Hmm , can you tell me how to clean the port or what to use not to bent them and one more thing, as i can see the pins are so small so how do i know if one of them is bent or not
,,,
tried cleanin the port, removing the battery for 20 min and still the same

its port problem, i tried fixing myself but didnt work, i had exact same problem, i sent it in for warranty, and samsung just sent my phone back today, and they replaced "usb port" according to receipt

"Cyber Clean" did it for me, was able to get in to the tiny spots and pull out the dust, etc. that was causing the problem.
DO NOT try to shove anything hard (Like a Q-Tip) into the space, it will break the connection.
You can also place a *newish* USB port in and out a few times, often that can dislodge whatever got in there.
BE VERY GENTLE as this is the weak part in the phone. If you break this you will need to use a wall charger.

i tried cleanin with a lot of things and it seems to be so clean now and the pins are not bent , but i dont think that the problem is at this part because when the battery goes under 60% everything returns to normal ...

I also have the same issue...is it the hardware or software issue?? kindly assist....

This is called "ghost charging". It has dozens of threads already, use the search before posting.

Galaxy s2 charging port problem

For the last week now when ever I charge the phone and unplug it it is still showing as charging do I just need to factory reset the phone or is the phone in need of repair cheers
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
also when pulling battery and re inserting i get a yellow triangle with exclamation mark and a temp gage what does that mean ?
I have a similar problem.
No matter what charger I use, the phone randomly switches between charging and non-charging state.
Is this a problem with software or the port.
Just to clarify, I can hold the phone upside down, hanging from the charging cable, or wiggle the charger and it will continue to charge. The above error is just random. This leads me to believe it is a software or battery problem.
well after flashing back to o2 ke7 all is well again so must of been software related
Mine makes the plug and unplug sound randomly, sometimes it wakes me up at night and its not plugged in.

This happens to mine too. I'm on the stock unbranded firmware and haven't rooted our updated. This problem randomly appeared about a month ago.
I've just started seeing this problem now in the past few days.
When I unplug the charger, either the battery charging icon stays on, or the "Battery full, unplug charger" notification stays there.
The big problem is if I turn off the phone. After shutdown, the screen stays on showing two different icons (changes between them every few seconds). One icon is a battery half full or so, the other is an empty battery with a yellow triangle and a icon of a thermometer next to it.
When this happens, I can't turn on the phone. The only way I can turn on the phone when this happens is to plug in the charger, start up, then remove the charger again.
I'm on rooted KG2, XWKDD kernel. Bit worried about this, I'll try another ROM & kernel but I don't think it's software related?
It is discussed in this thread:

Cleaning USB port and in some times bending USB PCB downwards solves the problem.

Galaxy s2 car mode and charging port issue - resolved
HI,
I have been facing this issue with my galaxy s2.(When i have created samsung account and install Darky ROM 2 - XXKH3 ROM)
Issue:
1)Activation of CARD mode - automatically.
2)Charging automatically- though charger is not connected
3)Enabling the voice mode - automatically.
4)Battery draining problem.
5)auto handsfree speaker enabling
Solution:
There are two solution for the above problems:
1)Assume its not related to hardware (My case), i have wipe all the data(Using Darky Rom 2 tool), problem seems to occur even then.
I have updated the ROM to XXKG3_ODEXED. - that totally solved the problem.
I m using my S2 now for a week...no issue.
2)Assume its related to Hardware issue, (in some case's), you can clean the charging port by using thinner( nail polish remover - easy to get and cheap).
First u have to remove the battery, (preferably in direct sun light), use cotton to soak thinner, apply it on inner side of the port. keep the phone as it is for 20 minutes.(30 would be great).
Insert the battery, power on the phone.....problem solved.
I have tested it on 2 S2's, one with software problem and one with hardware issue.
Hope that will help....

Thanks! Had the same problem and cleaning the port and moving the contacts towards the display with a toothpick worked for me!

Hello, i had the similar error. I had to send the phone to Samsung. Let see what happens....
same problem here..100 % same issue...what to do...this is pathetic
Same problem here, just after a month of having the phone started the problems. The five problems darshangkolhe said, but also: auto power-on of the phone when I switch it off, and what it is more annoying, it is very difficult to get detected by Kies when it is plugged to the PC. Sometimes it only starts charging and others nothing, not even charging the phone.
I am very dissapointed with Samsung, I have paid 500€ for what was supposed to be one of the best phones, but just after a month of use it is going crazy!!
I am bringing it to the Samsung´s technical support this week.
Take a toothbrush and brush the Micro-USB port vigorously. Fixed.
Having the same problem, fixed doing the above. This phone was awesome. But it just looks so much like its a big rush job with all the bugs that were there. The screen coloring. Now the USB-port.
Meh.. wondering about that 5 phone..
Thanks prodygee, but I´ve already tried with a cotton bud with a bit of alcohol and no luck. I will try to get my phone fixed by the technical support or replaced.
I can not think about the 5 phone, I have spent 500€ not even 2 months ago, so for me another phone is not affordable.
I just want my Galaxy S2 to work as expected, it is not a low-cost mobile!
mine has been fine since, but today it has started doing it again so its booked in for repair at CPW,technician states he has all the parts so will do it while i wait

Battery Spoilt Or Device Damaged?

