Hello.
I am unable to find in Settings the option for choosing the lock screen widgets.
I enter this option only from the Add button from the lock screen. I have a Nexus 4 with Android 4.2.2.
Where can I find this option?
Thank you,
George.
There is no option in the Settinsg to choose lock screen widgets.. You cam choose them via the Add button which you have mentioned.. I would also like to mention that all the widgets you have in you phone might not be supported for the lock screen.. the specific widgets which has this capability will appear once you press the + button to add them..
Thanks
OK, thank you for the answer.
I saw that not all my widgets appear in the list, for security issues.

Hey all. I always wondered why Archos didn't make a lockscreen (like most android phones have). I always liked to have some widgets and info on my old iPhone lockscreen so I could see basic info without having to unlock the device.
Has anyone come across a way to add a lockscreen to Gen8 devices? An option to turn on/off the lockscreen would be a nice addition by Archos.
I had used this basic method to lock my screen.
Settings --> Location & security --> Change screen lock
You can use Pattern or PIN to unlock screen.
If you need Slide to unlock, you can search "Unlock Screen" for apps in market.
jakkrith's method is great. or you could purchase widget locker from the Market:

Force Closes on A70S.
I think what Techngro means is a lockscreen which also shows some useful information like calendar, todo list, etc..without a need to unlock it.

I installed widgetlocker, but I got a problem now.
When I try to put out my screen (by pressing the power button)
The screen will turn black, as it has to, but then the slide bar will return.
I have to push the power button again to let the screen stay black.
Is there a setting I set wrong? Or is there a way to let the screen turn black and stay out at once? (until I push a button ofc)

Some folks have reported sleep issues with widget locker. you should check out the thread on XDA for possible solutions. i believe there is setting in WL to prevent it from coming back on:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=732986
I looked there, but couldn't really find it in the 680 comments.
Used the search function, but I don't think I use the right words..
Can you tell me where to look, or what words to look for?

Yes, that is what I was thinking about. I'll take a look at widget locker though.
I followed Roebeet over from woot (waves) and decided on tnt lite 4.4.0 as my replacement ROM of choice.
I'd like to be able to use the 9-dot unlock gesture to open the thing, to try to keep my kids out, but I don't see it as an option under 'security.'
Am I missing something obvious?
(Please say yes...)
Yes , you can, but you need to use the Activities menu in launcher pro to access the lock settings.
Install Launcher Pro, then add a shortcut to the home screen, select "Activities" look for Settings and expand it (click the arrow circle), from settings choose "com.android.settings.ChooseLockGeneric" it will open a windows to rename the shortcut , rename as desire and after that click on that shortcut it will open the lock configuration screen. Select pin, pattern...
ROCK!!
All set!
Thanks!

Hi,
After I configured a lock pattern, how do I lick the Gtab?
Thanks,
Jim
That is a balls-up AWESOME typo.
Just press the power button a quick press. Not the holding-down-to-turn-off press. Just a 'click.'

Hi,
Just tried quick pressing the power. Screen went black. Pressed power again and screen came back on, but no lock screen?
Jim
Did you set a lock pattern?
You'll also have to check the box that requires it be entered when the thing starts up.

Yes, I did set a lock pattern. Where do I check that box?

Lock only works for TnT lite roms (vegan, gadam too), but not for stock rom 3588 or before. Security lock is no enabled for stock roms or stock + enhacement pack, or TnT lite versions 4.2.5 or before (because are stock 3588 or before based).
and please use the thanks button
Ahh. Did not realize that.
BIG thanks!
And I can verify that: With TnTLite 4.4.0, I certainly am getting the lock screen.
How do you put launcher pro on G tab and where you get it?
Search the Google marker for launcher pro. Download and install or you can download the apk from their web site: Launcher Pro
I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to get a lockscreen that is part of the system, not an app. I have tried 4 3 different apps and non of them work right. They all freeze the system when i use the power button to put it to sleep, i get a white screen and nothing else. Please don't suggest any apps that is not what i asked this question for. I want a lockscreen that is part of the franework.
There is a screen lock in settings. You have the options of pattern, PIN or password. You will find it in Location and security settings.
No I know about that one. I mean a slide style lockscreen. Like on most android devices

no hope for original one, you may install WidgetLocker to re-enable it.
i tried widgetlocker and everytime i use the power button to put to sleep and then try to wake up all i get is a blank white screen. i dont get it.
On Widgetlocker, (or in any other launchers) I can make a shortcut button to make a post on Friendcaster. This lets me jump right into making a Facebook status without having to go into a program, and then hitting the update button. I had these shortcut links both on my home screen and on my lockscreen (so I wouldn't even have to unlock the phone... just just get an immediate pop up to type an update)
I like the ripple effect of the touchwiz lock screen, and I have some shortcuts set up there... but it seems that you can only give links to full apps, and not the 'shortcuts' that the launchers or other lockscreens allow. There is normally one called 'Post' ...but on the touchwiz one if just gives full app names. Anyone know a way around this? Thanks.
The lock screen is only coded to allow applications, rather than specific functions of applications.
So no.
Apologies if this has been posted somewhere else. I've tried searching the forum but it's so vast I've not been able to find an answer.
I have an un-rooted Galaxy S3 which I've just upgraded to Android 4.3. I was hoping to be able to use Dashclock to have lockscreen widgets enabled along with the pattern protection I use. However, it seems that Samsung have disabled the ability to have multiple lockscreens and add other widgets to it.
Is there any way around this without rooting my device, which I really don't want to do?
Thanks in advance.

Here is how, but maybe not the solution that you need
Hi! I found that in order to get lock screen widgets to work on a Galaxy S3 you need to unprotect your lock screen by selecting SWIPE as the security screen lock (pattern, password, or PIN protection will disable third party lock screens.) Once you have set the security screen lock to SWIPE you will see the options for third party lock screen widgets.
It is a real shame that Samsung is restricting us from using third party lock screen widgets while using a true security screen lock option.
I hope that this helps.

Well, can you then tell me how to do it? Because as soon as I use any security screen lock other than swipe, all lock screen widgets options disappear and swiping from the left on the lock screen stops working too, so no widgets can be added. Just in case, I am using the TMO flavor of the Galaxy S3.
