YP-G70CWY\XAA can't mount \sdcard and non responsive capacitive buttons - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

I Odin Eryigit rom for my Galaxy player 5, after that my capacitive buttons doesn't work, i can't install anything using clockword mod because everytime i try to install a different rom, can't mount /sdcard will pop up.
anyone know how to solve this ?

First, I would make sure you are running the latest CWM. Boot into CWM then go to Advanced> Reboot Recovery. Sometimes this can fix minor bugs. If that doesnt fix it the worst that could happen is that you will have to reflash CWM and/or a different ROM.

Are you running the correct kernel? And did you try doing install from internal sd.
Sent from my YP-G70 running my PA 2.57.4 using xda app-developers app.

i'm not sure if i'm using the correct kernel or not, if you can please point me to the correct kernel.
And yes i was trying to install it using the internal Storage.
please point me to the correct kernel and stock rom, i have no luck in finding it ( 3 capacitive buttons version one ) YP-G70CWY\XAA 8GB

bump !!!!!!!!!!!

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192488

I had the same problem...
You have to shut your player down and go into download mode. If its restarting and won’t stay off thats ok just hold the power button down and as soon as it go blank release the power button and press and hold the volume down button - should be in download mode then.
You will have to download the stock version for the Galaxy Player 5.0,
I used - galaxy_player_2.3.6.tar.md5 .
You can find it here in XDA forums. Once you have it, extract the md5 to a folder on your desktop. Start Odin, once started - connect your player.
You should see your device ID "Added” in the Message section and in the ID:COM above. Now select PDA and click the PDA button to search for your md5 file you downloaded and load it into Odin. Before pressing start make sure that the only options checked are "Auto Reboot" and "Reset Time". Now press start, you will see the progress in the Message field and updates just above the ID:COM field at the top left. Once it says Pass it has completed, wait for your player to reboot and then disconnect once its at the slide screen..
You should be good to go now, you can always try another flavor but if you want to use it, the stock OS is better than a brick.
You may be familiar with most of the steps I mentioned above but I thought I would take you through them all in the event you are not and also for others who may have the same issue…
Thanks,

Can I get into recovery mode with a faulty home button?

Can I get into recovery mode without a working home button? My i9100 has a faulty home button, phone is stuck on a bootloop will not get pass the samsung logo screen. I can flash the phone in odin with a stock rom and finish with success but still get stuck on bootloop. I think if I can get into recovery to wipe data then the phone will boot all the way. Any help is appreciated. I've searched but have found nothing solid. Thanks!
Buy a usb jig off ebay. plug it in then turn your phone on and it will put it into download mode.

I can get into download mode by pressing and holding volume down + pressing and releasing power but still holding volume down when turning the phone on. But my question is, how do I get into recovery without home button?
Flash a matching Chainfire CF root kernel via Odin (phone in DL mode). This with install his Cwm app. Once rebooted, run app (give su permission), and choose to boot into either clockwork recovery, dl mode, or reboot.
Edit: But once in recovery, how do you plan to actually select anything when the home button doesn't work? ? ?

Oh dear without the home button it's hard to operate the phone. I think you can boot into recovery mode by using ADB, search on the forums or Google.
I would rather you have the home button replaced ot fixed.
Cheers!

Use can use QtADB to get into recovery - just tried, it works. But the option "flash zip" doesn't work, and of course,................
how do you plan to "select" anything if the home button doesn't work? ? ? Can't think of any way just yet.
---------- Post added at 03:11 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:49 PM ----------
If you have adb setup, and know how to use it;
1. Copy the Custom ROM.zip to your sdcard folder on the phone
2. Rename to "update.zip"
3. Run CMD and navigate to the sdk tool folder where adb.exe is
4. Run "adb reboot recovery" to enter recovery mode
5. Phone to boots into recovery screen
6. "apply: /sdcard/update.zip"
7. After finish, reboot into new ROM
Haven't tried it myself though on the SGS2 ..............
tried it, didn't work..
Lost my Home button after odin flash HELP
I am stuck a i9100 that has no home working home button after i botched my first odin flash. I can not seem to get the device to be recognized by ADB or ODIN now that its messed up. I can boot into the Android Recovery System e3, and i can move up and down in the menu, but the 'home' button i used to select options no longer works. I can not get it to boot out of that menu.
This is a Sprint branded i9100 from the United States... tho when i got it, it was already 'rooted' with Gingerbread-Eg30 however it did not state the firmware version. So after i used ODIN to ref lash it... it rebooted and killed my home key... Now i am not sure what to do. ADB is not finding the device listed and I can't seem to get it to take a rom. Any suggestions?
Prior to flashing this rom in odin i had a working home key which was used as part of the 3 button combo to ender flashing mode or to select an option in the stock recovery menu.
Any help would be great!

