have it unlocked?
Thanks.
O2 send the unlock code free of charge on request, it took 17 days for mine to arrive but no questions asked and it worked.
Ok, cool. Do you just call them up? Or pop in one of their shops?

Andy O2 models of the phone have a bootloader that's locked and it's not unlockable yet. You testing just using the phone or you considering to hack it?
At the end of it all, I'll be reviewing it. I did want to put ICS on it though. About 15 minutes ago I've seen the bootloader of this can't be unlocked though
Nothing that can be done?
**EDIT** Sorry, silly me, you've said not unlockable yet Thanks.

One thing you can do though is to use the flash tool to flash the latest update..73 has had positive results in improving battery
I think it is already .73
**EDIT** It's not, downloading the update now.

How can we do this?
I've been reading all over trying to figure it out!
Also, I'm guessing T-Mobile would try to charge for Unlocking the phone?

Believe so. When I boot up it has the T-Mobile logo.
I'm having real issues with lag and Xperia Activity Home force closing and the phone completely locking up, so I'm hoping I can stick .73 on it.

Hey pal yeah, as u noticed, cm is unlocked bl only coz of kernel. Yes u can relock ur bl (however u unlocked should have a reverse) but just out of interest y u want to?

i belive that with unlocked bootloaders i would never be able to install official updates again... and yes i'm still hoping that sony may release more updates
Well first off the processes are reversible and also i wouldnt expect official ics ur best chance is fxp rom

Wcdma chip

Hi guys around october last year I bought my neo v, after a months use my 3g stopped working, I sent it of to sony for repairs and they replaced the WCDMA chip with is the 3g, the same problem has occured again. So know I have my bootloader unlocked etc I no longer have garranty or warranty, so I will have to get the chip fixed paying, last time it was done under warranty so I dont know the price! Does anyone have any idea how much this is going to cost?, also on the paper they gave me it listed as well as the chip, there was also 4 different type of screws. The phone has a 2 year warranty, if I was to relock bootloader and repair with sony updater would the warranty still be void? The 3g on my phonr has never been brilliant so I think its rubbish chip or something! Please does anyone have any suggestion or aswers? Thanks
Press thanks if I helped!

Just relock bootloader, flash it with fw for same region as you had before, take it to the repair center and play dumb, don't say nothing.
btw. I wouldn't call it rubbish chip as I never heard for that problem, ether you just didn't have luck or you downloaded really big amount of data via 3g

Thanks, I dont think its just a coincidence the chip is gone twice, I use my 3g daily but dont do many downloads just browse etc. As I said before its been repaired before, that repair had a warranty of 3 months because its the same problem will the warranty cover it again?

If you unlocked official than Sony has got the imei of you phone and they can see that your phone has got a unlocked boot loader. So they might say you have to pay for the repair. Just give it a try.
Relock your bootloader and use sus to flash a clean stock rom.

How long did you decide about unlocking bootloader for your device

Just some idea to get started! I've to decide for two days after I get this Xperia U and after unlocking, I feel great flashing kernels and CM Roms. But I was so afraid about warranty also. So how about you guys?

First thing after I opened the package. It's kind of a habit. When I got my previous phones (HTC Desire, Galaxy Note), I installed CM on them before I even tried the stock software.
Before unboxing the phone i already generated the unlock key and unlocked the phone before the first boot, so i think it took less than 2 minutes to unlock and 2 seconds to decide to unlock it

Think it was about 4 months until the stock rom was doing my head in and I decided that CM9 was ready for daily use. Didn't bother me about warranty because it's not void anyway (in the UK at least unlocking bootloader doesn't void warranty).
It took me a good month or maybe more.
At first I was afraid of losing unrecoverable stuff, as everyone kept saying I would no longer be allowed to use sony software (for the record, TrackID and Walkman were the only ones I cared about).
My phone had no warranty, and if it ever had, those rats (carriers) wouldn't take responsability anyways. "Bravia Engine" didn't do anything noticeable to stuff so I though "hey, let's jump the gun!".
Got the code, unlocked it, and I swear it's one of the best things I've done despite all those negative comments
CM9 was still in alpha back then, so I had to work with sony's crap up until FXP announced a stable release. Then I flashed CM and couldn't be happier with it.
I don't own any of those 2012 devices, I own a Mini Pro, but it's all the same. I've unlocked lots of Xperias for some friends of mine.
BTW what's up with sony wiping all of our user data after unlocking the bootloader? Why! It sure made me have a bad time :-/
I've unlocked my Mini Pro as soon as the warranty period ended.
Best thing I've done. It's running 4.2 really smoothly!
