help I bricked my 80 G9 - Gen8, Gen9, Gen10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

today I tried for the first time to root and install a ROM ( i'm not a newb), after flashing the SDE I start flashing the ROM but when I restarted I got a bootloop. I tried to fix It going back to the official firmware but when I press "Update Firmware" I got "Error Code 207", I don't know what to do I tried several times with no result.
Any idea?
Sorry for my bad English

Hi,
Go to recovery->Plug device to PC by USB-> Format System-> Reformat. After that tablet mount recovery disc on PC and You must put *.aos file to this disc. After flash, tablet will start load new FW.

You have to use the same version firmware (or newer) that you had installed, older version won't install.

Hi,
I got it to work.
I applied the gapps from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933989 using clockwork and then the Market app was installed.
When I started the market app for the first time I was prompted for which gapps I wanted to install

So... Now I have tried out all instructions on how to disable internal storage and PIN.
Unfortunately I cannot get it to work
Yes U neeed to install the 3G modem update(this installed the 3g modem drivers) and after set the carryer apn setings.
Hi,
Where can I find the 3G modem update files?
I thought they were supposed to be applied in the ROM
After update Folio 100 to CyanogenMod 7.1.0-RC0 I can't update to other ROMs, for example FolioMod1.4 because after the update to FOlioMod the screen is black.
Any ideas?
I have a bricked Folio because any changes that I made, for example, I select language to Spanish and change wallpaper and after one reboot, the wallpaper isn't the wallpaper I selected before and the language is again in English.
I can say that CyanogenMod bricked my Folio, I can't do anything with this.

I tried this with FolioMod 1.4 and had the same problem, but managed to solve it. I'm a newbie, but I will try to explain how it's done.
Since ClockworkMod is installed with CM7 (Gingerbread 7.1.0...),this will be the interface for factory data reset and system update.
In the CLockworkMod menu yo must select wipe data/factory reset before or after you apply a new update.zip (which also is done in the ClockworkMod interface)
Thanks for the reply lillknurra, but make wipe after and before update don't work for me.
This time, the first time that I booted FolioMod works correctly, but when reboot, I have a black screen again.
Any more ideas?

Hi,
If a WIPE doesn't help which it most likely should. You could try to "roll back" the Folio to original FolioStock according to instructions found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=846199
I remember that I also read that there are some options to format some partitions, but I can not find it when searching...
I tried to roolback Toshiba Original ROM and works fine, but when I update to FolioMod 1.4 boots only the first time.
Now I'm triying to flash recovery image with fastboot metod before flash FolioMod.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=915894
In 10 minutes I know if it works.
EDIT:
Nothing, I will try all via fastboot mode and only works the first boot. When I do a fastboot flash boot boot.img I get a error:
failed to process command flash:boot error(0x30003)
In Spain is very late, tomorrow I'll try more options.

Please don't crosspost (at least in the same board). ROM Manager does not (still) work for Folio. Flash it from update.zip
O Sorry,ok thanks.
edit: resolved. From rom manager cannot reboot into recovery mode but if I manual recover folio 100 (volume up and power) than up than down than up instead enter in toshiba recovery mode now I have clockworkmod recovery. I used advent vega device in clockworkmod list devices.

X10 mini (E10) bootlooping after Rom flash

Hello guys,
I've got an X10mini (E10) (second hand but should not branded)
I'm actually stucked in a bootloop. It happened after I tried flashing the miniCM7 ROM with CWM.
I've tried the wipe data/factory reset frome CWM but nothing happened
I've tried the recovery option from my previous backup
Nothing
I've tried reflashing the Stock Rom (found in one of Xda-developers thread)
And I still got a bootloop (with the Sony Ericson logo)
Could anyone help me? =)

Why don't you try a repair with SEUS or PC Companion, that will get you back to original.
You said you did wipe data/factory reset, but did you wipe cache and dalvick-cache too (second one in advanced menu in CWM), because they're filled with useless junk from your old ROM, causing many errors.

It will try to find an update for your phone, but since it's disconnected it can't
It will offer a Repair link

I saw your thread.
I also have an x10 Mini and got stuck in a bootloop (colors swishing around on screen). I rooted, installed xrecovery - what shows up in the screen is cwm recovery v 5,0,2,8. I unlocked the boot loader, flashed this Kernel using flash tool (an older version): U20_nAa-14_2.6.29.6-nAa-14.ftf I tried to downloand nAa 11 but 14 kept coming up, so I put that in the firmware file along with the stock Kernel. I forgot to install the drivers, but the flash tool said it was successful. After disconnecting and starting the phone "Ana" words not the symbol came up and the boot loop began. Alternatively, on start up, I can get into cwm recovery. I didn't save the rom or google app zip on my sd card as I assumed I could that after flashing the Kernel, but the bootloop makes impossible
My goal is to install Android Fire 2.3.
I would really appreciate any guidance.

Go into Mounts and Storage

You should be able to access the sd-card from your pc now and copy the ROM and maybe Gapps.

I don't know, apparently it worked fine when you connected it to your pc...
Maybe you could pull all your files off the sd-card to your pc, boot into cwm and format the sd-card (in mounts and storage), then reboot into the rom.
If that's all successful, put the files back on your sd-card.

What would happen if I select "apply update from sd card". This is the second option under CWM recovery.
Should I restore from Nanadroid. i s this necessary?
Could partitioning the sd card help? Thanks again!