I am having the same problem. My I9100's home button doesn't work. I had cyanogenmod 10.1 and cwm recovery installed. Used the button saviour app to operate a virtual home button on screen. Updated to cyanogenmod 10.2. nightly yesterday. All seemed working. Today I found that some apps like Google Play and ROM Manager would crash on when started. So I thought I go back to cyanogenmod 10.1. Started the installation of 10.1 from the "about this phone" settings because ROM Manager crashed and I couldn't boot into recovery from the crashing ROM Manager.
So, I now flashed a stock firmware from samfirmware.com with ODIN (because I can get into download mode with the USB-Jig), but that stock rom stucks in a boot loop.
Any suggestions? I believe, I am stuck in boot loop because I couldn't wipe the phone before flashing. Is there any way to wipe it in download mode?
Or can you be more specific, how to flash a "full wipe rom" and post a link where I can download such a rom?
1. Don't use rom manager on i9100, sure way to screw things up /brick.
2. Get the hardware sorted before you muck around with software. As you have found out, it's easy to get into a situation where you need the hardware to function correctly.
3. Download JB leak (stock firmware) from samfirmware and flash it via Odin. It's a 3 part firmware, and will wipe as it flashes.

Is there anyway of finding out withought having to have a working phone ie through the serial etc..
It is an unlocked phone
I have it on o2 and it is british not imported
Cheers i wish i was clued up about this
The first time i rooted it when i got it it all worked well no problems and i then flashed back to the origanal rom and it worked well got all updates and was still rooted
After ICS i see i could not install some apps i had so i flashed a new insacure rom and thats where it all began
IS IT BRICKED SHOULD I SELL IT AS FAULTY
No, as your phone still turns on.
First boot back into the recovery you have now, and factory reset and wipe the cache.
Then to revert back to stock head over to the galaxy s2 forums, then into original Android development, then head into the official firmware page, and flash one of the firmwares listed there with Odin.
Hope that helps

No, don't add that PIT file. Just post the log messages from ODIN.
EDIT:
Also try following things:
1. Make sure you're in download mode and your screen shows "Downloading..." text.
2. Take out your battery for 5 minutes and put it back.
3. See if the phone charges in power off mode. If yes, make sure it's charged enough, at least 30%.

Right now, you've installed CyanogenMod ROM of Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 version of Android. It doesn't have Kies in it as it's a version from google, more clean and bloatware free. If you want, you can go back to Samsung Version to use Samsung Kies. All you need to do is to download and follow the instructions from following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544487
Alternatively, here are instructions to import it into without Kies.
there is one way i found
1. open Kies
2. open your last saved *.spb file
3. save the file again as *. vsf manually in the file name area
4. go to were normally saved spb files ( C:\Users\ _\Documents\samsung\Kies\PIMS)
5. you will find all the contacts saved as vsf file.
6. select all contacts and copy them in a directory (ontacts)
7. connect your samsong to the pc and copy the directory (cotacts) in to the sd card
8. disconect your samsong
9. select the contact icon
10. from the left key press and select import contact from sd
job done

Download Odin (computer program) from HERE.
Download ClockworkMod Recovery from HERE (place this file somewhere on your computer where you can easily locate it).
Download "su-2.3.6.1.x.zip" file from HERE (place this file on the root of your sdcard...not within any folders).
Instructions:
1. Install Samsung drivers on your computer.
2. Open Odin on your computer. (You may need to disable antivirus programs on your computer and/or phone for this to work properly.)
3. Power off your phone and remove the battery.
4. Plug the stock USB cord that came with your phone into a powered USB port on your computer (usually on the back of the computer).
5. Press and hold the "volume down" button on your phone, and continue to hold it while plugging the USB cord into your phone. This will put your phone into download mode. You'll see a large yellow triangle on the screen of your phone. (Let go of the volume button at this point.) You will also see one of the small boxes in Odin turn yellow, as well as "Added" appearing in the message box.
6. Click the PDA button in Odin (NOT the PHONE button) and navigate to the "CWM3_Voodoo.tar.md5" file you downloaded earlier. This file does not include a voodoo kernel and will not perform the voodoo lagfix conversion. It's only named as such to note that it is compatible with voodoo kernels.
7. Click START. When this process has finished, you'll be notified in Odin (succeeded 1 / failed 0) and your phone's screen will go blank.
8. Unplug your phone and re-insert the battery.
9. Press and hold BOTH volume buttons. While holding them, press the power button. Hold all three simultaneously until you see "SAMSUNG" appear. This will boot your phone into ClockworkMod Recovery. If your phone boots up normally here and not into recovery, just wait for it to boot up and then power it down and try again. It may take a couple tries for you to get it right.
10. Using the volume rocker, navigate down to "Install zip from sdcard." Highlight it and press the power button to select.
11. Navigate to "choose zip from sdcard" and select with the power button.
12. Navigate to the "su-2.3.6.1.x.zip" file that you downloaded earlier and select it. Scroll to "Yes," and use power button to select.
13. When you're advised of completion, press the MENU softkey to go back to the previous CWM Recovery screen, then highlight and select "reboot system now."
At this point your phone will reboot and you'll be rooted. Open up your app drawer. You should see an app called "Superuser." If it's there, you're done! Now you can think about possibly moving on to a custom ROM and/or kernel. Instructions for flashing a custom ROM can be found here.
Thanks for any help and sorry for the Questions i read around and couldn't find anything i understood.

