Someone shared this on twitter and I thought it was a really cool looking widget; unfortunately it is for iOS. I was wondering if there was an Android equivalent floating around out there, I have checked the play store for one like it but have found none. I want to see if anyone knows any which are not on the google store, it looks like it would be great for a lock screen or home screen.
(I would like to post a link to the itunes store but I cannot since I am under 10 posts)

Anyone know of a web clipping widget that works with our tablet?
Try this website, you can create apps for website (similar to widgets).
http://www.appsgeyser.com/
It is being discussed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056807
Unfortunately, AppsGeyser can only convert existing widgets to apps (so far.)
The "website as app" feature works pretty well, but I have been unable to clip any of the partial pages so far.
Web Clip Widget Trial claims to do this, but I have been unable to get it to work on my VEGAnTab yet. Installs and runs, but displays a blank screen when I try to set one up.
Edit: Mechanixone, I just realized you have already been to that thread. Sorry!
I see several steam apps, (as in Valve's digital distribution service) on the market, but as they likely require me to enter my information I thought I'd check in here first and see if anyone is actually using one without issue.
Has anyone tried any of them? I dont want to enter my information into anything that might be malicious
I've been fantasizing about a Steam app for android [or onlive], but I don't think there's any reasonable way to actually play your Steam games since they're windows (or mac) only, aside from doing something like vnc or some onlive-like service. I'm not familiar with any of the apps out there, but I wouldn't bother. At best it looks like they just offer a quick way into the forums, etc.
On a side note, onlive may eventually be available. Supposedly the Flyer has some capability, and I vaguely remember reading an article on Onlive developing more apps and a 2nd gen controller to be used on devices other than their microconsole.

Haha, I suppose I should have posted what I wanted to do... durr.
I'm really just looking for a nice, integrated storefront in widget form instead of as a webpage. That, plus steam friends/community functionality, would be all I really want from a steam app.
I of course realize there is no way that we're going to be playing our steam games on our Nooks any time soon
I have a steamapp on my nexus one, All it can do is show you who is online, and a bit of other information. No chat APIs have been released by valve, there isn't much you can do that you can't do on the webpage
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.pwned.steamfriends
That looks to be about what I wanted. Much thanks
Do you know if it has a widget, or is it just a straight app?
Title basically says it. This is a super small deal and I can't see it happening. In fact the only example I can think of right now for this is say, you don't know the name of a car. So you take a picture with your smart phone. Go into your picture display app and long press the picture. Little Google Now interface pops up. "What car is this?" And then....it simply tells you.
Does anybody else ever find that the only way they can describe something is visually but they would like to know what it is? It's great to be able to do this on Google normally (which I love for finding better resolution images of something), but i only do that for pictures found on the web and sometimes, would like to know what the hell I'm looking at.
I'm pretty new to the development side of Android but I've been hovering around this forums for a little while and knew this would be the best place to ask. Is this a reasonable feature to look into?

have you tried out google goggles?
already exists. Google Goggles will scan any picture and give you back google image search results that are similar.
Search by image on android phone
I just found alternative solution using the Search by image app (free). This app let me can search by image on smartphone via google easily. You can also share images from any website to social media in one click. This app is available on Play Store you can download here : play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.searchbyimage.app
If you ever missed the old market icon, name, or not having to search through music, videos, books or magazines. Install this it's one of the original android markets it works great and the best part is it won't update on it's own change your settings or anything like.
PLEASE HIT THANKS
Cool! I like the Play Store myself. I have a few magazine subscriptions that I read on my tablets, have a few books(though I've never read them, lol), and have rented a few movies and bought a couple. That said, I suppose there are some people who might prefer the old Market and use it. At least this gives people the option. Even though I'll never use it, thank you for sharing!!
Sent from my White Evo LTE running MeanBean, using XDA Premium
Although unintentional I found out this mod lets you rate and comment on apps in the market without having to have a google + account
OK - I acknowledge there are quite a number of ways in which Google (and other corporations, for that matter) invades my privacy regularly.
That said, I just got back from a trip away, and Android on my phone (Nexus 5) has just pushed a photo album at me - purporting to depict my trip like a travel album.
Not only is this completely unwanted, it makes me feel sick. I know there's not a guy sitting at a computer in California looking through the photos in my Google+ account, but I really don't care. I just don't want this sort of stuff to happen.
So... I am looking at moving to an alternative OS and all alternative software. Does anyone have any thoughts on doing so? Ie - benefits / downsides... And what alternative OS should I move to?
Thanks all for your help!

go into google + and turn off sync photos if you don't want privacy invasion.(any place you store things online can be hacked or looked @ in the blink of an eye. (Locks only work for people who are honest)
Sure... Thanks. I've just disabled a bunch of Google apps and i'm sure it will make my phone go haywire.
I'm pretty curious about alternatives to Android though. Anyone? Seems they'll be limited as they won't have many apps and stuff, but i'd love to get out of the Google ecosystem altogether.