The 'Apply Update.zip' does exactly the same thing as the 'Install zip from sd-card', but the first option only works for zip-files named 'update.zip' in the root of your sd-card, the second option will let you browse the sd-card and select a zip-file with any name. The second option is the one you use to install your ROM.
Restoring from nandroid, just fills your internal phone-memory with the old stuff you had in there, it won't affect your sd-card, other than that it reads the nandroid from that sd-card.
Your sd-card needs to be formatted with the fat-filesystem to work properly, so partitioning or not makes not much of a difference, only that the available space for your stuff (music, photo's, etc.) is less because the other partitions take up space too.
If you can flash your ROM in CWM from sd-card I don't really see any problem with your sd-card.
worked like a charm. many thanks!

Thanks
You can try using a test firmware, it allowed me to downgrade from official ICS to official HC
1. Grab a test firmware from this thread (if the file is missng check other links in thread, there were 4 versions IIRC)
2. Flash it
3. Boot it
4. Flash 4.0.7 or whatever you want
I can't guarantee it will work but it is worth to give a shot

Reset to Factory
You can reset to Factory any version but it reformats internal sdcard too, make sure you backup before trying.
Boot Archos A80S Recovery -> Format System -> Reformat Device... -> I Understand
Takes a long time, be patient. Recovery comes up -> USB Connection: Press OK to disconnect
Copy firmware_archos_it4.aos to A80S_REC drive that pops up in Windows -> Update in progress...
Tablet will reboot, be patient again, takes a long time. I have done this several times, works on A80S should work on all G9s.

Soft bricked GS3,how do I flash stock ROM using linux ?

I was formatting my phone's internal storage in TWRP recovery and I accidently wiped my ROM instead of formatting data. Now there's no OS on my phone i.e it's soft bricked.Odin won't detect my phone on my winXP PC,I got the samsung drivers installed and I made sure no kies process is running.I tried mounting the storage in recovery but when I click on it on my PC,it tells me ''please insert a disk''.I wanna try flashing stock ROM using ubuntu but I just don't know how.I know it's by using hemidall but I'm not very experienced with linux.I just need the codes that I have to put in the terminal.

You can always put a rom on your external sd card (if you have one) just plug it in to an adapter (again, if you have one) and pop it back in the S3. And i bet in future you'll make a back up
Good luck.
Didn't work and I don't have an external SD.Well I guess I'm f***ed :/ NOPE.As I was typing this,I thought about trying to boot my phone while it's connected to the PC and while it was stuck at ''galaxy s3'' logo,it installed additional drivers(I thought all of them were installed) and odin detected my phone.I just saved myself a visit to my other house where my main PC is which I used to do all the flashing stuff before moving here Thanks for your help

There's a program called HeimDall. You can use that to re-flash stock firmware or you can install VirtualBox and Windows on top of that, then you download the stock firmware to the virtual machine and Odin and you can set it to read/write to and from the USB ports
Hope I could help!

SIII won't start anymore

Hi, I don't understand, mobile ran so far (2 yrs) without any prob. I've been flashing and running all Temasek ROMs (4.4.4) without any issue. CWM v6.0.4.4. is installed. Yesterday, found mobile switched off and couldn't remember I switched it off, so I restarted it, and then nothing, I have the Samsung logo screen but it does not start. I can access to the CMW, but I can't do any restore, and dirty flash of ROM (still on the SD card). "reboot system now" gives me the same, stuck on samsung logo.
I do not understand. Anyone could advice me on what to try?
Many thanks
Vincent
1. A clean flash. If it still hangs:
2. Flash newest firmware with Odin. If this fails:
3. Flash a 3part-PIT with Odin.
Hi,
ok, thanks for your reply.
point No1: hoy do I perform a clean flash?
Issue now is that I can't anymore access to CMW...
Thanks
vincent
Go to step 2, follow the guide in general forum, sticky thread on how to use Odin.
ok, thx
Are Odin and USB drivers available for mac?
Thanks,
vincent
Hi, I installed Philz recovery, I can access it. One thing is when I use "power options" and choose "power off", I'm getting a message: "Root access is missing/broken. Root. THIS CAN NOT BE UNDONE" and 3 choices: No, Yes - Apply root (/system/xbin/su) and No...
anyway, when I try to install ROM, it's aborded, zip is "bad", I'll try to put on the SD card another version of the ROM.
Any suggestion?
Many thanks.
I tried a restore from SD card, it starts but at "Done 388/401Mb", I'm getting an error message: Error mounting /data! skipping format... can't mount /data!
any suggestion?
Thanks
vince

Before you start using pit files (which should only be performed if you know exactly what you are doing) have you tried to return to stock I see you have a mac (Odin does not work with mac) so try this software first >> http://glassechidna.com.au/heimdall/ << read all the guides on how to use first. please only use pit files as a last resort before all options have been eliminated.
Thanks, I have both pc and mac, I was trying from work on my mac, but I usually do on my pc.
ok, I'll try stock rom, should I then do a clean install (use this feature from PhilZ recovery)?
Thanks
Vince
Same happend to me.

Oops i forgot you can't get in recovery, so get somehow in and i'll help you with it.

Still I don't understand what happened, found phone off, i have done nothing, been using custom roms for a while....confused I am
If the phone runs out of battery, or just decides to instant reboot for no apparent reason, one or more partition can corrupt.
This is why an efs backup is essential and a nandroid is advised.