Hello I have no idea what is going on, the battery icon on the status bar just keep blinking NON STOP! I have done full wipe and install different roms a dozen times!. but that didn't stop the battery from blinking, I tried to pull out the battery and place it back, it stopped blinking for a few minutes then it start off blinking again.
Anyone have any idea if my device is damaged or it's due to a faulty battery? and what does blinking battery at the status bar indicates? does it mean faulty? why is it blinking?! god
What does the icon look like?
What shows when you power off and then connect the AC charger?
Might just be a bad battery, you can try going to a phone shop and ask them if they have a spare battery to try in your phone, sometimes they do and sometimes they are nice enough to let you try.

It means you are probably suffering the usb-plug-brick.
Enter *#*#4636#*#* tap battery info, anything suspicious?
Clean your USB port briefly and with care! Try to slightly push the connector back to the center.
Was your phone wet in the last days?
If all this does not help.. Buy a new USB connector board and replace it. It costs around 12 bucks on Ebay.
Does the issue disappear after the battery had lost some juice? (below 80% charge)
Goods luck!

Does it say battery disconnected? That's a problem with the actual battery.

I think you are right, i remember just a moment ago i kept hearing usb connected sound every 10 second. after that i do a full wipe. the sound went away, but my usb port respond very slowly, like after unplug my charger it still state there charging for about 10 second then stopped normally. but weird thing is, after taking out the battery and place it back.. the issue has been solved for awhile. do you think its any relate to the battery? or simply only the usb that is causing this issue?
does samsung warranty covers usb port?

Phone gets very hot, even when it's turned off

Hello,My brother gave me an old Galaxy SII that he had stored somewhere, but when I insert the battery, (even if it's turned off) it gets hot on its bottom right side. (seeing it from the back, see the attached picture below) and when I plug it to a charger it gets super hot (I can't stand to put my finger on it )from that same side, and some seconds later the "Charging paused, battery temp too high or too low" sign will appear. The same happens when charging it while it's turned off.
Any suggestions? I put my dad's battery on it(a SGII too), and the same, and put my battery on his phone and it charged fine, so I don't think that the battery is the problem. My guess is that the charging port is faulty, I tried to clean it with isopropyl alcohol and a toothpick, but no luck.
Do you think that if I change the usb part will fix the problem?
Any suggestions?
By the way, I'm on stock samsung GB rom, and I already tried a Hard Reset.
Greetings.
Yeah you might as well try replacing the port/flex cable, but the getting super hot thing is a worry. Could be the charging circuitry. Get a port/flex cable from eBay/wherever & see how it goes.
That's a short man, take it to service center and they'll check it out.
Yeah, I Think that it's a short, because even if the phone it's unplugged and powered off, when the battery is inserted it gets hot.
I found this, http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f258/samsung-galaxy-s2-i9100-short-circuit-solution-1537757/ I'm going to open it and see wich component get's hot,

My Galaxy wont charge via PC or Charger

My battery started to drain fast few days ago, i thought it was a software issue(some apps). Yesterday i put it on the charger, as i didnt put it, nothing happend, i thought my charger broke, i put it on PC, same, wont charge, now im thinking the connector broke, u put USB OTG memory stick and it reads it normally, so the port is working, tryed factory reset and reflashing offical stock rom, problem isnt solved, also when the phone is in download mode on charger or pc, and i take out the battery the phone stays on, it takes power directly from the charger(this is normal), witch i think confirms its a battery problem, not a phone. Now, anyone faced this problem also? Have expirience whit this, any advice what should i do (im gona try with new battery but its a weekend, no stores working). Any help, any chance its really a battery problem, not a phone?
EDIT: Also when the battery is in, phone off, put it on charger, the empty battery shows, the grey curcle arrow rolls (battery stats are read), then it shows the battery level for a second, and the circles bellow it instead of zooming in and out in movement, it stays at the first for a seccond and then the display turns off, nothing, no red light also.

I hope you are right, i had that problem before, and replaced it, after then im extremely careful and gentle, so i think there are very low chances that thats the problem, i will take it to service later today, its still under warranty
Its probably a faulty battery
I had a faulty cable and man it was horrible
I was on vacations so no shops around, the phone would constantly show charger connected/disconnected and would take ages to charge

Battery issue

Hello everyone
For the last 2 days, my S3 is having a hard time charging its battery: when I plug it into my computer, the lock screen says "battery loading" and there's a small lighting at the top of the screen telling me its loading but the percentage of battery left stays (or increase really slowly) at 42%.
I tried removing the battery, turning the device on and off or trying another USB cable (and with the charger instead of with my computer) and it still take a very long time to load. I haven't installed any app or changed the ROM. It litterally came from one day to another.
Any ideas ?
Thank you

PCs aren't able to provide a voltage as high as wall plugs can. If you're using your phone while it charges then the charge may not change because it's using the same amount of charge you put in. Try charging at the wall first, and if that doesn't change anything it's probably a problem with the battery.
