Hi all . Using the liquid ics Rom. Loving it . The only thing I miss is the HTC sense keyboard with arrows . Tried to flash couple of them available on these forums but neither of em worked (
Anybody was lucky to find a working one for aosp ics rom ?
I would really appreciate it
UPDATE: Finally found a working one. No arrows though. But I guess it will do it for now. I'll keep searching. Here's the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1844512

Maybe try the evo3d forums. I hear a lot of stuff from that phone works on ours. Just make a backup first of course.

I don't think a keyboard from evo will work either ( I'm actually looking for an aosp keyboard that looks like HTC and has arrows . Flashing the actual HTC sense keyboard in the recovery doesn't do the job . I tried multiple times :banghead:

Google HTC ime mod. That is the keyboard you are looking for. A keyboard should work regardless of what phone you have as long as they are they same brand and resolution.

HTC ime apk doesn't appear in the keyboard and input settings of the rom after successfully flashing via recovery . It doesn't replace the stock keyboard aka android keyboard under the settings .So I'm actually looking for the mod that does replace it

Yes I did .
It says installed successfully after flashing the files via recovery but it doesn't even show up in system/app directory for some reason .
I guess u need to port it manually and have no idea how to do it

I actually love the original HTC keyboard. Once I got used to having the arrows I didn't know how I ever got along without them. I recently flashed over to Liquid ICS a few days ago and were missing them. Try downloading SwiftKey 3 and giving that a go (go into the options to enable the arrows). I find this keyboard to be PRETTY similar to the HTC one, although there are differences. I'm liking it so far.
It will probably need some tweaking then. I noticed newt said it would need to be ported to work.

The only thing I don't like about it is the placement of the number keys. Only a minor thing, though.

Thanks will be trying this once I get the ROM finally working right. My old HTC IME keyboard I used on CM7 ( a themed htc sense keyboard from a dev here) was still in my settings when I flashed the ICS rom (think I missed something) and would pop up and work for the first two keystrokes before it crashed. I have looked at every keyboard out there and still prefer the HTC one over all else (just works for me). If I can get the ROM working correctly I will try out the one you posted here thanks!
My photon is rooted and I want to take a screen shot can some one help me
Sent from my MB855 using xda app-developers app
If im not mistake you would either have to be running a custom rom with screen shot option in the extended power menu or just download an app. There are plenty of them for rooted and non rooted users
Sent from my XT897 using Tapatalk 2
hold down the power button, if its a custom rom, it shud most probably be there. otherwise find Power Menu settings and then activate Screenshot
Get screen grabber from the play store. No root required. Be sure to change the settings for root in the app before trying if you don't have root.

I've never figured out how to do the Motorola Screen shot on this device without the volume rocker showing up in the pic. I have an old free app called Shoot Me that isn't available anymore. It takes great shots and also does continuous screen casts. There is a color fix setting that needs to be selected for it to work properly on this device. Requires root. If anyone wants a copy, just PM me with your email address and I'll send it to you.

On the Photon Q you should be able to take a screen shot by pressing the power, and volume down button at EXACTLY the same time.

The Photon Q is different than the Photon 4G. The Q runs ICS. The original Photon runs GB. I think you may be in the wrong thread. This thread is for the Photon 4G, not the Photon Q.

Yes, it is like a video recording of your screen. Yes, it works. It is still on the market, but only available with certain models. I attempted to upload a demonstration mp4 but it said "invalid file".

If you're original 4G MoPho then slap a CM7 ROM on that bad boy and set her loose! Screenshot via power button. Then, backup, and flash a Jellybean ROM! Recover back and forth depending on what you need. Play movies via HDMI to your TV? Th3bill's JB ROMs do it naturally. Need Netflix? Recover back to GB, CM7. Never use any third party app on the MoPho. Just get what you need, and flash via custom recovery. I use Th3bill's CWM recovery, I'm old school, but I LOVE TWRP. My Photon is the only device of 4 not to run TWRP. Flashing is fun, easy, and oh so rewarding. Have some joy in your device!
you can find application like screen graber or screen capture ect.. on play store
Hi fellow note2 users,
I am looking for a way to set the colors for the notification LED. I just can't find the right app. can someone tell me how or what to use?
Other question is if there is a way to get the stock Android dialer and contact list like in cyanogenmod instead of the touchwiz apps.
Thanks!

Try Light Manager from the Play Store, that's what I'm using now and it seems to be doing what it should be so far. Thing is some colors are a bit off, but its still ok.

very simple mod very simple op
*** THIS IS FOR THE CAP BUTTONS - Menu - Home - Back - Search - not for nav bar ***
since the new cm rebase kernel was pushed some things have changed.
my old enable/disable no longer works on the new rebase so here is the new zips
should work on all cm/aosp based 4.2.2 and 4.3 roms
disable: http://www.blownco.com/index.php/doc_download/13402-disable-capacitive-buttons-new-jd81
enable: http://www.blownco.com/index.php/doc_download/13403-enable-capacitive-buttons-new-jd81
for 4.1.2 roms use
disable: http://www.blownco.com/index.php/doc_download/639-disable-capacitive-buttons-jd81-zip
enable: http://www.blownco.com/index.php/doc_download/640-enable-capacitive-buttons-jd81-zip
just flash in recovery and reboot *put both zip's on your phone* flash disable and reboot, if you dont like it then flash enable and go on with your day
if this zip doesnt work for you *ie buttons still work after reboot* well then you dont have the proper rom,
either go on with your day or
-open a file manager
-go to /system/usr/keylayout
-delete the file sec_touchkey.kl
-reboot and go on with your day
Nice! Thanks Jamie, will definitely come in handy for me Pie/Nav bar addition!

Thought I'd share this for anyone who wants to disable the capacitive button lights. Credit goes to the original post I found at..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2210765
To turn off capacitive button lights:
1. Download a file manager with root access. I used Root Browser.
2. Go to system/lib/hw
3. Find the file named 'lights.msm8660.so'
4. Rename it to anything such as "lights.msm8660.so.old"
5. Reboot.
Hey guys, a few questions...
1. When I flashed the rom using the appropriate method (format system / factory reset / wipe davlik) my previous SD card data "disappears" I can't see it in astro but I do through boot loader.. What is going on? How can I access that data?
2. When I tried to install black mart, an apk file it doesn't let me press the install button. I do have the unknown source option checked. How can I fix that??
3. I restored my backup, stock rom, and everything works fine for now... Is this safe?? Can I just restore PAC-man and continue using it??

1. Its in /data/media, this is covered numerous times, its a 4.2 change. Copy your files from /data/media to /0.
2. I won't help with warez. Aside from that is it the only app this happens with?
3. Restore wipes before restoring, so its mostly fine, but I wouldn't flash PAC over a sense rom since they are all 4.1.

This is the second time I've seen astro fail to see those files, they really need to update. I use solid and it sees all that stuff first e right off the bat, no settings needed.
