Hi, I am trying to root my Nabi 2, but whichever package I use, jmz, nabiroot etc, my pc (Win 7 64bit), will not recognise the Nabi 2. I have repeatedly tried installing drivers to the Nabi (pdanet, nabiroot drivers etc) but it refuses to do it. I am wondering if this is because my nabi has updated to version 2.0, and the rooting packages all seem to require 1.9.37. Is this likely to be the issue? If so what should I do?
Any help much appreciated.

No everything should work fine on v2.0.5. Is USB debugging enabled?
Nabi 2 rooting problem
Thanks for replying. Yes debugging is enabled. When I install drivers on the pc it asks for the android device to be plugged in and the device should start installing drivers - this never happens. The Nabi does show up under 'other devices' in device manager but not as an android device.

What device is it fronting on USB? USB\VID_0955&PID_7100&REV_0232&MI_01? Right click device in device manager, details, hardware id's. It should be a problem with PDAnet ones but did you disable driver signature enforcement in case that is somehow coming in to play?

Sorry, should have said - it shows up in portable devices, not other devices. There are two ids:
USB\VID_0955&PID_7100&REV_0232
USB\VID_0955&PID_7100
I did restart using F8 and selected disable driver signatures - do I need to do that every time I restart the pc or will it remain in that state?
Thanks again.

It stays in that state for only that boot, but once the drivers are successfully installed it doesn't matter any more. Have you ever had any other android drivers installed on the system that might be conflicting?

Hi, I did have a driver for my HTC, which I have now uninstalled. I can't see any other android drivers. I tried installing PDANet again, no go. Uninstalled that and tried NabiLab - no go. Uninstalled that again! Is there any hope?!

anyone have a 64-bit adb driver for the slide
Where is the 32 bit? I plugged my phone into my PC last night when I got home, and it couldn't use the driver I recently downloaded that I was using for the G1... Or do i have to manually update the driver again using the same driver INF file I used for the G1?

it took a few days after nexus release to get a proper driver so im thinking we will be waiting a day or 2.
I used the 64bit driver for the Dream and my Vista64 had no trouble connecting to my Slide in ADB.
Thanks Fordude on Android Fourums!!!
1. Used USBDeview to uninstall all of the HTC drivers/ports
2. Unplugged HTC from PC
3. Installed PDANet software for Android (free).
4. When prompted, plugged in slide
5. After successful report of drivers being installed and program, accessed adb just fine!

Worked great for me on win7/64. SDK and Android Browser both work, still need root though
Also tried to use Apps2sd update zip, needs to be signed for this phone if anyone would be willing.

and the instructions for ADB were found here

I'll have to give this a try. I remember using PDANet a while back and it worked, so probably will work again. Thanks
awesome i got it working now thanks
Strange, I'm still getting an error on mine. When I plug mine in, it tries to install the drivers, and then the windows driver install box tells me that the device is not configured correctly. And yes I have USB debugging turned on.

On this phone, I had to change the default connection mode to Charge Only, and then also make sure Debug mode was enabled. It kept automatically turning into a mass storage device even though debug was enabled at the same time. Also, use USBDeview, it will find all your HTC/MyTouch/ADB/Android drivers installed. Remove them, unplug phone, reinstall PDANet, and you're golden.
the HTC Sync update for the phone was released for the phone. it should contain the necessary and appropriate drivers.

I've done all the steps in the proper order. Removed everything. However, my phone was defaulting to the USB Mass Storage mode, so I tried it again in Charge Only and it still fails.
I also couldn't find anything on HTC's website that pertains to poetik517's post. But I'll keep looking.
Thanks anyways guys, it's not that big of a deal for me to just wait.

You'll want to remove the driver again via USBDeview. THEN make sure Charge only is selected, reinstall PDANet, and then plug in phone. If it still doesn't work, you are doing something wrong, trust me.

Excellent. Glad it worked.
Hey!
This is my first time posting, but I have read tons of threads on here over the last year or so with my Droid DNA.
A while ago, I rooted my DNA, and unlocked the Bootloader, and used moonshine for S-OFF. I now want to undo all that I have done. Wiping data is no issue, I backed up all my info. I plan to get a new phone soon. Basically, I can't get adb drivers to work. So I deleted my drivers, and installed the ones mentioned in the thread linked below, and I can't find how to get these drivers to work.
My plan is to follow this thread, using step 3 (for moonshine). I have TWRP installed, and flashed the lock_bootlader.zip file provided there. I cannot get adb to work, however, for the next step. For example, "adb devices" returns no devices. And thus i cannot use adb commands. When I run "adb devices", it shows this. What do I do??
Thanks
Some more clarification:
I might also add that Device manager shows my phone as "HTC6435LVW", under "Portable Devices". It seems to recognize it as an MTP Device when I try to update the drivers, and won't let me update the drivers, because "The best driver software for your device is already installed".
In addition, HTC Sync Manager does not recognize my phone either. I should mention that I already chose "Reset Phone" from the Settings menu, and then also did a Factory Reset from TWRP.
I'm so confused by all this - Why can't I get ADB to recognize it?? I have been and will continue to be searching for solutions to this problem here on XDA and also on Google. And do I even need to do all this to give my phone back to Verizon?
Try getting the drivers from PDAnet. If you are using Windoze 8 or 8.1 , good luck.