Any help on that? i have tried multiple things that ive read like restarting computer different cables and cleaning the usb ports. Im using odin 1.83 on vista 64 bit. I know u may not have files for this or even know what it is, but have you tested to see if adb or fastboot work at all? Might be unrelated but I think that it shows if samsung drivers are working correctly

I've heard about it. Do you think you could link me a walk-through that youd suggest and I can try it later.

[Q] Bootlooping Galaxy Player 5.0

Hey guys. I have mentioned this problem in the paranoid thread, but since I haven't gotten a definitive answer to this problem, I decided to ask for help here. I was running paranoid with entropy's kernel. I was trying to find a good DPI for Framework-res and I had it set on 180. Most likely, I accidentally typed 18 or 1800, as when I rebooted my device, It bootlooped. It would make it to the paranoid boot logo, then it would show about a third of what might be a system toast, probably the optimizing apps notification, and then it would return to the paraoind logo. I went into CWM and tried to reflash the ROM, but I ran into the same problem. So I wiped everything and factory resetted, then reflashed the ROM. After that, it wouldn't even get passed the Samsung logo. It just stays there indefinitely. I am not able to reach CWM in this state, but if I let the device die, then recharge it, then turn it on, I can get into CWM. Is there any hope for my only Android device? Thank you for replying to my urgent request.
-Many thanks,
arceusg
The fact that you can get into CWM is a good thing. So, don't do anything drastic. When you get into CWM, do a data/factory reset. Then, wipe cache partition. Then go into mounts and storage and format System. After that, while still in the mounts and storage menu, choose mount USB storage and plug into PC. When USB storage opens on your PC, put a .zip of a different ROM on your device. Close USB storage and go back and install the ROM through CWM. Once the new ROM is installed, try moving on from there.
EDIT:
Also, I'm pretty sure that you should be able to get to CWM Recovery regardless of the battery state or DPI. I'm not trying to insult your intelligence here, but I just want to recap how to get into CWM Recovery on the 5.0.
1. Hold VOLUME UP + POWER until the Samsung logo shows up, but don't let go yet.
2. The device should reboot again, where the screen will go black and the Samsung logo will pop up again.
3. Now that the Samsung logo has popped up again, let go of the power button, but continue to hold the VOLUME UP button.
4. Continue to hold the VOLUME UP button until CWM Recovery boots up.
Any luck, dude?
I followed your exact instructions and it just stops at the samsung logo. Any suggestions? I am open to heimdall/ODIN.
Are you able to get into download mode?
You can do this by:
Holding VOLUME DOWN + POWER until a yellow construction-like sign comes up.
If you can, that's critical for ODIN to work.
If you get to download mode, you can download a ROM that you flash via ODIN.
I'm assuming you know how to operate ODIN.
If not, try getting into download mode, and we'll move forward from there. Keep me updated.
Also, with regards to my post below. About getting into recovery mode, be sure that you are holding the VOLUME UP + POWER buttons until the Samsung logo boots up twice, at which point you release the power button. Be sure you're doing that.
I am able to get it in download mode. I also have ODIN installed, and I'm pretty familiar with ODIN, but wlking me through it would be nice, just cuz I'm no stranger to bricking devices through tools like this.
Basically, the only thing you need to know when flashing via ODIN on the SGP 5 is that anything you flash should be flashed through the "PDA" option of ODIN. So, when you want to flash a .tar file via ODIN, press the PDA button and navigate to the directory on your computer where you stored the file you want to flash.
I don't think you need to repartition, but if you did, you'd need to download the .pit file and flash through the PIT option in ODIN.
Anyway...do you have Stock ROM handy? You can flash a custom kernel with stock ROM, so you can flash an overclock kernel for your device, then flash stock ROM on top of that.
Let me know how you do.
Where can I get an ODIN flashable stock tar? And its pretty late here in New York so I'm gonna head up to bed.
I'm down here on the east coast in Virginia, but I'll be up for a while yet.
Do you have the USA or the international SGP 5?
The international has a physical home button.
The USA has all capacitive buttons.
I need to know this in order to see if I can track down a ROM for you.
I'm just going to assume you have the USA version since you're in New York.
Here's a great thread I found about going back to stock via ODIN.
