I don't see photosphere in the camera in AOKP 4.2.2 jb.
Should it be there or is there a reason it's missing?
Thank you
Photosphere needs Gyroscope to operate, that's missing in Mediapad.
must be right
I was trying to confirm about the gyroscope. Found some reviews that I think incorrectly stated the media pad has a gyroscope.
Several sensor apps showed no gyroscope is available.
I was hoping it would work especially since Google sky map works. With it, you can move around the tablet and it seems to determine orientation properly.
I guess that photosphere relies on it. Perhaps at some point it will be updated to work without a gyroscope but I doubt it.
I'm sorry, i was wrong. Mediapad HAS GYROSCOPE

kernel support?
I read a review that said it had a gyroscope too but thought it was a mistake as an app I tried said gyroscope was unavailable. You can't always trust reviews. I also found no mention of gyro on the huawei site. FYI, I have a T-Mobile springboard.
I used sensor kinetics from the app store to test and another I can't remember.
I tried it on AOKP 4.2.2 but not on other ROMs.
I'm going to try others and see what it says. Maybe the gyro support/drivers are missing.
It would be cool to have it working!

The GPS now works flawlessly on all the new ROMs. The compass, however, doesn't point north. I'm pretty sure this is it's only intended purpose. Apps that depend on it don't work properly. Goggle skymaps is a jumpy mess.
Can the compass be fixed? Has the fix just not been implemented? Because for the GPS to work as good as it does now, you'd think it would need compass input.
thoughts?
Have you tried calibrating the compass? I sometimes have trouble with it as well, but that usually does it. Search for "Best Compass Calibration Method" on YouTube - the first video shows the method I use.
You are supposed to wave the compass in a figure 8 pattern to callibrate it. My friends thought I looked stupid waving my phone in the middle of Starbucks.

^this. My compass works pretty well but I calibrated it through Google Maps.
@storm31 @mike2nl:
I'm running cm unofficial rom for a longtime.
I'd read @mike2nl's post about some sensors not working sometimes in forum on @storm31's rom today.
The issue not only happen's on this edition, but also happened on almost all cm rom.
I noticed that it happened in case of: when you fixed your real location by use some apps that require GPS and compass work together(such as Google maps or something like it), the magnetic sensor went not working first, then you'd find that the other sensors as @mike2nl list in forum not working ether. But the GPS goes still working.
Reboot device can set them to original type: they do can work singly.
For i'm not a developer, i didn't register in Xda site and didn't say anyword here about this.
I read you were discussing this issue today, so i registered today to submit my finding.
But i cannot reply in forum, so only post this here.
Hope you'll notice it and hope it'll be useful for you.
Thanks for all your nice works for our old SGTs!
P.S. @storm31's cm11 ron edition 05-12 has a issue: it seldom lost desktop icons after reboot device.
hi freinds
last night i instal last lineage os from offcial website.
i think gyro like otg is active in custom roms but not actived in this rom.i search forum and google but i didnt found any thing about it.
please suggest me a custom rom with this abiliti or a way that i can active it lineage 14.1
thanks
Mate, just edit your build.prop
IDK if custom roms include this "fix"
Anyway, you're not getting real gyro-based position info, just something based off the 3-axis accelerometer.
It's more of a "virtual gyro" than a real gyro, so expect lag and inconsistencies on any AR-VR app.
For example: Google's photo sphere works fine, but if you happen to tilt your phone to another directiopn rather the one you started taking a pic, it will lock to that initial angle and won't ever work well. I mean you get the photosphere, but with several black patches, or it never renders at all, or it never picks the "next spot"
YMMV
Friends,
I have been away from the Nex for many months and now have bought another Nex S (India) and tried some Google Camera ports. Found a super stable version. Everything works.
I have unfortunately not been able to remember exactly which dev made this apk, plus i've smallied and stringed some parts onto it for the Nex.
I am sharing a Google drive link for it along with the screenshot of the configuration that I use.
Hope it helps.
p.s. - If anyone comes to know the original .apk link of it, lemme know - i'd share it.
GOOGLE CAMERA
I tried to pull in and cheerypick the xml loader off some ports but unfortunately they're crashing so you'd have to punch in the configurations yourself.

Some option states that "reboot required".
Does it mean simply reboot?
Or it mean rooting the device?
It works perfectly in china rom 9.0 pie! Thanks

It's like Web view for everything AR. Some apps provide Augmented Reality functionality but they would only work if ARCore was available, which we recently got.
For example, Google Playground Stickers and stuff.
Did anyone manage to use this? Even I have it installed but none of the apps work. The camera screen gets stuck there and doesn't allow to do anything else.
Edit: Got it working.. realised it doesn't work the first time you install an ARCore app..
Verdict: Not the best but pretty good!!