I tried that, it gets stuck at the USB Driver Installation page, when it asks to connect your phone. I have USB debugging enabled, and I even installed PdaNet on my phone to try to use their "USB Mode". The DNA has not USB options for Mass Storage, etc like the pdanet driver help page ( pdanet . co / driver ) (It wont let me post a link because I'm a new user, sorry) tells me to look for.
Windows device manager does not recognize it as an Android phone, but instead as a portable device, could this be a problem?
Thanks for your reply

Hi,
Need to know if someone has connected the phone with "Motorolla Device Manager" through USB? If so how?
From past two days I have been trying mine to connect, however, it only connects to the windows and I see the files etc. but not to the MDM.
I tried un-installing, re-installing, re-booting but nothing seems to be working for windows 8.1 64 bit.
I have googled and searched on the Motrolla site with no luck.
I have unrooted Moto-E XT 1022 4.4.2.

The MDM is still not working. When it's installed at the last step the installation says that the MDM icon would appear. It never does. Manually starting the MDM, starts the software updater which also errors out at the end. See attached screenshots.
After some work around on enabling the USB Debugging and then turning on the MTP, I do get a Media device on windows. In the drivers I could see the Motorola ADB Interface and my XT1022 as a portable device. See attached screenshot.
Strangely, when both the MTP and PTP are unslected then with only the USB debugging on, the device is not recognised as the windows doesn't find the drivers. See Attached screenshot.
Probably, the problem is with the MDM and it's drivers which are Motorola specific.
Another question I am wondering about is what functions does MDM provides, apart from software update?
Use this.. Uninstall Motorola device manager, reboot.. Then install it..

Still the MDM is not working.
These seem to be older versions of the driver. The problem seems to be specifically with the MDM and it's specific drivers as I am successfully able to connect to my Moto E for Tethering & use it as mobile hotspot.
Can any one point me to the functionality of MDM?

Hi. First of all I want to excuse me that I' m asking a common thing several times threated in other posts.
I'm working now 2 days on getting another rom on my lemax 2.
I have installed the driver for the phone on my windows 7. system manager shows a propper installation. ADB driver's have been installed. The phone is in developper mode and oem and usb debugging is turned on. I switched to MTP and to PTP to make my device visible for ADB. But when I'm trying to see if my computer shows the mobile phone in CMD with the following command "adb devices" there will never be something listed! I tried already a lot... Uninstalling drvers for ADB, tried different drivers... And so on... Does anybody have an idea to help me??
Same problem here. Phone doesn't show, ADB can't connect. I am starting to get frustrated.
Most likely a problem with the usb driver, did you try another phone? I had the same problems and ended up doining it under linux afther a couple of hours messing in win10.

Linux definitely is the better choice.
The fastboot drivers are different from the ADB drivers, and in Windows 10 you might have to switch the driver after fastbooting the phone.
It's really really silly and took me hours to find out.
You can change them in device manager, find the USB device there and update its driver. You don't need one from the web, just take the fastboot one from the list that Windows offers.

I have no second android phone to test. But I tried already on OS Win 7 & 10 with different drivers on Win 7 as well. On win 10 the driver was already given by Windows, no need to install. I think that the problem has something to do with the phone, but I can't find the problem. It must be something with authorisation, that Win Os will recognize the Leeco correctly to have access.
I finally found a good working driver for WIN 10. I found it from a Chinese chatting group, so use it at your own risk.
Below is the share link.

You will need to boot your phone into bootloader, connect to computer, manually switch the diver via 'Browse my computer for driver software" -> 'Let me pick fromm a list of device drivers on my computer"-> "Have Disk".
Hi all,
After reinstalling Windows7 32-bit on my laptop, I ran into the same issue as you guys here. What I did was to install pdanet and the adb interface worked. However, I could not get into the QDLoader 9008 and also Diagnostic Driver was not working, simply the drivers could not get installed no matter what I tried. I searched quite a lot of time how to get make it work and looks like there was a zip "QDLoader HS-USB Driver". You can google it and it has 32-bit and 64-bit installations. I am not very sure if I had to install pdanet but that was the first step to make it work, at least to have adb.
I'm sure that you guys found the answer already, but I wanted to help others as well if they run into the same issue.

if you're sure it's not a driver issue you can try the following (solved the problem for me):
on your windows machine navigate to "c:\users\<insert your user name here>\.android" and delete the file "adbkey".
either jump directly to the folder or turn on hidden/os files in explorer and navigate there.
now plug in your phone, the rsa-key dialog should pop up.
if not, that wasn't your problem.
btw. i'm using "universal adb installer".
