[Q] Boot Menu - Sony Tablet S

hi guys,
i found amenu on xperia tablet s:
press power button and volume up....when sony logo starts leave power button and continue to press volume up.
i entered in menu for install update.zip, reset device.
its possible to use it to install a rooted rom 6b, or jb 4.1?
or its possible to use this menu to root?
thanks and sorry for my english
GA

Ok the menu you have found is not new its the sony recovery and can not be adatped as the bootloader is locked you are not able to install a rooted 6b firmware as the incremental value needs to be higher on the update or lower on you system

[Q] CWM Start Sk17i

hii
i have download this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1440161
but how can i start the CWM recovery?
Volume down at start dosen´t work
Start your phone (it will vibrate)
Press then release the power button (repeat until you see the logo gets brighter)
The first line in the menu is reboot, if you keep on pressing power button(see controls) your phone will reboot.
To navigate (Controls):
Move Up = Volume Up
Move Down = Volume Down, Menu
Back = Back
Enter/Accept = Power Button, Home key
I have installed the older version, then this new version. Now I have two recovery. I can use the volume down method and power button method. I prefer volume down to enter recovery (older version, I like the controls better)
Hello the power button methode dont work on this kernel :-/
i have now installed the cwm installer from market there work the volume dowm methode

I don't understand why would it not work with power button with your phone (working with mine). To enter cwm that was included on this kernel you need to use power button. The original poster even wrote:

I'm doing that by rebooting the phone and continuously pressing the volume down button when the kernel logo appears until the phone vibrates. Note: continuously pressing (pressing and releasing), not keeping the button pressed

Are you on stock kernel? Have you flashed a custom kernel (with a recovery) or did you install it with xparts? You have to press volume down when the notification led lights up (or just press volume down again and again)
I'm on Stock Kernel

I'm on Stock Kernel
I've just updated the GB (2.3.4) to ICS (4.0.4) using Flashtool (for keeping phone rooted)
I've never entered recovery mode and in fact I don't no how to do that
Tried to press it over and over, keep pressing it from the begining, start pressing (or keeping pressed) when it shows XPERIA logo and blablabla
None would work
It just vibrates and brings up the safemode

If you used xparts on locked bootloader then just keep on pressing the volume rockers and touch the Sony logo simultaneously. Then you will be into CWM.

U sure that u have installed recovery?( Via xparts or other)
Coz the stock kernel or rom by otself doesn't have a recovery.

The menu button won't work because you don't need it. Use volume up and down to navigate, back to go back and home to select

SONY XPERIA Tablet S - Factory / Hard reset
There are two ways to perform Factory Reset:
Metod 1:
Open "Settings", tap "Backup & reset", "Factory data reset"
The tablet will restart automatically.
Metod 2:
Power of the tablet. Pres and hold the Power On key and the Volume Up key at the same time.
When you see the Sony logo release the Power On button but continue to press the Volume Up button.
Now you are in the Android recovery menu.
Use Volume keys to scroll and the Power On key to select.
From the options select:
"Reset to Factory Settings" and "Yes - erase all user data".
The tablet will restart alone.
